The Effects of Self-Regulated Learning Abilities and Problem Solving Ability of College Electrical Information Control Freshmen on Academic Achievement

The main purpose of this study was to examine the learning abilities of college electrical students, especially self-regulated learning abilities and problem solving ability. In addition, this study was to explore the effects of self-regulated learning abilities and problem solving ability of the college students on academic achievement. For this purpose, a total of 58 college freshmen was chosen to conduct a survey. The results of this study showed that self-regulated learning abilities and problem solving ability significantly influenced on the college engineering students' academic achievement. Based on these study results, the above variables investigated in this study should sufficiently considered in the design and development of the college engineering courses that enable students to become self-regulated learners and improve their academic achievement.
Residential Load Modeling Method Based on Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

In this study, we proposed a residential load modeling method based on neuro-fuzzy inference system by considering of various harmonics. The developed method was implemented by using harmonic information, fundamental frequency and voltage which are essential input factors in conventional method. Thus, the proposed method makes it possible to effectively estimate load characteristics in power lines with harmonics. To show the effectiveness, the proposed method has been intensively tested with various dataset acquired under the different frequency and voltage and compared it with a conventional method based on neural networks.
An Improved Adaptive Control Technique for the Voltage Bus Conditioner with the Reduced Capacitive Storage

More and all-electric aircraft (AEA) carry many loads with varied functions. In particular, there may be large pulsed loads with short duty ratios which can affect the normal operation of other loads. In this paper, a converter with spilt capacitors and an improved adaptive controller is used as the Voltage Bus Conditioner (VBC) with the reduced capacitive storage to mitigate the voltage transients on the bus. The proposed converter allows the smaller capacitive storage. Also, the proposed controller has the advantage of requiring only one sensor and performing both the functions of mitigating the voltage bus transients and maintaining the level of energy stored. Experimental results are presented which verify the control principles and demonstrate the practicality of the approach.
A High-Efficiency Driver Design for Mobile Digital Audio Speakers

In this paper, we designed Interpolation FIR(Finite Impulse Response) filter and 1-bit SDM(Sigma- Delta Modulator) for small digital audio speaker, which has low power consumption and high output characteristics. In order to achieve high linearity and low distortion performance of the systems, we adopt Type I Chevychev FIR filter which has equiripple characteristics in the pass band and proposed high efficient FIR filter structure. SDM is the most efficient modulation technique among the noise shaping techniques. In this paper, we implemented SDM using CIFB(Cascade of Intergrators, Feed-Back) which is generally used in DAC of small digital audio speakers. The proposed SDM structure can achieve high SNR, high-efficiency characteristics and low power consumption in mobile devices. Also considering manufacture of SoC(System on Chip), we performed simulation with Matlab and Verilog HDL to obtain optimal number of operational bits and verified a good experimental results.

In this paper, the electron transport characteristics in
has been analysed over the E/N range 1~300[Td] by a two-term approximation Boltzmann equation method and by a Monte Carlo simulation. The motion has been calculated to give swarm parameters for the electron drift velocity, longitudinal diffusion coefficient, the ratio of the diffusion coefficient to the mobility, electron ionization and attachment coefficients, effective ionization coefficient, mean energy, collision frequency and the electron energy distribution function. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in
at E/N=5, 10, 100, 200 and 300[Td] for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy and respective set of electron collision cross sections. The results of Boltzmann equation and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with experimental data by Y. Nakamura and M. Hayashi. The swarm parameter from the swarm study are expected to serve as a critical test of current theories of low energy electron scattering by atoms and molecules, in particular, as well as crucial information for quantitative simulations of weakly ionized plasmas.
The Study on Autonomous State Estimator for Smart Grid

In this study, authors have proposed the autonomous state estimation which has been composed with IEC61850, GPS time synchronization and objective model design concept. The proposed method is able to supervise/correct measurement and communication error from SCADA. The major advantages of the proposed autonomous state estimation are that it is possible to evaluate integrity of data measured and transferred from SCADA, to reduce human intervention and to expense national-size applications such as EMS (Energy Management System), WAMS (Wide Area Monitoring System) or WAPS (Wide Area Protection System). This study addresses the issues related to the operation of the smart grid and proposes a new automated approach to achieve this goal. Through applying the proposed system to IEEE 14-bus test electric system, we prove the possibility of the proposed idea.
HSPA/HSPA+ Terminal Signal Measurement Algorithm and Software

HSPA(High Speed Packet Access)/HSPA+ is a combined 3GPP(Third Generation Partnership Project) standard of HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HSUPA(High Speed Uplink Packet Access). The standard can provide the high speed multimedia service against the 3GPP release 99 standard. In order to test the 3GPP HSPA/HSPA+ terminal performance, the measurement hardware is required for the evaluate the transmitted signal of HSPA/HSPA+ terminals. Agilent Technologies and Innowireless produce the measurement equipments for HSPA/HSPA+ terminals. Generally speaking, the receiving algorithms in normal modems cannot be used directly to the measurement system due to the lack of the algorithm accuracy. In this paper, we propose the new receiver algorithm for precise measurement of 3GPP HSPA/HSPA+ terminal signal, and implement measurement functionality for performance measurement of the 3GPP HSPA/HSPA+ terminal by using software. The proposed 3GPP HSPA/HSPA+ signal measurement algorithm can be used for the commercial system through code execution speed optimization.
Properties of Epoxy Based Nanocomposites and their Application to High Efficiency Electric Materials

Recently, research works for electrical properties on the elastic epoxy have been also progressing to diagnose insulation materials by development of measure technology. The epoxy which specially applied for high voltage instruments have required for the electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. Nanocomposites were made from insulating material epoxy resin using for power transformer as varying g amount of addition of SiO2, we found the change of physical characteristics of nanocomposites by using SEM and XRD. To investigate the electrical properties according to the amount of addition and temperature, tested insulting breakdown in silicon oil. As the result of insulting breakdown testing, the insulting breakdown strength increased according to change of the amount of addition.
Driving Algorithm on Three Phase BLDC Motor Applied 4-Switch using Voltage Doubler

Over the years, traditionally, six-switch three-phase inverters have been widely utilized for variable speed alternating current motor drives. Recently, some efforts have been made on the application of four-switch three phase inverter for uninterruptible power supply and variable speed drives. This is due to some advantages of the four-switch three phase inverter over the conventional six-switch three-phase inverters such as reduced price due to reduction in number of switches, reduced switching losses, reduced number of interface circuits to supply logic signals for the switches, simpler control algorithms to generate logic signals, less chances of destroying the switches due to lesser interaction among switches, and less real-time computational burden. However such as slow di/dt and speed limitation, are the inherent characteristics and main drawbacks of the four-switch configuration. Those problems can be overcome in conjugation with Voltage-doublers which has additional advantage, such as unity power factor correction.
