A Study for the Properties of Upper Body Somatotype of Lateral View for Middle-aged Women

The somatotype classification of this study was to manufacture well-fitted clothes for middle-aged women. The somatotype classification of the upper body of lateral view was based on previous studies, and 4 postures, straight posture, leaning back posture, bent forward posture, and swayback posture were selected for this study. The front of leaning back posture was longer and wider than that of straight posture, and its front neck depth was deeper. Its front interscye breadth was wider and back interscye breadth was narrower. S.N.P. B.P. front waistline length, waist front length, front diagonal length, chest shedder length, front waistline shoulder line length were longer, and S.N.P. scapular back waistline length, back length, back shoulder length, back diagonal length, shoulder line back waistline length were shorter. On the contrary, the front of bent forward posture was shorter and narrower than that of straight posture, and its back neck depth was deeper. The properties of swayback posture were similar to those of bent forward posture. Its front was shorter and narrower, but the results of front neck depth and back neck depth were like those of straight posture.
An Analysis of the Case Study on Fashion Show Planning and Production

The purpose of this study is : first, to examine factors of fashion show planning and production and to classify types of fashion show planning and production: second, to compare and analyze the factors through a case analysis to defined their differences. For the purpose, data are collected to compare and analyze from literature as well as the interview with fashion show planning and production companies in Korea. The result shows that all the factors are considered on a practical level except security and publicity among 15 factors presented in literature : the purpose of the show, target spectators, product selection, product prices, type of show, size, location, models, time of show, duration, theme, security, budget, and publicity. Show types are divided into national brands, designer brands, imported brands, and collections. The result of the comparison and analysis of the factors of the planning and production by type shows that factors vary greatly depending on the purpose of the show, target spectators, and form of the show and products. By analyzing the case study on fashion show planning and production on a practical level, the study recognizing the need of specialized development of fashion show planning in Korea's fashion industry, is a basic process of theory systematization for the planning and production in its marketing aspects, and will provide relevant theories in such aspects for those who want to enter into the field.
A Study on Consumer's Buying-behaviors Types and Brand Loyalty

According as the importance of brand value has increased, it's so significant that we analysis brand loyalty and buying-behavior types in the side of various consumption. Also, it will make it for us to presuppose consumer's buying-behaviors in modem society. As an analytical result of consumer's buying-behavior type, they were divided into four type; price value consciousness type, sale orientation type, price-quality schema type, convenience type. As a result of cluster analysis and one-way ANOVA on the three type of consumer's buying-behavior : Price-orientation type, high quality orientation, convience orientation. And it was found that there was relation between buying-behavior types and brand loyalty. Specially, it was high positive relationship between high quality orientation and brand loyalty, convience orientation and brand loyalty.
The Study of Body Characteristics and Fashion in Fragrance Advertising

The purpose of this study is to investigate ideal body image and clothing style through the analysis of models portrayed in fragrance advertisement that is the representative goods showing the fashion brand image. For this study, 120 perfume advertisements appeared in GQ and Vogue magazines issued in 2002 were selected. The models' characteristics portrayed in advertisement are categorized with role relationship, race, body exposure and clothing styles. The results are as follows. 1. Fragrance advertisements most commonly depict a single model portraying narcissism, and later then most common are advertisements both male and female model in a sexual relationship. 2. The analysis of models' race shows racism toward Asian models and Afro- American models. White models are main characters in fragrance advertisements more often than other races, and in mixed-ethnic ads, whites typically outnumbered minorities. This shows currently aesthetic stereotypes, that is, white ideology still exists. 3. The results of models' body exposure are showing nudism with partially clad or nude. This shows the eroticism of male and female. 4. The highest portion of clothing style appeared in fragrance advertisement were casual wear for male model and dressy formal wear for female models, which respects current fashion trends.
The Related Factors of the Perceived Evaluation of Family Financial Risk Safeguards

The purposes of this study were (1) to assess the perceived evaluation of family financial risk safeguards and (2) to identify demographic variables, financial security and financial communication which were an influence on the perceived evaluation of family financial risk safeguards. The data were collected from 598 housewives using an on-line survey. The major findings of this study were as follows: first, the perceived evaluation of financial risk safeguards was lower than the median(2.80). Especially, the perceived evaluation of financial risk safeguard for children's education had the highest score. Second, the variables which were an influence on the financial communication of husbands and wives were‘financial security’ and ‘years which they have been married’. Third, the perceived evaluation of financial risk safeguards was significantly different according to financial security and the financial communication of husbands and wives.
Research Trend of Home Economics Education since 7th Curriculum

The purpose of this study is try to suggest the practical trend of Home Economics Education by analyzing the trends of subject matter education in it. To do this, this study analyzed 115 articles published on The Journal of Korea Home Economics Education Association and The Journal of Korean Home Economics Association. Through this analyzing them, it is found out that teaching-teaming method and teaching materials are trend to be mainly concerned. But recently evaluation study and teacher education study in Home Economics Education have been increased. As a result, Home Economics Education needs to develop the speciality of Home Economics Education as a subject matter education.
The Comparative Study on Perception and Satisfaction of Somatotype of University Woman Students

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the actual somatotype and perceptual somatotype, and to compare actual somaotype with ideal somatotype, and to explore segmentation based on perception of slim/obese somatotype. The respondents included 201 female student volunteers, aged 19 to 27, who were enrolled at university in Busan. Data were analyzed by paired t-test, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. The results were as follows; The subjects tended to be satisfied with long and slim, slim limbs, and preferred to be tall in height and light in weight. And perceptual somatotype was related to satisfaction of somatotype. Cluster analysis was female college students to identify groups of respondents based on the perception of somatotype(all the body, the upper half of the body, the lower half of the body)difference factors. Based on the finding, three distinct groups were formed: slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, obese tendency group. There were a significant among slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, and obese tendency group base on the perceptual somatotype. There were significant differences among the three groups in terms of perception of somatotype and satisfaction of somatotype.
The Determinants of Disciplinary Practices of Employed and Unemployed Mothers

The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of children, parents, family, and the extra context relate to disciplinary practices and to examine the cumulative effects of positive variables on effective disciplinary practices of employed and unemployed mothers. Disciplinary practices of both employed and unemployed mothers were correlated with number of child, husband support, parenting stress, social support, quality of life, and satisfaction of early childhood program. Parenting stress was the strongest predictor of disciplinary practices for both employed and unemployed mothers. Both employed and unemployed mothers exposed to several positive variables were more likely to exhibit effective disciplinary practices than mothers who were not.
The Relationship between Current Trend of Early Education and Maternal Parental Beliefs, Stress, and Achievement Pressure

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current trend of early education and to examine the relationship between the state of early education and maternal beliefs, stress, and achievement pressure. The subjects were 275 mothers of 4∼6 year-old children in Seoul. The main results were as follows : 1) Most of the subjects' children(87.6%) were involved in early education, especially in the form of home-visit study and study papers. 2) Parental beliefs (about child development and early education) and maternal achievement pressure were significantly related to the degree of actual involvement and perceived necessity of early education. 3) Parental stress regarding child's temperament was significantly related to the starting age of early education. But the other factors of parental stress had no significant relation to the state of early education.
Proposal for the Design of the Oriental Medical Doctor's Gown

Recently the status of oriental medicine in Korea has been more increased as the alternative medicine which overcome the limitations of western medicine. With the increased status, the development of the oriental medical doctor's gown which is distinguished from that of western medical doctor has been brought up among the oriental medical doctors' group since the middle of 1990. We carried out the former study to know the development's direction of the present oriental medical doctor's gown by the survey the requisites for the oriental medical doctor's gown which they want(OK Suh, 2002). We aim to propose the developed design of the oriental medical doctor's gown which meet their request and has honored tradition according to the data of the former survey. As the result of the production designing of the oriental medical doctor's gown considering tradition, practicality, appreciation of the beautiful etc., in our study, we could lead to distribute 800 gowns through the Association of Korean Oriental Medicine supporting by the brand of Amorepacific's Sulhasoo.
Peer Conflict Internal State Talk, and Communicative Strategies in Pretend Play

This study investigated the relationship between conflict issues and resolution strategies in pretend play. Also, the relations among frequency of internal state terms, conflict resolution, and communicative strategies were examined. 704 and 5 year old preschoolers, each paired with self-chosen peer, were observed and videotaped during 20-minute play session. Findings revealed that conflict issues were associated with resolution strategies. Internal state language and communicative strategies were related with conflict resolutions in pretend play, which shared with socio-emotional ability.
The Effects of ICT Teaching Method on Interest in Home Economics, Consciousness on Traditional Culture, Achievement Test, and Performance Assessment in High School Borne Economics Instruction

This research was to verity the effects of ICT teaching method in high school home economics. The research questions for this study were as follows: 1. Is the ICT teaching method effective in increasing students' interest in home economics and consciousness on traditional culture in teaming the unit of ‘Korean traditional culture of home life’？ 2. Is the ICT teaching method effective in improving students' achievement test and performance assessment in teaming the unit of ‘Korean traditional culture of home life’？ This study is carried out with following procedure: developing the homepage and lesson plans for ICT teaching, constructing questionnaire, and testing its reliability, pre-testing, treatment for 8 weeks, and post-testing. Two groups were arranged for 8 weeks experiment from May 7,2001 through June 30,2001. Sixteen hours of ICT teaching and 8 hours of traditional lecture for experiment group whereas 8 hours of ICT teaching and 16 hours of traditional lecture for comparison group were input. SAS program was used for statistical analysis, and independent sample t-test and matched pairs t-test were peformed for answering research questions. The results of this study were as following: 1. Sixteen hours of ICT teaching and 8 hours of traditional lecture for experiment group was effective in increasing consciousness on traditional culture and performance assessment. 2. Eight hours of ICT teaching and 16 hours of traditional lecture for comparison group was not effective in learning home economics. This means that at least 2 hours of ICT teaching is demanding for effective learning. This study concluded that ICT teaching will be effectively applied in high school home economic with well developed ICT teaching materials. And home economics educators should continuously put effort in developing curricular, teaching materials, and teaching methods to raise students' interest in home economics.
The Effect of Household Financial System on Private Education Expenses - Focused on Income Classification -

This study is to investigate the important factor for household private education expenditure. Especially, this study analyzed the influence of financial management characteristics. For this, the income level is classified by comparative poverty and analyzed the influence power The data for this study was "the Korean Labor Panel" conducted by Korea Labor Institute in 2000. The result showed the demographic factors by the income level and financial characteristics have big difference. Also, income level affects private education expenditure. For lower income level, demographic factors affect more than financial factors. This result explained the private education expenditure as luxurious goods. For middle income level, financial factors affect more than demographic factors. This explained the private education expenditure as choice goods. For upper income level, the private education expenditure was explained as investment goods.
The Effects of a Self-Growth Group Counseling Program to Improve Self-Esteem on Children of Group Home

The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of self-growth group counseling program for children in a group home. The results of this study are as follows. First, the self-growth group counseling program was effective to improve self esteem. The most significant increases were seen in the global self-esteem and school-academic self-esteem. Second, the group cohesion and participation frequency of the program were improved, as the session was progressed. Third, as the changes of individual, the understanding and acceptance of oneself and the others are improved. So, impulsivity and aggression became lower, and problem behavior was less.
A Study on Word-of-Mouth Communication of Hairshop Customers

The purpose of this study was to investigate that positive and negative word-of-mouth informations getting hairshop customers have influence on visiting intention of potential consumers. Data were collected from 354 university or college women. The results showed as follows; First, positive word-of-mouth informations that consumers have experienced in using hairshop were employee altitude/technique, consideration in customer's situation, kindness, saving of time/additional service, facilities, rational price, gift service/benefit in conditions of location. Second, negative word-of-mouth informations that consumers have experienced in using hairshop were inconsistent service, service focus on non-customers, irrational price/technique insufficiency/ inadequate compensational system, irrelevance of face-to-face management. Third, in getting positive word-of-mouth informations, consideration in customer's situation, rational price and gift service/benefit in conditions of location, consumers had visiting intention, and in getting negative informations, irrational price/technique insufficiency/inadequate compensational system, consumers had no visiting intention.
Development and Evaluation of Education Program for Post-divorce Adjustment - Focused on the group marathon course -

The purpose of this research was to develop the education program for post-divorce adjustment and to evaluate effectiveness of the program. This program was consisted of eight sessions and applied to divorced parents. It was focused for the understanding of grief processes for adults, recovery by forgiveness, children's responses and coping strategies to divorce, open minded relationship between parents and children, and enhancement of self-esteem to be healthy single parent. Results of paired t-test showed that there were significant differences between pre-test and post-test, and the effectiveness remained until follow-up. In conclusion, this program was thought to be effective for improving self-esteem, divorce coping competency and minimizing of the depressions. Continual education is thought to be necessary for maintaining of the effectiveness to the divorced parents.
