Implementation of GPU based MPEG-2 Decoder

Recently the performance of GPU is increasing much faster compared to GPU and GPU is used for various application programs. In this paper, MPEG-2 Decoder is implemented based on a GPU programming language, CG. The proposed methodology is to perform block rendering with texture data according to video standard with very high parallelism by using the pipeline of GPU which is a stream processing structure. To reduce the data bandwidth between system memory and GPU, local memory is used for graphic card. According to the experiment, the proposed scheme shows performance improvement by more than 2 times compared to CPU based scheme.
A Study on the Factors affecting Cyber-Career-Counseling-Activation based on Structural Equation Model(SEM)

This paper is to redefine the concept of Cyber Career Counseling Activation(=C-C-C-A) and verify the effects of the factors affecting the C-C-C-A at Korean academic high school level in Kyunggi Province. In this research, we hypothesize that the three independent variables increase the effects of Cyber Career Counseling Activation.. To discuss the hypothesis, we analyzed survey data of 322 students who had taken Cyber Career Counseling in December 2007 based on Structural Equation Model. The results are as follows: First, the three crucial factors(Expanding C-C-C Opportunities, Improving C-C-C Service, Establishing C-C-C Service System) increase the C-C-C-A effectiveness. Second, as a result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA), the goodness of fit indices(GFI, AGFI, CFI, RMSEA) demonstrate statistical significance and fitness of the C-C-C-A Model. Therefore, the outcomes show that the three factors are the significant ones of Cyber Career Counseling Activation Model.
A Character Speech Animation System for Language Education for Each Hearing Impaired Person

There has been some research into a speech system for communications between those who are hearing impaired and those who hear normally, but the system has been pursued in inefficient teaching ways in which existing teachers teach each individual due to social indifference and a lack of marketability. In order to overcome such a weakness, there appeared to be a need to develop contents utilizing 3D animation and digital technology. For the investigation of a standard face and a standard spherical shape for the preparation of a character, the study collected sufficient data concerning students in the third-sixth grades in elementary schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi, Korea, and drew up standards for a face and a spherical shape of such students. This data is not merely the basic data of content development for the hearing impaired, but it can also offer a standard measurement and a standard type realistically applicable to them. As a system for understanding conversations by applying 3D character animation and educating self-expression, the character speech animation system supports effective learning for language education for hearing impaired children who need language education within their families and in special education institutions with the combination of 3D technology and motion capture.
Study on the Optimization of DMB Image Contents Production Method

The 21st century has been changed into a knowledge-oriented society, which means our society is more dependent on information and moves toward information. The mixing of broadcasting and co mmunication prevails and it makes possible a new type of broadcasting service. Depending on that, a broadcasting is being changed into a consumer-oriented service to satisfy the demands of consum ers in a new media age. It makes us attain to the personal media age to be possible interactive com munication unlike existing one-way transmission. As a result, new complex media are commercialize d and the instance is DMB. DMB is said 'my own TV' or 'TV in my own hands'. But it has limit t o retransmit existing broadcast programs. So hereafter, DMB broadcasting must be produced with co ntents suited its properties out of retransmitting existing contents. It is necessary to analyze exactly properties and service fields of DMB media to make an establish production direction of contents for DMB. This paper intends to suggest overall optimized image-contents production direction including appropriate program developments, a proper running time, visual expressions such as a camera angle and walking etc... DMB contents suited with its properties will give more familiarities to DMB users. Besides, DMB is expected to be a new culture watching broadcasting.

An Implementation of a Mentoring Community System focused on Dynamic Communication

Recently, The E-Learning becames popular in modern education society, and the education of E-Learning form increased. among them, the leadership education which cultivate the leader who is a present community leader role is more important. The Leadership-activity give effects to consultant and consulters through the relationship each other. However, the leadership-activity is difficult to be reified because it differs from concepts of E-learning that is one-direction teaching mechanism. Beside, the restriction in time and space and considered as important factors because of offline characteristics. The paper presents an online mentoring community form unities among professors, student, and managers having the same subjects in virtual spaces. The community is based on the Leadership-activity. The community system contributes in aspects to a new evaluation mechanism and a new method to communication between mentors and mentees. The paper introduces the system architectures and the implementation method for the presenting community system in details.
Performance Evaluation by Frame Discard Methods in Adaptive Bandwidth Allocation Technique for Transmission Plan of Game Moving Picture

A moving picture in online game is one of major ways to advertise online games, which gives a lot of help in playing game. In this case, a moving picture is compressed to variable bit rate for efficient storage use and network resource efficiency. Adaptable bandwidth allocation technique builds a transmission plan of a game moving picture. And, then some frames are discarded when transmission rate by the transmission plan is larger than available transmission rate, until transmission rate satisfies available transmission rate. Thus, performance evaluation factors in adaptable bandwidth allocation technique may be dependent on discarding order of a frame which transmission rate is much influenced. In this paper, in order to show the performance, a CBA algorithm, an MCBA algorithm, an MVBA algorithm,  and  algorithm were applied to a transmission plan in the adaptable band width allocation technique using various frame discard methods and performance evaluation factors were compared in among smoothing algorithms.
A Study on Improved Synthetic Utilization for Real-Time Aperiodic Tasks Scheduling

Recently, several algorithms for scheduling aperiodic tasks have been proposed. Among them, Abdelzaher et al proposed an algorithm to determine the schedulability of aperiodic tasks, and proved that the aperiodic tasks are schedulable if the upperbound of synthetic utilization is less than or equal to
. But this algorithm has a drawback in that if some tasks, even though they are completed and have no more execution times, are included in the current invocation set, their execution times and deadlines are added to the synthetic utilization. This may lead to a problem in which actually schedulable tasks are decided not to be schedulable. In this paper, we recognize the above mentioned problem and propose an improved synthetic utilization method that can be used to schedule aperiodic tasks more efficiently.
A Study on the Impact of the Attitude of Cyber Home Study using Structural Equation Model on the Effectiveness of Cyber Home Study

The result of analysis is summarized as follows. First, the cyber home study motivation has a positive effect on the cyber home study attitude. Secondly, the cyber home study Content of Ease use has no positive effect on the cyber home study attitude. Thirdly, the cyber home study Content of Usefulness has negative effect on the cyber home study attitude. Fourth, the cyber home study Content of quality has a positive effect on the cyber home study attitude. Fifth, the cyber home study the attitude a positive effect on has result that a positive effect on learning effectiveness.
Construction of Library for 3D Natural Phenomena Using 2D Images

There are two methods to express natural phenomena using image processing techniques. One is the presentation of simulations for natural phenomena and the other is the display of images based on script. A lot of people used to get the display using vast data and complicated math formulas. When we get the output images in this way, we will have some problems in time and cost. In this paper, we use fluid images excluding using the complicated math formulas, programming, and taking pictures to present the natural phenomena. We construct the library to express the natural phenomena effectively using 2D images and simulation of fog for the background of oriental painting in 3D space.
A Novel Test Scheduling Algorithm Considering Variations of Power Consumption in Embedded Cores of SoCs

Test scheduling considering power dissipation is an effective technique to reduce the testing time of complex SoCs and to enhance fault coverage under limitation of allowed maximum power dissipation. In this paper, a modeling technique of test resources and a test scheduling algorithm for efficient test procedures are proposed and confirmed. For test resources modeling, two methods are described. One is to use the maximum point and next maximum point of power dissipation in test resources, the other one is to model test resources by partitioning of them. A novel heuristic test scheduling algorithm, using the extended-tree-growing-graph for generation of maximum embedded cores usable simultaneously by using relations between test resources and cores and power-dissipation-changing-graph for power optimization, is presented and compared with conventional algorithms to verify its efficiency.
A Study on the Active Location Acquisition Terminal Using Base-station Location Information and GPS Module

In this paper, we propose an active location acquisition terminal needing to construct an infrastructure based on a LBS and analyze the performance in real field. The proposed terminal is compounded with a GPS module and a CDMA module, so it can get the location information independently using satellite GPS signal and the proposed terminal can decide a user location with the location information of a base station in satellite GPS shadowed area. This is the distinguishable location acquisition method from the conventional A-GPS, and it complements a disadvantage of the conventional GPS. From these results, we can confirm that the proposed active location acquisition terminal is suitable to the requirements for the LBS which are the independent location acquisition ability, the continuity in the location information acquisition and the maintenance in the location information security.
Design and Verification of the Integrated Log Analysis System for Enterprise Information Security

The leakage of sensitive information by an insider within the organization becomes a serious threat nowadays. Sometimes, these insider threats are more harmful to an organization than external attack. Companies cannot afford to continue ignoring the potential of insider attacks. The purpose of this study is to design an integrated log analysis system that can detect various types of information leakages. The system uses threat rules generated through risk analysis, and monitors every aspect of the online activities of authorized insider. Not only should system have the ability to identify abnormal behavior, they should also be able to predict and even help to prevent potential risk. The system is composed of three modules, which are log collector, log analyzer and report generator.
A Study of Implementation for SCORM based Learning Management System

This paper aims at studying the new SCORM based e-Learning system and self-course design method. To construct this aims, we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of the previous LMS(Learning Management System) and we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Model). SCORM was suggested ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning) to elevate the reusability of learning contents. Also we have researched the related researches of SCORM, SCORM based LMS and case studies. This paper suggests the level based self learning and course design and the system based on SCORM. This system has elevated the effectiveness and satisfaction of the learners.
A Hybrid Rendering Model to support LOD(Level of Detail)

We propose the Hybrid Rendering model to support multi-resolution for computer graphics. LOD method for computer graphics system considering performance of device environment and end-user preference usually adopts mesh resolution, mipmap in texture rendering, or oct-tree data structure in ray tracing. The hybrid rendering model, as a local shading model combining Gouraud shading model and a flat shading model, applies a proper shading method to each of polygons consisting of an object. This method can be an effective alternative to reduce real-time rendering time so that it can be utilized in real time adaptive service of computer graphic contents among various device environments under ubiquitous environments.
A Consideration on the System for Ear Training

Ear training is said to be the ability to measure sound either in terms of musical scale or cord by listening to music acoustically. This is the most basic subject and the most practical technique in any music genre; also, the most crucial factor for individuals who are studying music. Ear training is an important skill to develop when learning to play the piano, or learning any kind of musical instrument. It is also the key factor in a successful music education. Everyone can develop their musical ability if ear training is provided during childhood. The aim of this study is to develop an ear training system whereby beginners or children can learn music with ease in terms of computer access which is part of their daily life. This system is devised so that children can practice ear training easily. This system is also beneficial to others who plan to major in music.
