Comparative Experimental Study of Anti-Thrombosis Effect Comparing Cornu Bubali, Cornu Bos tauri, Cornu Rhinoceri
The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 3, issue 1, 1988, Pages 19~19
According to the comparative experimental study of antithrombosis effect comparing Cornu Bubali, Cornu Bos tauri, and cornu Rhinoceri with the rats which are induced thrombosis by endotoxin, injection through the vain of a tail, after oral injection of the extract of Cornu Bubali, Cornu Bos tauri, and Cornu Rhinoceri, conclusions by obervation of the number of blood plateles, prothrombin time, F.D.P. density and time to measure the quantity of fibrinogen are as follows. 1. As for the number of blood platelets, Cornu Bubali, Cornu Bos tauri, and Cornu Rhinoceri injection group all showed significant increasing tendency. 2. As for the prothrombin time, Cornu Bubali and Cornu Bos tauri extract injection group showed the expected result; shortening of prothrombin time but Cornu Rhinoceri extract injection group showed no significant result. 3. As for F.D.P. density, all of them showed decreasing tendency in comparision with that of the standard group but not significant as expected. 4. As for the time to measure the quantity of fibrinogen, Cornu Bubali and Cornu bos tauri extract injection group showed significant increase in time to measure the quantity of fibrinogen, but Cornu Rhinoceri extract injection group showed no significant result. By the above result, Cornu Bubali and Cornu Bos tauri are expected to the utilized with their anti-thrombosis effect and to be substituted instead of Cornu Rhinoceri, while Cornu Rhinoceri needs further investigation and study through repeated experiment in proving its effect as known until now.

Comparative study on the Basic Ingredients and the Quantity of Heavy Metal in various Types of Gelatine
The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 3, issue 1, 1988, Pages 45~45
According to the comparative investigation of the basic ingrdient and the quantity of the heavy metals in chinese-gelatine, M-gelatine, Y-gelatine, and P-gelatine, the results obtained in the work were summerized as follows. 1. The process of making amount of the Y-gelatines and p-gelatines had little effects on the composition of the basic ingredients. 2. The order of Total-N amount of the gelatines were M-gelatine, chinese-galatine, Y-gelatine and P-gelatine. 3. The order of crude-ash amount of the gelatines were M-gelatine, Y-gelatine, chinese-gelatine and P-gelatine. 4. The order of Crude-fat amount of the gelatines were P-gelatine, Y-gelatine, Chinese gelatine and M-gelatine. 5. The order of Moisture amount of the gelatines were M--gelatine, Y-gelatine, Chnese-gelatine and p-gelatine. 6. The order of Ca amount of the gelatines were M-gelatine, Chinese-gelatine, P-gelatin and Y-gelatine. 7. Remarkably more quantity of Ca and Crude-ash in the M-gelatine than in the other gelatine indicates the posibility of being abstracted from the different raw material. 8. M-gelatine that contains mercury 0.43 ppm, while its quantity is more than limited quantity (0.4ppm) in fish and sellfish from Japan, does not induce accumulation of mercury in independently to human body, but it has much more effects on human body that accumlated in different circumetances, than Y-gelatine. 9. The difference of the between quantity of cadmium, arsenic, and Plumbum in Y-gelatine and in M-gelatine were little found out. According to the above results, M-gelatine needs to be checked again in its medicinal effects, and in order to make medicinal gelatine of Y-gelatine and P-gelatine that are possible to produce in interior, the animal investigation and the clinical investigation must be enforced with the gelatines.

The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 3, issue 1, 1988, Pages 55~55
The harmonious demand and supply of Oriental medicinal stuff is deeply required as the demand of Oriental medicine is gradually increasing. Recently, since many kinds and large quantity of orientai medicinal stuff depend on imports except the small-scale production in our country, not only the heavy loss of foreign currency but also the rise in the price of oriental stuff constitute obstacles to the elevation of national health. So, I intended the improvement of traditional medicine as a substitute the indigenous medicinal stuff for the imported Oriental medicinal stuff, supplementing the 43 kinds proved as the indigenous herbs to the 105 kinds from the section of indigenous herbs in the Hyang-Yak-Jib-Sung-Bank published by the order of Sejong the great in 1433.

The Korea Journal of Herbology, volume 3, issue 1, 1988, Pages 101~101
Wolgukwhan and Chilkitang have been applied to the abdominal pain and neurosis caused by the disharmony of circulation of vital energy. This studies were undertaken in an attempt to investigate the effect of secreting volume of gastrie juice, gastric acidity and gastric ulcer induced by Shay's ulceration, stress in rats. The results were as follows. 1. Wolgukwhan and Chilkitang showed a significant inhibitory effects on on the secreting volume of gastric juice, gastric acidity in rats, and Chilkitang revealed better results than Wolgukwhan. 2. In the case of the ulcer index of Shay's ulceration in rats Wolgukwhan and Chilkitang were decreased, and Wolgukwhan showed remarkable anti-ulceration effect than Chilkitang. 3. The effect of Wolgukwhan and Chilkitang on gastric ulcer induced by stress in rats were shown a significant anti-ulceration, and Chilkitang was more effective than Wolgukwhan. According to above results, Wolgukwhan and Chilkitang were assumed to be effective on neurogenic gastric ulcer.
