Estimation of the Applicable Range of Non-cement Binder as LW Grouting Materials

Recently, it is more important to develop the environment-friendly binder as soil grouting materials for conforming to the government policy, "Green Growth". In this research, characteristic properties of gel time and homo gel strength of liquid chemical grouting materials for soil grouting using non-cement binder(NCB) were evaluated according to binder types, liquid B's W/B, liquid B's replacement ratio and the binder volume in order to estimate the applicable range of NCB as LW grouting materials. The test was performed using ordinary portland cement(OPC) as well as NCB1, NCB2, NCB3 which are environment-friendly inorganic binders developed by means of collaboration research by our company and which are different from chemical composition ratio each other. In conclusion, it was found that experimental estimated applicable range of binder volume is albe to a range of
(NCB3) which is satisfied with the target gel time range(20~50sec.) and target homo gel strength range(more than 2MPa) in condition of
(water temperature). And NCB could be applied to LW grouting materials and replace OPC, because NCB had the most excellent performance in certain section of gel time and homo gel strength in condition of this experiment.
An Experimental Study on Below Zero Temperature Curable Cement Mortar and Insulated·Heating Forms Development for Concrete Casting at Low Temperature

Domestic construction market is congested enough at the moment cause enterprises to enter overseas market such as Mongolia and Russia. However most previous studies conducted at a temperature above freezing. In this study, performance analysis of cement mortar was conducted without extra heating air supplying at a low temperature below freezing. For this study, all of materials for experiment were kept in a low temperature for 48 hours before mortar mixing. After mortar curing at low temperature, compressive strength was measured at the early ages. Also, properties of hardened cement material was analysed using TG-DTA and MIP. At experiment series 1, to figure out whether cement hydration reaction at low temperature below freezing is possible or not, use anti-freezing agent to protect freezing of water used in mortar mixture and analyze increasing amount of
, chemical bound water contained in mortar by usage of hardening accelerator and curing period at low temperature condition. At experiment series 2, insulated and heating form have been used with mortar has same mix proportion as series 1. Thermal performance and compressive strength of mortar are conducted and analyzed excremental result according to the variable form types. Especially, high fineness cement is considered to use with insulated form. Hydration heat of quicklime is used for heating form in this study. The analysis of this study confirmed that high fineness cement with insulated form and heating form can be suitable to be used in low temperature environment.
A Study on SCM-based Procurement Process for Plant Projects - Focused upon Main Equipment -

Currently the construction industry has become highly competitive between companies as the globalization, lead time has become uncertainty longer. In addition, the effective handling of delivery time and quality materials, inventory management and lead time are limited in case of the plant project. Accordingly, effort of cost and process improvement is preceded in order to do effective process form. However, previous research is very insufficient about procurement system in the plant industry. Thus, the paper was established to utilizing the work areas for the SCM step-by-step existing procurement work process, the main materials that are directly related to the business success of the plant project was studied.
Reduction of Concrete Cracking by Various Surface-Covered Curing Materials

The aim of the research is suggesting the curing method and selection of surface-covered curing materials with the goal of achieving non-cracking concrete by applying on the actually constructed top slab of the apartment and comparing the surface covering method using single-layered white bubble sheet with the surface covering method using polyethylene film. As a result of the experiment, the single-layered white bubble sheet provided better performance of the number of floor cracking, cracking length, the maximum crack depth, and cracking area that the polyethylene film while there was no significant difference of heat of hydration and accumulative heat. Especially, the concrete area cured with single-layered white bubble sheet did not have plastic shrinkage cracking. Therefore, based on the considering the performances of insulation, cracking reduction, financial benefit, and easiness of working, it is determined that the single-layered white bubble sheet, and its application are the most desired material and technique for concrete curing method during fall.
Unstructured Construction Data Analytics Using R Programming - Focused on Overseas Construction Adjudication Cases -

As construction projects are getting complex, the amount of information in order for performing project has rapidly increased. Thus, high quality of data management technique, which can promote project's productivity and profitability, is now a big issue in construction industry. Especially, as the importance of construction claim and dispute management is emphasized data analysis based risk management is becoming an important topic. This study analyzed overseas construction adjudication cases based on unstructured data analytics as a way of claim and dispute management. In order to analysis on unstructured data, which is written in text data, NLP, IR and Text Mining technique was applied, and some of meaningful results could be derived. From the text analysis written in construction case law, some construction dispute type was classified; loss of profit, document notification, practical completion, clear terms of contract, and payment. This study conducted a meaningful attempt in construction dispute research aspect as suggests a methodology which can enhance the accessibility and availability of construction adjudication cases.
An Analysis on the Job Efficiency of Field Managers in Remodeling Project and Its Improvement Measures

As of 2015, remodeling market in Korea is estimated at 9 to 10 trillion KRW. Notwithstanding the deregulation, construction companies are very cautious of expansion remodeling business due to inefficiency resulting from unexpected incidents and various matters in the course of expansion remodeling construction. Hence, improvements in efficiency of field managers performing expansion remodeling construction are critical for vitalization of future remodeling market. Especially, capability of field managers in charge of remodeling construction greatly affects the efficiency and is a critical factor in success of remodeling construction. Hence, this research aims to present improvement plan by identifying key tasks of expansion remodeling at each construction step, and analyzing the level of field manager's job performance and degradation factors of job efficiency, in order to vitalize remodeling market through enhanced efficiency of domestic expansion remodeling.
An Economic Evaluation on applying EIFS to Residential Building Remodeling for Energy Performance Enhancement

Improvement of building's energy performance is associated with the global trend of energy savings. Therefore, the construction industry has a tendency to change from new construction to remodeling and exterior insulation finishing system. It would be reasonable as a way to ensure thermal performance of buildings. The purpose of this research is applying EIFS in remodeling. The research examines the theory and practices for remodeling and EIFS. And it builds a 3D model of residential buildings to analyze economics by calculating the initial construction costs based on the historical performance cost and energy costs based on Autodesk Green Building Studio energy simulation. This study determines the cost recovery period by using simple payback period method, net present value method, internal rate of return method and LCC analysis. Result of the simple payback period is 2.92 years and the discounted payback period is 3 years. And it has economic benefit from the third year after remodeling according to the LCC analysis.
