Development of Voltage Regulator and Pulse Charger Using Pulse Current for Reuse of the Waste Lead Acid Battery

In this study, the pulse charger and voltage regulator are proposed that can reuse the waste lead acid battery. The first we develop the voltage regulator that can reuse the waste lead battery. And the pulse current is applied to the terminal of the waste lead acid battery. The voltage regulator is available principle of the pulse current which can reduce the sulfate to incipient material such as Pb and PbO2. Therefore the internal resistance of the lead acid battery is decreased, the performance of the lead acid battery is improved and the durability is prolonged. The second we develop the pulse charger using the voltage regulator. The pulse charger uses the switch mode of the forward convert method. The pulse charger maintain the constant voltage in state removing the lead acid battery and when it connected the pulse charger, it is converted the charge mode of the constant current immediately. It continues the rapid charge until the full state of the lead acid battery. After that the pulse charger is converted to the charge mode of constant voltage automatically, and then it continues the normal charge. The experiment results show that the effectiveness of the voltage regulator and pulse charger such as the good performance and the prolonged durability in lead acid battery of the small and large capacity.
Efficiency Optimization Control of IPMSM with Adaptive FLC-FNN Controller

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. This paper proposes efficiency optimization control of IPMSM drive using adaptive fuzzy learning control fuzzy neural network (AFLC-FNN) controller. In order to maximize the efficiency in such applications, this paper proposes the optimal control method of the armature current. The controllable electrical loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss can be minimized by the optimal control of the armature current. The minimization of loss is possible to realize efficiency optimization control for the proposed IPMSM. The optimal current can be decided according to the operating speed and the load conditions. This paper considers the design and implementation of novel technique of high performance speed control for IPMSM using AFLC-FNN controller. Also, this paper proposes speed control of IPMSM using AFLC-FNN and estimation of speed using ANN controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system controlled AFLC-FNN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by efficiency optimization control are examined in detail.
Output LC Filter Design of Single Phase Voltage Source Inverter Used for Uninterruptible Power Supply

The LC filter design procedure of the inverter output filter is described. The transfer function of the filter output voltage to the load current is described with the capacitor value and the system time constant considering the system controller. By using the closed form of the relation between the filter capacitor value and the system time constant, the capacitor value can be calculated with the given system time constant and vice versa. It is more practical for the implementation of power and control circuit of inverter. And as the effect of the load current to the voltage distortion can be calculated from the closed form, it is possible to analyze the system how much the voltage waveform is distorted in case of the nonlinear load. All the proposed design procedure is verified with the simulation and experimental results.
A Voltage Bus Conditioner for a High Voltage DC Power Distribution System using High Performance Hysteresis Control

More and All-Electric Aircraft (AEA) carry many loads with varied functions. In particular, there may be large pulsed loads with short duty ratio, which can affect the normal operation of other loads. In this paper, a bi-directional converter with inductive storage is used as a voltage bus conditioner (VBC) to mitigate voltage transients on the bus. In addition, the constant frequency hysteresis control technique for a VBC is presented. A simple and fast prediction of the hysteresis band-width is implemented by the phase-lock loop control, keeping constant switching frequency. This technique offers the excellent dynamic response in load or parameter variation. The control performance is illustrated by simulated results with the SABER package, The proposed hysteresis control results in the shortest and the smallest excursions.
The Development of PC based Panel Working Security System using Industrial Ethernet

In this paper, one type of a security system for panel working is suggested. The industrial Ethernet is used for open-close door control of the working panel and for monitoring the working panel is correct or not. Especially to upgrade the security system, a remote approval function of panel working by using the given approval number, a remote monitoring function for checking the approved panel is currently working or not, and an alarming function for keying the unapproved number or opening the disapproved panel, are added for preventing and reducing the intentional working error. Also the worker and working time are stored in PC automatically in exel file for detecting the working error. To show the possibility of suggested security system. two-working panel system is prepared and studied.
Research on Buried Depth Dependent Characteristics of Potential Rise for Structure

This paper deals with an approach to the reduction of potential rise according to the buried depth of structure. In order to analyze the surface potential rise of structure, an electrolytic tank which simulates the semi-infinite earth has been used. The potential rise has been measured and analyzed for types of structure using an electrolytic tank experimental apparatus in real time. The structure models were designed through reducing real buildings and fabricated with four types on a scale of one-one hundred sixty. When a test current flowed through structure models, potential gradient was the highest value in case of the outline frame type(structure model A). The distributions of surface potential rise are dependent on the resistivity and absorption percentage in concrete attached to structure model.
Trust Analysis of Ground Resistance Measurements by the Substitute Auxiliary Electrode

This paper summarize about the auxiliary electrode measured a ground resistance. The method to measure a ground resistance is the fall-of-potential method to using an auxiliary electrode. And an auxiliary electrode must be set up on the ground. Today it is so difficult to set up the auxiliary electrode on the ground because of many concrete building and many paved roads. So this paper is regarding a trust analysis of the ground resistance measurement by the substitute auxiliary electrode. It substituted a iron structure around the building, a neutral line multiplex ground to earth, a wire net for auxiliary electrode. This information is confirmed bv compared with the measurement value.
