Fault Location Algorithm with Ground Capacitance Compensation for Long Parallel Transmission Line

This paper deals with an improved fault location algorithm with compensation ground capacitance through distributed parameter for a long parallel T/L. For the purpose of fault locating algorithm non-influenced by source impedance and fault resistance, the loop method was used in the system modeling analysis. This algorithm uses a positive and negative sequence of the fault current for high accuracy of fault locating calculation. Power system model of 160km and 300km long parallel T/L was simulated using EMTP software. To evaluate of the proposed algorithm, we used the several different cases 64 sampled data per cycle. The test results show that the proposed algorithm was minimized the error factor and speed of fault location estimation.
Analysis and Design of DC-DC Converter with Independent Dual Outputs

The proposed dual-output DC-DC converter that bases on flyback converter can obtain two output voltage with non-isolated main-output and isolated sub-output at the same time using single-winding high frequency transformer. It can solve problems in multi-winding converter that use one main-switch, and also control quality of isolated sub-output voltage can be improved by additional sub-switch to the second. For analysis and design of the proposed converter system, converters are classified as operation mode from switching state and are become modeling by applying state space averaging method. Steady-state characteristics and dynamic characteristics are analyzed by DC component and perturbation component from state space averaging model. From experiment converter, validity of analysis and design for the propose converter system is confirm.
A New Control Scheme for Maintaining Balanced DC Voltages in Static Var Compensator(SVC) Using Cascade Multilevel Inverter

This paper examines the application of high voltage static var compensator(SVC) with cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI). A new switching scheme is developed for the SVC system. To improve the unbalanced problem of the DC capacitor voltages, the rotated switching scheme of fundamental frequency is newly used. The optimized fundamental switching pattern with low switching frequency is adapted to be suitable for high application. The selective harmonic elimination method(SHEM) allows to keep the total harmonic distortion(THD) low in the output voltage of multilevel inverter. The SVC system is modeled using the d-q transform which calculates the instantaneous reactive power. This model is used to design a controller and analyze the SVC system. Simulated and experimental results are also presented and discussed to validate the proposed schemes.
Maximum Torque Control of SynRM Drive with Artificial Neural Network

In this paper, a new approach for the Synchronous Reluctance Motor control which ensures producing Maximum Torque per Ampere(MTPA) over the entire field weakening region is presented. In addition, This paper presents a speed sensorless control scheme of SynRM using artificial neural network. Also, by adjusting the base speed for the field weakening operation according to the flux level, the current and voltage limit, the smooth and precise transition into the field weakening operation can be achieved. The proposed scheme is verified validity through simulation.
Simulator Development for Training Auxiliary Power Supply in Electric Rolling Stock

This paper presents a development of the auxiliary power supply simulator for a electric rolling stock. An auxiliary power supplies are required for operating air conditioning units, ventilation fans, lighting and battery charging. Traditionally this function has been fulfilled by Motor-Alternator sets. In recent years, high performance of semiconductor and micro processor, availability and price have made three phase voltage source inverters as an attractive alternative to MA Sets. From the baseline model of the SIV(Static InVerter) for electric rolling stock, we designed the scale down model of the auxiliary power supply simulator consisting of an IGBT three phase voltage source inverter. The auxiliary power supply simulator can be used educatory purpose for training efficiently about operating principles of SIV.

The simulation of hydraulic pressure distribution of discharge tube with globular beads and the removal characteristics of Escherichia coli by the discharge tube with globular beads were estimated. The removal characteristic of Escherichia coli was related to the input voltage because the electric field is increased according to input voltage. As the passing amount of test water in discharge tube is increased, the removal ratio of Escherichia coli was increased because passing numbers of electric field section is increased.

Design of an Adaptive Backstepping Speed Controller for the Wind Power Generation System

In this paper a robust controller using adaptive backstepping technique is proposed to control the speed of wind power generation system. To make wind power generation truly cost effective and reliable, advanced and robust control algorithms are derived to on-line adjust the excitation winding voltage of the generator based on both mechanical and electrical dynamics. This method is shown to be able to achieve smooth and asymptotic rotor speed tracking, as justified by analysis and computer simulation.
A Secure Protocol for High-Performance RFID Tag

In this paper, we have proposed a secure dynamic ID allocation protocol using mutual authentication on the RFID tag. Currently, there are many security protocols focused on the low-price RFID tag. The conventional low-price tags have limitation of computing power and rewritability of memory. The proposed secure dynamic ID allocation protocol targets to the high-performance RFID tags which have more powerful performance than conventional low-price tag by allocating a dynamic ID to RFID using mutual authentication based on symmetric encryption algorithm. This protocol can be used as a partial solution for ID tracing and forgery.
Development of Bidirectional Pulse Power Electrochemical Etching System for the Groove Manufacturing of the Dynamic Bearings

This paper presents a bidirectional pulse power electrochemical etching system for groove manufacturing of the dynamic bearings. To manufacture the dynamic bearing for the groove, it is very important to consider the depth and roughness. If the precision of the groove is not exact, we can not get the desirable performance for the target of the dynamic bearing. To make the groove of bearing precise, we propose the method of electrochemical etching system. In order to design the depth and roughness exactly, the bidirectional pulse power converter is proposed. With the bidirectional pulse power converter, we obtain the condition and the parameters of converter such as frequency, duty ratio, time, temperature, velocity, pressure and so on. In this paper, we get the experimental results to verify the precise groove manufacturing.
