Study on the Electron Transport Coefficient in Mixtures of

Study on the electron transport coefficient in mixtures of CF4 and Ar, have been analyzed over a range of the reduced electric field strength between 0.1 and 350[Td] by the two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation (BEq.) method and the Monte Carlo simulation (MCS). The calculations of electron swarm parameters require the knowledge of several collision cross-sections of electron beam. Thus, published momentum transfer, ionization, vibration, attachment, electronic excitation, and dissociation cross-sections of electrons for
and Ar, were used. The differences of the transport coefficients of electrons in
mixtures of Ar, have been explained by the deduced energy distribution functions for electrons and the complete collision cross-sections for electrons. The results of the Boltzmann equation and the Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with the data presented by several workers. The deduced transport coefficients for electrons agree reasonably well with the experimental and simulation data obtained by Nakamura and Hayashi. The energy distribution function of electrons in
mixtures shows the Maxwellian distribution for energy. That is,
has the symmetrical shape whose axis of symmetry is a most probably energy. The proposed theoretical simulation techniques in this work will be useful to predict the fundamental process of charged particles and the breakdown properties of gas mixtures. A two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation analysis and Monte Carlo simulation have been used to study electron transport coefficients.
Design of a Speed Controller for the Separately Excited DC Motor in Application on Pure Electric Vehicles

In this paper, an robust adaptive backstepping controller is proposed for the speed control of separately excited DC motor in pure electric vehicles. A general electric drive train of PEV is conceptually rearrange to major subsystems as electric propulsion, energy source, and auxiliary subsystem and the load torque is modeled by considering the aerodynamic, rolling resistance and grading resistance. Armature and field resistance, damping coefficient and load torque are considered as uncertainties and noise generated at applying load torque to motor is also considered. It shows that the backstepping algorithm can be used to solve the problems of nonlinear system very well and robust controller can be designed without the variation of adaptive law. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
IEC61850 Process Bus Based Distributed Power Quality Monitoring

In this paper, authors deal with an application of power quality monitoring using the Sampled Value which is described in the IEC61850 International Standard for substation communication. Firstly, while Merging Unit is designed as a process level device transmitting sensor data, the practical problems such as time delay compensation and optical fiber communication are issued. Secondly, the Sampled Value message which is proper to a power quality monitoring system is presented. Because the power quality monitoring system requests non time critical service comparing to protection and control applications, the Sampled Value service message structure is introduced to improve efficiency. At last, the power quality monitoring server having various power quality analysis functions is suggested to verify the performance of Merging Unit. With the diverse experiments, it is proved that the process bus distributed solution is flexible and economic for the power quality monitoring.
Low Cost Digital X-Ray Image Capture System Using CCD Camera

We developed a low cost digital X-Ray image capturing system using a CCD camera, instead of using the high cost image plate and image intensifier. In order to reduce the system volume, we directly made the dark box shorter than the previous model. Using the graphic language, we developed a program in order for post-processing the images captured by the CCD camera. This program improves the image resolving power.
A Review on Two-Phase Flow Analysis using Chaos Theory

This article presents a review on chaos analysis of two-phase flow. Chaos theory has recently been applied to two-phase flow analysis, and it gives promising measures to quantitatively identify two-phase flow patterns and pool boiling behaviors. But, consistency of the calculated chaotic measures were not completely confirmed yet. More experimental data are requested for chaos analysis of two-phase flow. Also, chaos analysis methodology should be developed by experimental verification.
Design of A Faulty Data Recovery System based on Sensor Network

Sensor networks are usually composed of tens or thousands of tiny devices with limited resources. Because of their limited resources, many researchers have studied on the energy management in the WSNs(Wireless Sensor Networks), especially taking into account communications efficiency. For effective data transmission and sensor fault detection in sensor network environment, a new remote monitoring system based on PCA(Principle Component Analysis) and AANN(Auto Associative Neural Network) is proposed. PCA and AANN have emerged as a useful tool for data compression and identification of abnormal data. Proposed system can be effectively applied to sensor network working in LEA2C(Low Energy Adaptive Connectionist Clustering) routing algorithms. To verify its applicability, some simulation studies on the data obtained from real WSNs are executed.
Copper Oxide Growing Characteristics of PVC Insulated Wire and Application to the Fire Investigation

This paper describes characteristics for copper oxide growth of polyvinyl chloride(PVC) insulated wires by series arc. In this experiment, 600V IV wires were used, and characteristics of oxide growth and ignition process were analyzed in case load was 300W, 460W and 600W, respectively. In the result of experiment, covering materials were molten, carbonized and ignited, whereas, oxidized materials were grown in conducting material. During copper oxide was growing, contact voltages and power dissipations increased. When there is copper oxide growth, the waveform of current showed sinusoidal waveform, and the waveform of voltage showed modified waveform. Oxidized materials were heated at about
, surface structure showed irregular shapes, and cross-section showed multiple cracks. And, the results of this experiment were applied to the fire cause analysis of fire evidence collected at the fire scene.
Research on Improvement of Power Control System of Cold & Hot Water Purifier

In this paper, this paper discusses how to improve the power control system of cold and hot water purifiers, in particular, system protecting device against abnormal voltage. The existing power supply control system came with a protecting device composed of varistor device only for impulse-type surges. Even though the existing system senses surge other than impulse-type, the system can not be protected. Accordingly, a new type of power control system was designed to protect the system from surge and ultimately prevent electricity accidents. The power control system suggested in this paper will be designed to protect the system by sensing input voltage and discontinuing power supply by means of SSR if voltage exceeding set value is sensed. To test the designed system, surge was imposed on the existing system and processes of system failure were experimented before safety of the designed power control system was simulated via P-spice program developed by Orcad in order to examine safety and reliability of the system.
The Development of Portable Rotor Bar Fault Diagnosis System for Three Phase Small Induction Motors Using LabVIEW

In this paper, a portable rotor bar fault diagnosis system for small 3 phase induction motors is suggested. For portable real-tine diagnosis system, an USB-DAQ board for collecting the 3 phase current data, three current probes, and a notebook computer are used. The LabVIEW graphical language is used for filtering, analysis, storing, and monitoring the current data. The three phase stator current are filtered and transformed to frequency level by FIT. An analysis window programed by LabVIEW is located in front panel to show the FIT results and this suggested window has a zooming function to detect the fault feature more easily near the feature frequency range which is varying by the slip frequency. To show the possibility of portable rotor bar diagnosis system, three types(healthy, one rotor bar fault, two rotor bar fault) of rotor bar are intentionally prepared and compared by the suggested window of front panel. Experimental results are shown that a suggested diagnosis system is applicable to portable diagnosis system and the rotor bar fault is detected by the frequency window in front panel programed in LabVIEW graphical language.
UsN based Soundness Monitoring Diagnosis System of Power Transmission Steel Tower

In this paper, design method for power tower hazard diagnosis/predition system based on UsN was proposed. The proposed method used multi-hybrid sensors to measure rotation, displacement, and inclination state of power tower, and made decision/prediction of hazard of power tower. System design was made with requirement analysis of monitoring for transmission power facility and use of MEMS and optic fiber sensors. For hazard decision, analysis of correlation was made using sensor output. LN based on IEC61850,international standard for digital substation, was also proposed. For transmission facility monitoring, digital substation and power tower were considered as parts of power facility networks.
