DC and AC Characterization of Metals Conductivity using the van der Pauw Measurement Method

The van der Pauw technique is one of the popular methods for determining the conductivity of flat metal samples. Traceability of the national standard for the conductivity has been achieved by direct current measurement techniques in national measurement institutes of many countries. But recently, alternative current measurement techniques for determining the conductivity of flat metal samples is also interested. In this study, we measured the conductivity of non-ferrous and ferrous flat metals at alternative current using van der Pauw technique. As measurement results, the conductivities of the samples were decreased according to increasing the test frequency even though the decreasing ratio was different.
Dynamic Walking Control of Biped Walking Robot using Intelligent Control Method and Sensor Interface

This paper introduces a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot using intelligent sensor interface and shows an intelligent control method for biped walking robot. For the dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, serious motion controllers are used. They are main controller(using INTEL80C296SA MPU), sub controller(using TMS320LF2406 DSP), sensor controller(using Atmega128 MPU) etc. The used sensors are gyro sensor, tilt sensor, infrared sensor, FSR sensor etc. For the feasibility of a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, we use the biped walking robot which has twenty-five degrees of freedom(D.O.F.) in total. Our biped robot is composed of two legs of six D.O.F. each, two arms of five D.O.F. each, a waist of two D.O.F., a head of one D.O.F.

The global environment deteriorating which originated from using of fossil fuel is an serious problem for human being to solve. The photovoltaic energy has been considered as a solution. In advanced countries, research and development for photovoltaic(PV) energy system is carrying on. Once installed, a PV array requires maintenance and fault diagnosis other than an occasional cleaning. In this research, the proposed system monitor and diagnosis the output of PV array by on-line for maintenance of PV power plant. The validity of proposed system is verified using sample system.
Inverter Systems of Constant Current Regulate by Using Advanced Measurement and Switching Techniques

As development of industry is accelerated, most electricity load system requires power supply that could be high precision and effective control. Among supply and control unit of suitable power supply in these load characteristic, inverter systems of constant current regulate is used widely control of lighting & beaconing of aerodromes and electric heating system. Therefore, in this paper proposed a inverter systems of constant current regulate that using improved measurement and switching techniques. Proposed measure techniques that used moving average method of instantaneous r.m.s. for measuring current sensing improved response and precision. Also, in this paper proposed improved high effectiveness switching techniques that get high efficiency of inverter by the double-carrier modulation. Results of an experiment proved effect of proposed system.
A Study on Simulator for Computing Demand Rate Considering a Transformer Capacity

In this paper, the method of computing demand rate with respect to a transformer capacity is proposed and addressed to predict a future demand rate. The simulation data are taken from switchgears of a real medium voltage transformer. Data taken from the electrical instrument at 22.9 kVY power receiving panels are employed to evaluate the correlation between demand rate and power usage of transformer. It is verified a usefulness with respect to an proposed index of demand rate for transformer by using a least square error of regressive modeling, As a result of investigation and simulation on the spot to a few buildings, it is considered that there is necessity to make a partial amendment of demand rate being applicable currently for electrical energy saving in domestic.
Characteristic Comparison Analysis for Standard and High-Efficiency Induction Motor

This paper presents an analysis on the power characteristics of standard and high-efficiency induction motor. The parameter of induction motor play an important role in the expression of machine's performance characteristics. Induction motor can be differently found its characteristics parameters with the operation under the same capacity. So it is very difficult to detect correct parameter of induction motor. For the analysis, we discovered the motor parameters by the technical program with nameplate data. In this paper, we analyzed that how power and torque characteristics of induction motor would be changed for two kinds of motor parameters.

Countermeasures for Preventing Electric Shock in Low-Voltage Handhole

This paper describes the countermeasures for preventing the electric shock which can be occurred in the low-voltage handhole underwater. Low-voltage handholes were designed and made for the test in the testing field. Which were installed 4 cases. a metal handhole cover was employed in case 1; FRP(Fiber glass Reinforced Plastic) handhole cover in case 2; an insulated rubber was put on the joint of the cables in case 3; the exposed conductors(cover, frame etc) were commoned and grounded in case 4. Thus, an ground potential near the low-voltage handhole was measured and evaluated quantitatively for the 4 cases. The measured results show that the potential of case 2.3 were lower than that of case 1 because the insulated rubber and the FRP cover prevented direct contact to the fault point. The case 4 is the lowest among the 4 cases because the common and grounding helps the fault current release into the ground, which makes the ground potential rise lower. As a result, although each case has the defects, these ways can effectively lower the electric shock risk in the low-voltage handhole.
