It was a special phenomenon in the art of 20th century that the earnest engagement of spectators came up to the surface in the area of artwork-creation and art-experience which had been one-sided processes for a long time. Such a genre of Optical art or Kinetic art, had pulled out active engagements of audiences in enjoying diverse works, played the role of locomotive in the Interactive Art. Of course, many kind of art made an appearance on the channels of diverse media from that times. For example, many people came to enjoy taking part in such a genre as Happening formated the mode of face-to-face communication between the creator and the spectator. The appearance of the technology of digital media had a decisive influence on the area of the Interactive Art. From that time on, people have come to accept the reciprocity of the relations between artist and spectator naturally. This paper makes researches on some trends in the development of Interactive Arts by way of analyzing some representative Interactive Artworks typing the birth and growth of Interactive Art.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 193~202
This paper is a research of job search plan of polytech college based on SEM. We did a through research of factors on the motivation of job seeking and those of job search scheme which are independent variables. We also verified the effects of factors of stable job composition, job seeking surroundings and job selection which are dependent variables. Hence we conducted a survey among polytech college students, studying relationship between factors of dependent variable and independent one. We also analyzed whether motivation of career seeking affects job search plot by utilizing SEM based on AMOS 5.0. The consequence of the research is that stable job and job selection factor were rejected, for they do not highly affect motivation of job seeking. And the factors of job seeking environment (establishment of collaboration between businesses and colleges, hands-on guidance at workplace and the guidance for enhancement of vocational capability), which are dependent variables, were chosen because they are the affirmative factors of motivation of job seeking. After all, they are the crucial factors of job search plan.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 203~211
Due to the advance of H/W and S/W techniques to play 3D sound, the virtual space contented by 3D graphics and sounds can provide users more improved realities and vividness. However for the small 3D contents developers and companies, it is hard to implement 3D sound techniques because the implementation requires expensive sound engines, 3D sound technical understanding and 3D sound programming skills. Therefore 3D-sound-playing-interface is necessary to easy and cost-effective 3D sound implementation. Using this interface, graphics experts can easily add 3D sound techniques to their applications. In this paper, the followings are designed and implemented as a preliminary stage in the way of developing the 3D sound playing interface. First, we develop 3D sound S/W modules converting mono to 3D sound in PC based systems. Second, we develop the interconnection modules to map 3D graphic objects and sound sources. The developed modules in this paper can allow the user to percept sound source position and surround effect at the moving positions in the virtual world. In the coming works, we are going to develop the more completed 3D sound playing interface consisted of the synchronization technique for sound and moving objects, and HRTF.

Nam, Chong-Hoon ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 213~223
This study attempted to analyze background and industrial difference of RO and SO. RO was launched for solving a problem of terrestrial broadcasting. After solving a problem of terrestrial broadcasting system, RO has played a roll as a local media. On the other hand, SO was launched by government's policy so SO has been protected and brought up by government. Because market of RO and SO is overlap and competitive, RO has been restricted by government for issuing new license and renewal of permission. Presently, environment of media has been changed very dramatically, so various niche media are needed for various customer's needs. In addition, local media are in trouble of playing a role as a public broadcasting service in Korea. Therefore, RO might be a good solution. In this study for the analysis of the user's needs a survey was conducted. This study shows possibility of RO's roll and function as a local media.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 245~250
Psychology of color is a research field of psychology for studying human's behavior connected with color. Color carries symbolism and image while sharing psychological consensus with human. Each color has a respective image such as hope, passion, love, life, death, and so on. Peculiar stimuli by colors on these images have great influence on human's emotion and psychology. We therefore proposed a method for understanding human's state of emotion based on colors in this paper. In order to understand human's state of emotion, we analyzed color information used to model a room by a user and then described frequencies of each color as percent using fuzzy inference rules by membership values of fuzzy membership functions for colors used for modeling the room. When we applied the proposed color-based emotion analysis method to emotional state based on colors of Alschuler and Hattwick, we could see the proposed method is efficient.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 251~260
In internet being a repository of massive information, we easily may not find our desired information, this issue also exists in e-commerce which gets rapid growth. In most of e-commerce sites, the methods furnishing information have been made use of statistical analysis or simple process by category-oriented, but these can't represent diverse correlation among products information and also hardly reflect users' purchasing patterns precisely. In this thesis, we propose more efficient web mining ways for discovering interesting information using effective clustering in e-commerce, which get achieved more suitable relationship among products information using both sequential patterns and association rules in category-independent, and experiments show the efficiency of our proposed methods. And we propose search using effective clustering rapidly.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 277~284
As the increasing of users' request about internet web service, the importance of ontology to construct semantic web is increasing now. Early Internet data processing was studied in the form of data integration through centralized ontology construction. However, because of distributed environment of internet, when integrating data of distributed site, it is required to integrate data of each site in terms of peer-to-peer data processing for corresponding to fast change of internet. In this paper, in distributed environment, we propose data processing method which construct ontology in each site with ontology language OWL. Furthermore, through relational representation of OWL, we propose the system containing distributed query processing for data constructed in different site with different method.

Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 285~293
In Semantic Web, metadata and ontology for representing semantics and conceptual relationships of information resources are essential factors. RDF and RDF Schema are W3C standard models for describing metadata and ontology. Therefore, many studies to store and retrieve RDF and RDF Schema documents are required. In this paper, we focus on some results of analyzing available query patterns considering both RDF and RDF Schema and classify queries on RDF and RDF Schema into the three patterns. RDF and RDF Schema can be represented as graph models. So, we proposed some strategies to store and retrieve using the graph models of RDF and RDF Schema. We can retrieve entities that can be arrived from a certain class or property in RDF and RDF Schema without a loss of performance on account of multiple joins with tables.

Performance Improvement of Adaptive Hierarchical Hexagon Search by Extending the Search Patterns
Kwak, No-Yoon ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 305~315
Pre-proposed AHHS(Adaptive Hierarchical Hexagon Search) is a kind of the fast hierarchical block matching algorithm based on the AHS(Adaptive Hexagon Search). It is characterized as keeping the merits of the AHS capable of fast estimating motion vectors and also adaptively reducing the local minima often occurred in the video sequences with higher spatio-temporal motion activity. The objective of this paper is to propose the method effectively extending the horizontal biased pattern and the vertical biased pattern of the AHHS to improve its predictive image quality. In the paper, based on computer simulation results for multiple video sequences with different motion characteristics, the performance of the proposed method was analysed and assessed in terms of the predictive image quality and the computational time. The simulation results indicated that the proposed method was both suitable for (quasi-) stationary and large motion searches. While the proposed method increased the computational load on the process extending the hexagon search patterns, it could improve the predictive image quality so as to cancel out the increase of the computational load.

Jung, Il-Hong ; Kim, Eun-Ji ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 331~339
This paper presents the development of certain highly efficient and accurate system for producing animation key data for 3D lip-synch animation. The system developed herein extracts korean phonemes from sound and text data automatically and then computes animation key data using the segmented phonemes. This animation key data is used for 3D lip-synch animation system developed herein as well as commercial 3D facial animation system. The conventional 3D lip-synch animation system segments the sound data into the phonemes based on English phonemic system and produces the lip-synch animation key data using the segmented phoneme. A drawback to this method is that it produces the unnatural animation for Korean contents. Another problem is that this method needs the manual supplementary work. In this paper, we propose the 3D lip-synch animation system that can segment the sound and text data into the phonemes automatically based on Korean phonemic system and produce the natural lip-synch animation using the segmented phonemes.

3D Shape Reconstruction based on Superquadrics and Single Z-buffer CSG Rendering
Kim, Tae-Eun ;
Journal of Digital Contents Society, volume 9, issue 2, 2008, Pages 363~369
In this paper, we have proposed 3D shape reconstruction using superquadrics and single z-buffer Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) rendering algorithm. Superquadrics can obtain various 3D model using 11 parameters and both superquadrics and deformed-superquadrics play a role of primitives which are consisted of CSG tree. In addition, we defined some effective equations using z-buffer algorithm and stencil buffer for synthesizing 3D model. Using this proposed algorithm, we need not to consider the coordinate of each 3D model because we simply compare the depth value of 3D model.
