The effect of Persicae Semen on the Hyperlipemia in Rabbits
Choe, Mun-Beom ; Kim, Seon-Hui ;
The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 1~1
In order to study the effectiveness on the hyperlipemia in rabbits, we made use of Persicae Semen with activating blood flow and removing blood stasis.The results were as follows:1. The contents of total cholesterol showed significant decrease of 28.9 percent in comparison with control group.2. The contents of triglyceride showed significant decrease of 26.5 percent in comparison with control group.3. The contents of phospholipid showed decrease of 13.1 percent in comparison with control group, but the result didn't attract attention.4. The contents of free fatty acid showed significant decrease of 26.9 percent in comparison with control group.5. The contents of total lipid showed significant decrease of 16.1 percent n comparison with control group.According to the above experimental results, it could be concluded that Persicae Semen had a good effect on the hyperlipemia. And we can judge that Persicae Semen will be widely used in syndromes of blood stasis

In order to identify of efficacy and indicate the correct using of the Lignum and the Cortex of Londera obtusiloba, this experiment was conducted to evaluate the analgesic. anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects on rats and mice.1. The analgesic effects of the Lindera obtusiloba was recognized all on acetic acid stimulating method in mice and bythe method of giving pressure tp hind leg in mice.2. The anti - inflammatory effects of the Lignum and the Cortex of lindera obtusiloba was recognized all on acetic acid induced vascular permeability in mice and on Carrageenin edema of the hind paw in rat, especially showed excellent significance after two hours on the lignum and two, five hours on the Cortex.3. The antimicrobial effects of the Lignum and the Cortex was recognized all on paper Disc method(mm). According to above mentioned results, it is suggested that the Lignum and the Cortes of Lindera obtusiloba con be used on removing evil heat(淸熱), dimimish inflammation(消炎), removing bolld stasis to cure traumatic swelling(去瘀消腫), dispel phlegm(去痰) invigorate blood circulation(活血), external wound(外탕), blow(打撲) etc, symptom complexes of excessiveness occur when pathogenic factors are in abundance(邪氣盛則實) because of effects on analgexic, antiinflammatory and antimicrobial effects.
Human Monocyte 의 IL-8 생산억제에 미치는 류마토이드관절염 치료제로서의 五加皮의 효과
Kim, Ho-Cheol ; Lee, Sang-In ; An, Deok-Gyun ;
The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 49~49
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic systemic inflammatory process that predominantly affects the synovial joints. In active RA, the synovial fluid is often associated with the sequestration of neutrophils. Recently IL-8, secreted by activated monocytes as well as by various types of cells, has been identified as a major neutrophil chemotactic factor. It attracts and activates neutrophils in inflammatory regions. Neutrophils contain a wide spectrum of cartilage degrading enzymes which, upop stimulation, can be released along wity dytotoxic oxygen metabolites. Activated neutrophils, therefore, may contribute, besides mononuclear phagocytes, and other cells, to tissue damage at the site of inflammation. Synovial fluids from RA patients contain significantly more IL-8 than fluids from osteoarthritis patients.As evidence for a major role for IL-8 in chronic inflammation is increasing, the search for possible physiological inhibitors and antagonists becomes an important goal.In this reseatchm I wanted to observe the inhibitory effects on the prouction of IL-8 of Acanthopanacis Cortex which has been used as a remedy for RA in oriental medicine. And then, there were siginigicant inhibitory effects of Acanthopanacis Cortex on the production of IL-8 in the LPS stimulated human monocyte.
Effects of Eucommiae Cortex and Folium on the Ovariectomized Rat as the Model of Postmenopaual Osteoporosis
Oh, Ha-Sik ; Kim, Ho-Cheol ; Lee, Sang-In ;
The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 10, issue 1, 1995, Pages 59~59
The purpose of this study is to examination what are the effects of the Eucommiae Cortex fried with salt and Eucommiae folium on the aged ovariectomized rat model of postmenopaual osteoporosis.The results of the experiment are as follows,1. The level of serum ALP in Eucommiae Folium group showed a significant increase.2. The level of S-GOT in Eucommiae Folium group and Eucommiae Cortex group showed a significant decreaseand Eucommiae Folium, but the level of S-GPT in both group showed no efficacy.3. Urinary volume in Eucommiae Folium group and Eucommiae Cortex fried with salt group showed a significant decrease.4. The level of urine-calcium to creatinine ratio in Eucommiae Folium group and Eucommiae Cortex fried with salt group showed a significant decrease.According to the above results, effects of the Eucommiae Cortex fride wuth salt and Eucommiae Folium on the aged ovariectomized rat model showed a efficacy in assistance of hepatic function, prevention of bone aborption and bone mineral-loss, and prevention of urinary volume in crease by ovariectomy.And Eucommiae Folium showed a significant to bone-formation, so it can be used for restraint of postmenopaual osteoporosis. As for its effects, continuous clinical study is needed.

Through the study on the effects of FRUCTUS HORDEI GERMINATUS caused by methods of drug preparation, following result has been obtained.Apart from it is used with raw or stir-baked, FRUCTUS HORDEI GERMINATUS has the effects of promoting digestion and cessation of milk secretion. And when use it with the purpose of promoting digestion it have to be used with small amount and when we use it with the purpose of cessation of milk secretion it have to be used with amount.

This study was carried out to investigate experimently the effect of aqua-acupuncture of Psoraleae Fructus in rats with acute adrenocortical insufficiency.The obtained results were as follows:1. The levels of serum cortisol were remarkably increased comparing with those control group in case of sin-su group.2. The concentrations of serum glucose were remarkably increased comparing with those control group in case of sin-su group.3. The concentrations of serum total protein were remarkably decreased comparing with those control group in case of sin-su group.4. The counts of blood eosinophils were remarkably decreased comparing with those control group in case of sin-su group.5. The adrenal weight were significantly increased comparing with those control group in case of sin-su group.
