Effect of Consumers` Awareness in Store and Determinants of Consumer Complaint Behavior on Consumer Complaint Intention: Focus on Super Stores and Traditional Markets

Product complaints allow business operators to learn from and solve problems they have been unaware of and prevent customers from leaving in advance. The ability to deal properly with complaints may improve consumer loyalty and repurchase intentions. This study analyzes consumers` intention in complaining behavior towards supermarkets and traditional markets. This study provides implications for business operators in the establishment of marketing strategies to deal with complaints and perform education related to consumer complaints by the verification of variables that influence intention on complaining behavior. A survey was conducted on housewife consumers who had experience using supermarkets and traditional markets. The major results are as follows: first, in store awareness higher in supermarkets than in traditional markets. Second, determinants of consumer complaint behavior, indicated a belief there was a need to spend more money at traditional markets than supermarkets, where the possibility of complaint success and complaint attitudes were found to be low. Third, intention of complaining behavior was lower at traditional markets than supermarkets. Intentions on private complaining behavior and public complaining behavior were both low. Fourth, intention of private behavior is higher than intention of public behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets. Fifth, complaint attitudes were variables with the greatest influence on intention of complaining behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets.
A Study on the Spatial Composition Plan of Social Welfare Centers for the Intergenerational Interactions in Korea

This study analyzes the welfare services and spatial composition of social welfare centers that represent complex welfare facilities in order to provide basic information for the spatial planning of social welfare centers. We examined 15 social welfare centers built in the 2000s. A literature review and case study were used as research methodology. The findings are as follow. First, services provided at the surveyed facilities overlapped for seniors and the handicapped. Most social welfare centers provided welfare services for seniors, young children, and teenagers. Second, the proportion of common area, program rooms was high for spatial composition. Third, front access by car was most common (used at nine centers) for the design of the access area and used by. Fourth, shared entry and exit was most common (used at 10 centers) for the design of the entrance. Fifth, regarding space combining style, a mixed style was most frequently used (observed at seven centers) where different private areas for different service users were partly mixed on certain floors. Sixth, a corridor type was most common (used at seven centers) for the design of a corridor space where visitors could walk along the corridor to access individual rooms. Based on the findings, we propose spatial composition of social welfare centers to promote mingling and exchanges among users of different generations.
Housing Experience of Married Women in Multi-Cultural Families from an Ecological Perspective

This study examined the nature of multi-cultural families` housing problems living in South Korea. A qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews with immigrant women from three Southeast Asian countries. The subjects of this study were 15 married immigrants from the Philippine, Cambodia, and Vietnam living in Seoul. The major findings were as follows: firstly, reciprocity for the in-between person and environment: the preferred to blend into Korean society instead of making a community based on national origin. Secondly, intention to housing: all participants were passive about moving and the Vietnamese and Cambodians placed more importance on the family community than the Filipinas. Thirdly, meaning of housing and interaction: for the most important area in the house, the Vietnamese and Cambodians stated that rooms were for a couple and treated family space more importantly than Filipinas who pursuit personal comfort. Fourthly, housing adaptation process: adapting to climate difference between home countries and Korea was the biggest difficulty. Fifthly, residential satisfaction/dissatisfaction: mostly satisfied with housing facilities; however, they were dissatisfied with the number of rooms and house size due to a necessity for personal space. In conclusion, ideas implied from native country of married immigrants in multicultural families did not change significantly in preference of the current environment. The needs for an ethnic community was not great, because they seemed able to assimilate positively by living with a Korean husband and relatives. Gradual assimilation through a cultural acculturation process can be considered desirable.
Household Characteristics and Housing Deficits of Low-Income Renter Households in Housing Poverty: Focused on the 2014 Korea Housing Survey

This study explored the characteristics, housing deficits and expectations for support programs of low-income renter households in housing poverty in order to provide housing policy development and improvement information. Microdata of the 2014 Korea Housing Survey was utilized as secondary data for this study. A total of 2,508,672 low-income renter households (weighted count) in the bottom 40% income ranks of entire general households living in private rental units were selected as study subjects. The major findings were as follows. (1) One point four percent of the subjects were living in non-house living quarters (e.g., shanties, vinyl greenhouses, container houses, and mud huts), 1.4% were in dosshouses, 9.9% were in basements, semi-basements or rooftop units, and 8.2% were in sub-standard units. (2) Among the households whose housing costs burdens were measurable, 75.7% were found to have housing cost burdens to pay 30% or more of their household income towards housing costs (rental costs and maintenance costs), but only 7.5% of the burdened households received a housing voucher. (3) Eighty-one percent were found to be in a housing poverty status as defined by the researcher; in addition, low-income renter households in housing poverty in Seoul tended to have a greater proportion of households headed by females, the elderly, and be persons with low-education or disabilities. (4) Households in housing poverty showed greater expectations for financial support and/or extended provisions of public rental housing than other low-income renter households.
A Study on the Marital Relationship Enhancement Programs: Focused on Participation Motivation, Education Satisfaction, Positive Behavioral Intention

This study analyzes the correlations of participation motivation, education satisfaction, and positive behavioral intention for participants in marriage enrichment programs. The survey response results for 193 participants in marriage enrichment programs were analyzed with the statistics analysis application IBM SPSS 20.0. The findings of this study are as follows. An examination of relative influence of participation motivation and education satisfaction with the positive behavioral intention of participants in marriage enrichment programs indicated that internal motivation had a positive influence on education satisfaction, external motivation had a negative influence on satisfaction for facility environment and satisfaction with employee service, and motivation had positive influence only on facility environment. An examination of the influence of participation motivation and education satisfaction with the positive behavioral intention of the participants in marriage enrichment programs indicated that internal motivation and external motivation had a high positive influence on positive behavioral intention. However, motivation did not have a significant influence on behavior after participation. In education satisfaction, satisfaction with content, satisfaction with instructor, and satisfaction with employee service had a positive influence on positive behavioral intention, however, satisfaction with facility environment had negative influence on positive behavioral intention.
Influence of Parenting Style as Perceived by Adult Child on Perspective of Marriage: The Mediation Effect of Recognize Gender Roles

This study use the influences of parenting style as perceived by and adult child and recognizes gender roles for the purpose of marriage perspectives. I provided a general tendency of parenting style as perceived by and adult child, recognize gender roles, and perspective of marriage to achieve the established goals. We analyzed the relative influence of socio-demographic characteristics, parenting style as perceived by and adult child and recognize gender roles for marriage perspectives. Finally, parenting style as perceived by and adult child are recognized gender roles mediated by the investigated influence of marriage perspectives. We used a structured questionnaire that targeted unmarried men and women 20 to 30 years of age to verify the this study. Data analysis used SPSS ver. 19.0; in addition, we performed reliability, frequency analysis, t-test, hierarchical regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, and variance inflation factor. Looking at these results, both adult children had a higher perception of rearing parents with the usual recognition of gender roles. The analysis indicated a conservative perspective of marriage. Adult children of mothers rearing and recognize gender roles sub-area of masculinity and femininity are perceived to be a significant change observed in marriage perspectives in addition to socio-demographic characteristics of gender and education. However, the relationship between parenting style, as perceived by adult child and marriage perspectives and as analyzed by recognize gender roles, did not have a mediating effect.
Mediating Effects of Self-Efficacy and Career Maturity on the Relationship of Parental Attachment and Job Seeking Stress of College Students: Focus on Multi Group Analysis between University and Junior College

This study investigates the effect of parental attachment on job seeking stress among the university students and junior college students. We explore the mediating effects of self-efficacy and career maturity on the relations between parental attachment and job seeking stress. We selected 292 university students and 285 junior college students as participants from Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. All participants completed surveys on the measurement of parental attachment, self-efficacy, career maturity, and job seeking stress. Collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson`s correlation, structural equational models, and Sobel test with SPSS software ver. 18.0 and Amos software ver. 18.0. The major findings are as follow. First, parental attachment had no significant effect on job seeking stress. Second, self-efficacy and career maturity mediated between parental attachment and job seeking stress. In addition, there were significant differences between university students and junior college students regarding the relation between parental attachment and job seeking stress. Junior college student`s career maturity had a greater influence than that of the university students. The findings of this study suggest that intervention to address self-efficacy and career maturity are important to resolve college students` job seeking stress; in addition, school type should be considered to understand job seeking stress.
Fashion Consumers` Purchase Decision-Making Styles Related to the Enneagram Core Values and Self-Construal Levels

This study investigated a conceptual framework of fashion consumers` purchase decision-making styles related to behavioral typology of personality. In response to critiques on fragmented and varied use of personality measurements, this study selectively tested and verified an alternative typological model of Enneagram value systems and self-construal levels that could explain the fashion consumers` typological propensities in purchase decision-making. One hundred-item measurement scale for the fashion consumers` purchase decision-making styles was developed based on the extensive literature. Three groups of fashion major students, a total of 107 participants, who respectively participated in 2-hour-long Enneagrams seminars from spring 2013 to fall 2014, were asked to re-sentence the question items to clearly reflect their Enneagram personality to make purchase decisions. Participants described their propensities in their own words about the most comfortable state during the 5-step processes of the purchase decision making process. The revised scale was distributed to 423 participants in January 2016, and the results verified the group differences in various styles in the process of purchase decision-making corresponding to the typological variables discussed in Enneagram. The correlation between Enneagram core values embodied by fashion consumers during the stages of purchase decision-making in extensive levels of self-construal were verified in the context of their fashion decision making. This study found the possibility of the typological approach toward Enneagram types of personality to be applicable to explain and predict peculiar facets of fashion consumers` purchase decision-making styles.
