Characteristic of Expressionism on the European Designer's Works in the early 20th Century
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 5~30
The purpose of this study is to observe artistic of Expressionism reflected to works of European costume designers by analizing works of seven major representative costume designers in the twentieth century. They are Mariano Fortuny, Paul poiret, Madelene Vionnet, Jean Patou, Jeanne Lanvin, Gabriel Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. These designers deployed individual and various creative costume design work with peculiar expresive techniques, which is based on the Expressionism. Although each creative work was made in extremely unique sense, there was comon expressive spirituality I their creative activity. The findings are as follows : 1. Based on the "Medieval-directed characteristic" which arose over all fields of art of those days, a modern and reformative clothing beauty was created by reanalyzing traditional motive. 2 Characteristic of Cubistic Expressionism were described in overall silhouette of clothing and fine decorative element. 3. And it also gave an impact against traditional concepts by accepting fantastic oriental Exoticism.Exoticism.
A Study on the mother's attribution and behavioral reaction to behavior problem of child.
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 31~42
The purpose of this study was to examine the mother's perception on the concrete pattern of such behavior problems as noncompliance, jealousy, dependency, hyperactivity and stealing, by analyzing the difference between two cases of her own child and another mother's child relating to her attribution to the behavior problem of the child and the relationship between her attribution and behavioral reaction. This study was carried out by using 515 questionnaires answered by 1000 mothers of children of 7 kindergartens in Ulsan and Taegu, using Melissa Sweitzer's method (1986). The data was subjected to t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient. T-test was applied to test the difference between two cases of her own child and another mother's child relating to her attribution to the behavior problem of the child and Person's correlation coefficient was estimated to test the relationship between her attribution and behavioral reaction. The result of this study is sumarized as follows : 1. It was shown that the mother's attribution to the behavior problem of the child is less serious when her child showed the behavior problem than when another child dose the problem while her attribution has an affective reaction to the behavior problem of the child. 2. The relationship between the mother's attribution and behavior reaction to the behavior problem of the child appeared variously in accordance with the attribution factor and behavior problem. Then the mother showed more attribution to stability while frequently ignoring the child.
A study on the slacks pattern making according to the Movement-Fitness (Part I)
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 43~55
The purpose of this study was to investigate the slacks pattern making on the movement-fitness of the knee region. The experimental items were divided into the lower limb movement (M1~M5) and slacks pattern designs (4 : basic pattern, in-pleats, side-pleats, seam-line increase). This study was done by clothing pressure test, sensory evaluation test and the difference shape-transformation of wearing-slacks. The summarized finding resulted from experiments and investigation are suggested as follows ; First, the clothing pressure test showed that the order of clothing pressure in the movement was the rabbit leap movement (M3), the sit on knees (M4), the nobleman sitting (M5), the sit on chair (M2) from the highest to the lowest. In the comparison of clothing pressure tested by blocks of lower-limb, center front knee region shows the highest of 300g/cm2. In it by constructional methods, the clothing pressure of in-pleats, side-pleats methods shows lower than basic pattern, hem-line increase methods. Also in comparison of the two methods, in-pleats method shows lower than side-pleats method. Second, by the sensory evaluation test based on the lower-limb movements and constructional methods of slacks, it was found that the functional factor score of the rabbit leap movement was also the waist, hip, knee region was the lowest in all blocks. And in the comparison of constructional methods, in-pleats method was the highest in all methods. Third, in consideration of the difference in the shape-transformation of wearing-slacks on the movement-fitness, pleats pattern design methods showed that the ratio of shape-transformation was lower than basic on seam-line increase methods. But the difference of the side-pleats and in-pleats methods was litle. According to these investigation, the slacks pattern making caused by movement-fitness on the knee region, in-pleats design method was the functional slacks pattern.
A Recognition of Mother's Roles and Rearing Behaviors for a Child with Externalized Symptoms
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 57~69

The level of life satisfaction showed significant differences by motivation for leisure, resources for leisure, and perceived adequacy of resources. And the variables which affected the level of life satisfaction independently were family-oriented motivation for leisure, space for leisure, perceived adequacy of burgets and space for leisure.
A Comparative Analysis of Breast Type in 20's and 40's Women
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 85~97
The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences of breast shapes by age, to classify breast types, and to investigate the characteristics of breast shapes by type and the distributions of types by age group, using comparative analysis for women in 20's and 40's. The subjects of anthropometry were 323 women in 20's and 40's. The anthropometric measurements were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, frequency, T-test, F-test, Duncan test, factor and cluster analysis. The results are as follws : 1) According to the increase of age, the items of height were decreased and the items of width, depth, circumference and length were increased, being obeser and breast points were dropped. So the volume and bottom area of 40's women's breast were larger than 20's women's and the breast point to breast point width of 40's women was being wider by the increase of the intereior of breast. 2) 6 factor were extracted from factor analysis by age group. There was no significant difference in consist of factor between age group. There was no significant difference in consist of facotr between age group, but were differences in the connection of factor extracted items and factor loading. Through factor analysis of all age froup, 5 factors were extracted as important factor of breast shapes (obesity of breast and location of breast point ; breast height and volume ; upper dimensions of breast/lower dimensions of breast ; interior dimensions of breast/exterior dimensions of breast ; volume of the lower part and drop of breast). 3) The breast shapes were classified into 4 types by cluster analysis. The frequency of 20's women's breast types appeared in order of type1(53.0%), type3(32.0%), type2(11.0%), type4(4.0%), but that of breast types of 40's women appeared in order of type2(37.9%), type3(31.1%), type4(26.5%), type1(4.5%). Namely, there was few type4 in 20's women and few type1 in 40's women. 20's women's breast types were characterized as type1·3 and type2·3·4 in 40's women. So 40's women had more various breast types than 20's women's.

However, sharing a bedroom did not reduce the housing satisfaction of the grandparent(s) and the grandchild. The living arrangement of coresidence was mostly preferred by the grandparents, followed by the parents. The younger generations reported the more alternatives in living arrangement for the elderly. The number of bedrooms was the most important factor to be considered with coresidence of three generations but the most inadequate characteristics of the current housing to coreside. There were some differences in elderly housing norms and coresidence housing satisfactions among the three generations. The grandparents were most satisfied with coresidence living arragement, followed by the grandchildren and the daughters-in-law.
The Relations between Children's Sibling Relationships and Self-Esteem.
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 315~328
The purpose of this study was to examine how children's sibling relationships were related to their self-esteem. 440 children and their only siblings were asked to respond to two questionnaires concerning the two research variables. The questionnaires used were the SRQ (Furman & Buhrmester, 1985) and the SPPC (Harter, 1985). Ther data were analyzed through correlation analyses, stepwise multiple regression analyses, and canonical correlation analyses. The results were as follows : Warmth·Intimacy and Rivalry (parental partiality toward the child himself/herself) had positive correlations with the child's self-esteem, while sibling Conflict had negative correlations and Relative Status·Power had little correlation. The best predictor of children's self-esteem was sibling Warmth·Intimacy. The next powerful determinants were Conflict and Rivalry. Among the six self-esteem measures, the one predicted best by sibling relationships was Global Self-Worth. The next ones were Behavior·Conduct and Scholastic Competence. The findings revealed that the predictive power of the sibling relationships factors varied considerably according to such status variables as sex and birth order of children and to whether each of the two research variables was analyzed as a whole or at a factor level.
Sensory and Mechanical characteristics of Heunmi-nokcha-injulmi supplemented by Green tea powder
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 34, issue 2, 1996, Pages 329~339
