A Study on Amenities, Services and Location of Senior Housing Community for Independent Living in the United States: A Case Study using NVivo

This study identified characteristics of amenities, services and location of senior housing communities for independent living in the United States. For data collection, 10 states were classified with the highest proportion of aging population. A total of 100 senior housing community websites were gathered. A content analysis was conducted to analyze key words related to amenities, services and location in each senior housing community website. A total of 1,487 key words were analyzed using a qualitative research software, NVivo. The results show that 42% of the key words were related to amenities, 40% were about services and 18% were about location. The key words were classified into five categories: daily living activities, safety/security, health/wellness, leisure, and others. The most frequently mentioned keywords in amenities were dining room, fitness room and club house, in services were meals, transportation and housekeeping, in location were proximity to amenities/entertainment, shopping center, and medial service. This study provides useful information to senior housing researchers, developers and designers about Korean senior housing community for independent living.
A Study on the MC Design Application for Standardization of Exterior Building Materials of Modular Housing

Domestic modular buildings had difficulties at getting economic advantage, construction and good quality of modular housing because of inappropriate designs and material specifications. This was because of inappropriate design of exterior material and inappropriate window and door specifications. Studies on domestic modular housing could investigate actual conditions of domestic modular housing. The exterior material of modular housing should be standardized to improve beauty of existing modular housing and to lower expenses, and elevation plan should give prototype. Studies on existing modular building plans set module unit standard and modular coordination design standard, and suggested modular housing types for specific facilities, and did not research prototype for modular housing based on standardization and beauty. Therefore, this study investigated modular housing by literature to find out reformation by case study and standardization at home and abroad and to give prototype by exterior material standardization and elevation plan.

Park Geun-hye President emphasized "Eurasian Initiatives" and advocated cooperative exchange the South and North at groundbreaking ceremony of Gyeongwon-line railway restoration in August 2015. Also, the discussion and interest relation to reunification of the government and academia including korean people have been actively developed. Therefore, this study asserts the necessity and importance of infrastructure establishment in the Korean Peninsula. Accordingly, The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status for the whole facilities including the main SOC of the North Korean and to Predict on the technology and risk Level of Infrastructure Based on face to face interview refugees of North Korean.
A Study on Characteristics of Architectural Design Education from the Viewpoint of Pedagogy

The purpose of this paper is to describe the unique characteristics of architectural education, and compare these characteristics with the general theories of education, pedagogy and educational technology. And looking for the directions of improvement on architectural education at the present circumstances of complexity and uncertainty. The scope and procedures of the study is as follows; (1) To identify and extract the research areas and relevant items that is related to characteristics and instructional methods of architectural education through a literature search linked to western philosophy of education and pedagogy. (2) To extract the unique characteristics of architectural education and pedagogical features through the case study of 6 architectural schools that is different each others from the viewpoint of instructional method. (3) To find a relationship between the unique characteristics of architectural design education and the teaching-learning theories in general. The results of the study could be used as a basic data for improving the architectural education.
An Analysis on the Determining Factors in the Selection of House Exterior Colors in the Hillside Towns, Busan

The purpose of this study is to analyze the determining factors in the selection of colors for house exterior. The hillside towns in Busan have developed colorful scenery. The color selection of house exterior is free of restrictions. but the color composition of the town is not seen as chaos. It is assumed that the crucial factors of color selection make some kind of patterns which we can perceive with ease. With the help of statistical analysis, It is found that the determining factors in selecting colors depends on the physical states and the circumstance of each house. This research is to determine how the size and the value of a house influence on selecting the exterior colors and also to analyze how the circumstance, such as exterior colors of other houses within the neighborhood affect the color selection. As the determining factors of houses' color selection are defined, this study is to identify the rules in forming a colorful scenery of towns.
A Study on Required Safe Egress Time (RSET) and Stair Flow Rates Assessment by Geographical Conditions and Agent Floor Distribution of Daegu Subway Stations

As a city is grown, its population would be incredibly bigger. Due to the population growth, city's functional or residental building and even transports are suggested to occupy underground space. Underground stations in Daegu could be divided into four spheres depending on usage purpose of local area. In this study, the number of users in each sphere was analysed by vertical distribution which meant each floor of underground station and also the number of users of each underground station is analysed according to a time period. Egress simulation modelling were performed after setting up the number of users based on field-measurement from examination. From a result of evacuation simulation, occupants' evacuation behaviours and deviations were concretely considered. To be conclusion, this study can be a guideline or suggestion for improving design and performance of evacuation safety in underground stations.
A Study on Slate Roof Research of Decrepit Residential Area by Using UAV

Although Asbestos is extremely harmful carcinogen, there remain many buildings in. Especially unsheltered asbestos cement slate should be removed in the near future because they will be possible scattering and polluting. Complete enumeration surveying is definite way but there are too difficult situations to depend on pure labor. So on the study carry out research using UAV, targeting housing redevelopment area where is scheduled to be dismantled and demolished, identification roof type and verification on field. For the purpose of this study, take photographs by low altitude flight and create orthophoto on photogrammetry application based on point cloud. Orthophoto has made sure of location accuracy within GCP's coordinates by RTK-VRS equipment. Total RMSE is less than standard error limit. And Ground Sample Distance of orthometric corrected image is 1cm/pixel which has enough resolution to identify roof type. Upon analysis, 53 roofs are verified slate and the others 246 are not by orthophoto analyzation. Then drawing a parallel result between orthophoto and building ledger. 20 in 53 slate roofs correspond with each other but the other 33 roofs are different type. Such as differences have verified through on-site reviewal. Also, As a result of identification and verification have shown usefulness that technical method. The process of identifying asbestos cement slate using UAV could be a useful research technique. Also, In the future, the methodology of this study is expected to be used as a technique to complement and improve the existing asbestos survey methods.
A Study on the Airflow Characteristics of Court Type in Apartment Considering Daylight Environment

Court-type apartment houses are a form that has a space called the courtyard, which surrounded by a household. Courtyard size is determined by the distance between apartment houses for assurance of the right of sunshine. Distance between apartment houses influence airflow of the courtyard and indoor environment. Therefore, it is necessary to study of livability and comfort in consideration of the airflow environment in order to be settled the court-type apartment houses. In this study, we analyze the planning method and criteria have been proposed in order to ensure good daylight environment of court-type apartments. After setting the standard model through the analysis, the air flow characteristics of the courtyard were analyzed the effect on the indoor air flow environment. The results of the study, court-type apartment houses must plan four or more generations in the short side in order to ensure good daylight environment. However, in order to ensure good ventilation performance of each generation due to the fairness of the air flow characteristics, it was found that the need to plan the fifth generation of short side can be. This may slightly different results depending on the number of floors and generation planar size but must plan for more than five lines, good daylight and air flow environment is determined to be able to provide for each generation.
A Study on the Evacuation Speed Changes According to the Depth of Water

For the last ten years, 270 deaths, 206,509 victims were caused by flooding. In order to reduce the casualties, flooding patterns, prediction of the danger flooded areas, standard of the safe evacuation environment it is important. In addition evacuation routes and shelters does not reflect the characteristics of a natural disaster and measurement capabilities of the refuge person is also not made much yet. The purpose of this study is to provide the standard of the safe evacuation environment through the evacuation simulation experiment to measure change in speed due to the water depth and to analyze speed difference in movement form, physical condition, distance. Evacuation simulation experiment was conducted with 20 people male of 20's-30's. The results was that 1] The speed is decreased as the water depth deepen but not a big difference in the running and walking. 2] The speed is more influenced by exercise capacity than the physical condition. 3] It showed a large speed reduction ratio lower than the deeper depths and running than walking in the speed according to the distance. This experimental data and the results of this study can be used as a basis to set the standard of safe evacuation plan for flood. Ultimately, expected to reduce the loss of life due to flooding.
