The Expression of the Human Body in Modern Arts and the Formative Nature of Costume
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 40, issue 6, 2002, Pages 1~19
This study is to observe the meaning, aesthetic formative nature of the human body which has been not only a main issue and discussion object but also socially, culturally connected with clothing by contemplating it in the respect of the trend of art. Additionally, a work of contemplation about human body introduced to fashion design was analyzed to renew the meaning and value of the formative art inside the human body. The way and scope of this study is to contemplate the concept and meaning of human body, based on the documentary records such as art history and clothing history in the West society as a main theme. The results of the analysis were as follows: In the first place, the formative characteristics shown in the modem arts expressing the human body since 1990 which are cubism, futurism, metaphysical painting, dadaism, surrealism, pop art, happening, feminism, body art, and technology art are distortion, exaggeration and dismantling. Second, the aesthetic formative nature and meaning in the human body appear to be different according to the standard of ideal beauty of human body when we examine the expression of it from the aspect of art-history and the meaning of human body implied in it. Besides, human body is being used as a messenger which delivers the message of modem artist to other people. So the changed meaning of human body has affected the clothing and made it possible to manufacture and form new styles of clothing that have never been before. In conclusion, the human body in the modem era plays an important role as a brand-new formative medium of communication in the human society and contributes to the development which applies the aesthetic formative nature of the human body to fashion design.
A Study on Gender Identity shown in Movie Costumes from 1930′s to 1990′s -Focused on the Third Sex -
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 40, issue 6, 2002, Pages 21~37
The third sex implying a mismatch between sex and gender has been regarded as an extreme socio-cultural violation. In its earlier version, such a violation was expressed by cross-dressing; Women's cross-dressing was thought to invoke eroticism, while men's cross-dressing was considered comic or delinquent. However, as feminism developed more with the homosexual identity expressed openly, the third sex began to be visual. Thus, in 1990's, some homosexual monies began to develop to be pluralized enough to suggest the third sex and thereby, change the negative sex into a positive one. In this study, such a pluralization is discussed in terms of invisibility, dichotomy and androgyny. The cross-dressing movies show females in male attire or males in female attire to reflect the third sex. The cross-dressing may be divided into men's playful cross-dressing, women's political cross-dressing and homosexuals'cross-dressing or 'drag'. Gender identity is not an attribute fixed by some physical characteristics, but it tends to be changed or expanded by some social factors over time. In short, it may be a flexible, plural, individual and self-introspective attribute. Movies present diverse types of gender identities, and in particular, the movie costumes specify them. In other words, the costumes may be model means expressing the gender identities, and the gender identities shown in the movies tend to be imitated, re-created or assumed by the audience.

Ego-state elements of unmarried adolescent mothers were distributed evenly in general and this falls under the All B(BBBBB) type of ego-gram, just like the adolescents. As for the subject adolescent mothers, CP was the lowest among the 5 egos. 2. As to the life position, the position of "I′m OK, You′re OK"was the highest for both groups, with slight differences. 3. With regard to the family system types sorted by the combination of family cohesion and family adaptability levels, both the adolescent. mothers and adolescents tended to perceive their families as somewhat-balanced or balanced families. 4. Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 40, issue 6, 2002, Pages 85~97

The subjects were 85 4-5 year olds, their mothers, and teachers in Seoul. The preliminary scale of the Rating Scale for Creative Characteristics of Preschoolers(RSCCP)'was developed as a 47-item 5-point rating scale and consisted of 5 factors. 5 factors. 5 factors were 'uniqueness=-curiosity', 'openness-humor', 'sensitivity-many interest', 'imagination-playfulness', and 'independence-perseverance'. The inter-correlations among the 5 factors ranged from .31-.71. For the criterion validity, Wallach & Kogan's Creativity Test(Foster, 1971) and children's drawing were used, and for the convergence validity, the scores rated by mothers and the scores rated by leachers were compared. Test-retest reliability was .69 and Cronbach's
ranged from .76-.90. There found no significant correlations between the RSCCP scale and the 2 criterion tests, and the paired t-test for the total scores of the scale rated by the mothers and the teachers showed no differences.

the type that parents transfer more resources to children who take more care of their parents,
the type that parents transfer more resources to primogeniture or sons,
the mixed type that uses the exchange criterion, the compensation criterion, and the criterion related birth factors. 3) The variables which have significance on the types of allocation criteria were age, the number of children, and marital status. We make 3D fashion item (sleeveless top and flare skirt) by automatic generation. 3. We combine 3D body model with fashion item by special point, grouping and gap being between body and clothes. 4. We make textile palettes and textile DB for texture mapping and rendering. As a effect of this study, 1. It can give the chance to coordinate clothes suitable for their own character and bodyshape on the cuber space more speedily and variously. 2. It can help fashion internet shopping mall company can save a time, expenses and tries to advertise their new products, offer service for customers and lead customers to purchasing. 3. A Study on the Wearing Silhouette of Jackets According to the Mechanical Properties and Hands of 3 types of Fabrics
Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association , volume 40, issue 6, 2002, Pages 185~195
This study was carried out to investigate the wearing silhouette of jackets according to the mechanical properties, primary hand value and total hand value of the 3 types of wool fabrics. Wool/PET(50/50), wool/PET(80/50) and wool(100%) fabrics were used as test specimens. Mechanical properties of specimens were measured by KES-FB system and primary hand value and total hand value were calculated by equation KN-203-LDY. We made three experimental jackets based on the precious jacket pattern and used Moir Photography to measure the amounts of space between the jacket clothes and body surface from the overlap cross section map. The results were as follows: 1) In mechanical properties, woo/PET(80/20) fabric showed higher bending and shear rigidity. 2) In evaluation of primary hand and total hand, wool 100% fabric showed higher NUMERI and FUKURAMI hand and total hand value. 3) From the reset of Moir Photography, the wearing shapes of the experimental jackets were influenced by the characteristics of fabrics. Except for the hip part, the garment ease of wool/PET(80/20) fabric was estimated more highly.
