A Study of the Children′s Afher-School Life and the Mothers′ needs on the After-School Care Program; The Comparison of Low-Income Families with Middle -income in Masan/Changwon Area

The purpose of this study are (1) to examine the types and the after-school child care for children from low-income(106) and middle-income(99) families and (2) to examine the needs and expectations for after-school child care program of low-income(107) and middle-income(100) mothers. The findings of this study are as follows ; (1) The percentage of self-care among children from low-income families are higher than the children from middle-income families. The after-school activities mainly consist of arts, music, physical and computer lessons. (2) The needs on the after-school care program with non-profit basis which is managed by public welfare systems are higher among the low-income mothers than the middle-income mothers. Many mothers want professional, non-profit, systematic and formal after-school care programs. Some suggestions are proposed for after-school care program which can meet needs of the children and the mothers from diverse economic and social backgrounds.
A Study on Dining-out Behaviors of College Student in Cheju Do

The purpose of this study is to investigate dining out behavior of college student living in jeju. The data obtained from 533 questionnaires returned by college student. 36.9% of students indicated over-eating, 27.2% did skipping meal, 14.8% did unbalanced diet, and 11.3% did indulging in hot and spicy food as dietary problems of food habits. Many students consumed 5,000-10,000 won/one time. In the breakfast 63.6% of students did not eat out, in the lunch only 10.5%, and in the dinner only 1.7% did not. The students ate out to take a meal in the breakfast, to meet their friends in the lunch, and to meet their friends and to haute social meeting in the supper. They considered intake nutrition and time saving in the breakfast when they ate out. But in the lunch they had various purposes- intake nutrition, time saving, making with relationships, and enjoying taste of foods. In the supper two-thirds of students considered promoting friendship. The satisfaction of eating out was different significantly from types of living and length of mealtime.
The Effects of Psychological Family Environment, Self-control and Friend Characteristics of Middle School Students on Their Problem Behaviors

The Purpose of this study was to examine the direct or indirect effects of psychological family environment self-control, and friends characteristics of middle school students on their problem behaviors. Data were corrected from 520 senior students of middle school (266 boys and 254 girls) who reside in Inchon. The level of problem behaviors was directly influenced positively by closeness with friends and negatively by self-control and open communication with mothers. And the level of problem behaviors was indirectly influenced positively by intrafamily conflicts and negatively by self-control, parental monitoring and open communication with parents. Self-control was the most powerful predicator of problem behaviors of middle school students. Self-control was directly influenced positively by open communication with fathers and negatively by intrafamily conflicts. Closeness with friends was directly influenced positively by parental monitoring and negatively by self-control and open communication with mothers.
A Study on the Household Wastes Diminution and Recycling of Seoulite Housewives

The study was designed to heap reduce daily household waste and promote the recycling of society's resources. the focus is on promoting environment-friendly activities and slevating a sense of nature-conscious domestic welfare, as well as providing wars to encourage garbage-savvy shopping, waste disposal by content and recycling. The thesis utilized demographic data obtained from 225 female homemakers and includes results based on frequency, ratio, mean, Duncan's Multiple range Test and Multiple Regression analysis. The main results are as follows: 1. Environmental consciousness appears to be higher than that of the adjustment of purchases to reduce waste and of recycling. Conversely more action seems to be taken on the waste disposal separation established since the launch of the volume-based waste collection fee system than on environmental education. 2. Homemakers with relatively higher environmental consciousness reciprocate with correspondent shopping habits, waste disposal eparation and recycling. Factors that influence daily waste reducing action include environmental consciousness homemaker employment status and the type of residence. 3. Activities reducing daily domestic wastes appear to effect a meaningful variable in explaining a sense of environmental welfare. The more respondents practice related shopping habits, waste disposal separation or recycling the more they recognize their living environment as desirable.
The Development of Preschoolers′ Narrative Competence

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development of preschoolers'narrative competence. The subject were 60 preschoolers aged 3 through 5 years who were enrolled in the day care center All the subjects were asked to produce a new story. All the story children toad were recorded on audiotape. The data were analyzed Qualitatively and quantitatively using content analysis and the statistical package for Social Science 9.0. The main results of this study were as follows. 1) Significant age difference was observed in preschooler's narrative structure. Older children produced structurally more complex stories containing setting, character, initiating event, attempt and consequence than younger children. 2) Significant age difference was observed in preschooler's narrative length. Older children used significantly more words and sentence when they produced stories than younger children.3) Preschooler'narrative structure was significantly correlated with narrative length.
A Study on the Make-up Expression and Purchasing Behavior Make-up Cosmetics Based on the Lifestyle

A Study on the make-up expression and purchasing behavior of make-up cosmetics based on the lifestyle. The intention of this study is to classily the consumer group based on the lifestyle, to research the characteristics and desire of the each group, and to find out the differences of the make-up expression and purchasing behavior of make-up cosmetics among each group. The result of this study are as follow; 1. We have obtained seven factors out of twenty six lifestyle items by using AIO lifestyle measurement. The seven factors are make-up high involvement factor, brand loyal factor, make-up bases factor, economical and natural beauty oriented factor, impulsive consumption oriented factor, stubborn choice factor, sensitive to others view factor 2. We have formed four groups based on the seven factors. The four groups are impulsive consumption type, professional make-up type, intentional make-up type, basic type. 3. It was examined that women want to express smart, ellegant and intelligent images form the make-up 4. According to the examination of the differences of the purchsing behavior, only the purchase motive, information source and cosmetics purchase amount per month was differentiate among the groups.
An Analysis of the Children′s Perceived Competences and the Related Variables

This study investigated the children's perceived competences and other variables that are related to areas, children and the home. The subjects of this study were 183 elementary school children enrolled in grade 3 and their mothers. Instruments included the inventory of home stimulation(HOME), the perceived competences scale for children. The main results obtained from this study were as follows : The degree of children's perceived competences differd according to areas(urban and rural), children's sex, birth order, mother's education, father's education, mother's employment satisfaction, income of the family, type of the family. And the children's perceived competences and the home environment stimulation were a positive correlation. Especially HOME and areas(urban and rural) were important variables that effects children's perceived competences.
Status quo Analysis on the Clothing Practice of Automaker′s Uniform

The purpose of this study was to analyse on the clothing practice of automaker's uniform and to investigate the relationship between wearing sense of worker's uniform and overall comfort according to working environment and working types. The data were collected from 184 automakers using questionnaire and interview of a officer for uniform management. Working environment was relatively comfortable, but the worker in special working area needed to control the working environment and adopted the protective equipment. The dissatisfaction of clothing practice of uniform was shown high in design and material. The order of preference in the color was blue, navy, blue, gray, green. In case of taking care of uniform, sewing durability and shape stability were poor in comparison with washing easiness. The correlation between overall comfort and wearing sense of uniform as sense of wearing and taking off, texture and movement function, was relatively high, but it appeared the low correlation in physiological comfort.
A Preliminary Study on Diagnostic Process for Premarital Preparation by Using a Delphi Method : With Purpose of Developing Tools

The purpose of this study is to make a preliminary investigation about the diagnostic process for marital preparation against future divorce which will be necessary for developing tools for the process. Delphi tests have been twice held among 23 professionals regarding the concept of marital diagnosis and the areas of marital preparation to be estimated including definitions of the marital preparation for marriage and the status in which marriage has been prepared, and the categorization of the preparation The result of the study is as follows : Firstly, the concept of marital preparation is comprehensive, for it does include various kinds of preparation necessary for adjustment to marital life except the preparation for wedding ceremony. Secondly, the status in which marriage has been prepared can be divided into individual preparation, a couple's relational preparation, and preparation for marital life. Thirdly, premarital preparation education or counselling will be provided for young persons who are not in status of marital preparation. The areas of marital preparation to be estimated are maturity, independence from parents, and good health in terms of individual preparation, and the depth of love, understanding each other, similarity, harmonization, supplementation, capacity of communication, self-control, and all that sort of thing in terms of relational preparation, sex, views about marriage, information about marital life, role division, giving birth to child and rearing, financial management, and understanding both families of husband and wife.
Evaluation of counseling Services in Private Consumer Counseling Sites

The purpose of this study was to evaluate counseling services in consumer counseling sites. We analyzed the contents and services of consumer counseling from the following internet sites; http : //www . gcn. or. kr , http : //www. jubuclub. or. kr, http : //www. cacpk. erg, http : //www . tor. co. kr/~ consumer, http : //civ. miriman. co. kr, http ://my. netian .com/~rokmc9. The major findings were summarized as follows: (1) All sites provided both a lot of information on consumer affairs and services for consumer counseling. (2) Two out of six private consumer counseling sites were technically inappropriated. They are wow.gen.or.kr and cia.miriman.co.kr (3) Consumer counseling services with specialized information and laws on consumer affairs were more likely provided from sites of consumer organizations than personal sites. (4) Personal sites made more consumer friendly communication than organization sites.
