Preliminary Hazard Analysis for Near Surface Transit Signal System

To achieve the safety and reliability, RAMS activity for a railway signal system of Near Surface Transit is studied. In this paper, preliminary hazard analysis in RAMS activities is studied for the railway signal system of Near Surface Transit. Preliminary hazard analysis is done through automatic train protection, automatic train operation and automatic train supervision. The hazards are defined, then causes and consequence for each hazard are defined. The total 75 preliminary hazards are classified. For high severity hazards are changed to acceptable level by upgrading of system requirement specification.
Power Quality Disturbance Generator with Phase Jump for the Test of Microgrid

This paper describes a power quality disturbance generator for the test of a microgrid. The generator provides phase-angle jump as well as voltage sag with simple structure. The main components of the generator are SCR thyristors and transformers, therefore, high reliability and high efficiency can be obtained without switching losses. The operating principle of the proposed scheme is described and the voltage and current characteristics in case of voltage sag with phase-angle jump is analyzed. The usefulness of the proposed topology is verified through simulations and experimental results.
Analysis on Recloser-Fuse Coordination in Loop Power Distribution System with Superconducting Fault Current Limiters

Recently, protection coordination issues can occur due to increased fault current in power system when power system being changed radial power system to grid system such as loop power system, micro grid and smart grid. This paper analyzed Recloser-Fuse coordination in loop power distribution system with Superconducting Fault Current Limiters(SFCLs) when single line ground fault occur in loop power distribution system with SFCLs. We analyzed Recloser-Fuse Coordination in radial power distribution system and changed coordination caused by increased Fault current because of loop system when single line ground fault occur in power distribution system. This paper simulated to improve changed coordination using SFCLs in loop power distribution system. Power distribution system, SFCLs and protective devices are modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC.
A Step Type Dipole Antenna with Tapered Balun by CPW-fed to CPS

In this paper, a step type driver dipole antenna with a tapered balance and unbalance (balun) by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) to coplanar strip (CPS) transition is proposed. The proposed antenna consisted of step type driver, a CPW to CPS transition and tapered balun. The proposed antenna is realized the multi and wide resonate frequency band to introduce the step type driver and tapered balun. The step type driver is acted as a director too. This antenna could be more easily designed than the conventional printed quasi-Yagi dipole antenna. The operating frequency bandwidth was 650 [MHz] (2.65~3.3 GHz), 900 [MHz] (4.7~5.6 GHz) under a return-loss criterion of less than 10 dB. The measurements of the proposed antenna exhibited good results in the wideband operating frequency and radiation pattern. The proposed antenna can support wireless communications applications.
Development of Doppler Radar Using Compact Dual-Circularly Polarized Antenna

In this paper, we developed the compact Doppler radar using the compact dual-circularly polarized antenna for medical application. The operating frequency is 2.47 GHz for considering ISM band. In order to decrease the size of the entire system, we designed the compact antenna and located the circuit board at the back of the antenna. The simulation of the proposed antenna was performed by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The total volume of the proposed system is
including the antenna. From the experiment, the developed bio-radar could be used to support the device for medical applications.
Diffusion Coefficients for Electrons in SF

Energy distribution function for electrons in SF6-Ar mixtures gas used by MCS-BEq algorithm has been analysed over the E/N range 30~300[Td] by a two term Boltzmann equation and a Monte Carlo Simulation using a set of electron cross sections determined by other authors experimentally the electron swarm parameters for 0.2[%] and 0.5[%]
mixtures were measured by time-of-flight(TOF) method, The results show that the deduced longitudinal diffusion coefficients and transverse diffusion coefficients agree reasonably well with theoretical for a rang of E/N values. The results obtained from Boltzmann equation method and Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with present and previously obtained data and respective set of electron collision cross sections of the molecules.
A Study on the Development of Controller which is used Electric Operating Cell(EOC) for Vacuum Circuit Breaker and the Controller Performance Certification Test

This study is about the controller development of the Electric Operating Cell(EOC) which will replace the Mechanical Operated Cell(MOC) of the vacuum circuit breaker which has been used in the power plant and the performance test for the developed controller. The controller developed through this study was manufactured considering the harsh installation environment and electrical condition of the power plant, and the controller performance certification test for confirming the product reliability was taken to know whether or not to withstand fully in various electrical and mechanical problems. Items for performance certification test were AC power frequency voltage withstand test, combined surge immunity test, 1 [MHz] oscillatory SWC test, fast transient SWC test, radiated electromagnetic interference test, vibration test. As a result, all tests has passed an examination without malfunction.
MSC-based Test-case Generation Module for Railway Signaling Software Testing

Most of the existing studies on functional safety testing for the railway signaling system software have focused on verifying the functional safety through the monitoring of internal memory embedded railway signaling system. However, the railway signaling system is one of the typical embedded control system in the railway sector, and the embedded software has a characteristic of generating an appropriate outputs through the combination of internal processing in consideration of the current internal status and external input. Therefore, the test approach of using the interface communication channel can be effective way for the functional testing for railway signaling system software in consideration of these characteristic. Since a communication interface specification of the railway signal system has a the properties of the sequence input and output signals, test-case for software testing is the most effective methodology by MSC (Message Sequence Chart) language, one of the graphic language. The MSC-based test-case generating methodology for signaling system software was proposed in this paper.
A Study of Quasi-Resonant Flyback Power Supply with Very Wide Input Voltage

One of the many problems besetting the converter designer is being able to design a switching power supply that can operate in the range of very wide input voltage. Specially, in an emergency diesel generator system, the AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) is a regulator which regulates the output voltage of the generator at a nominal constant voltage level. In addition, the AVR must be operated in very wide input voltage. Therefore, a power supply for the AVR must be operated at the very wide input voltage range. In this paper, a quasi-resonant flyback power supply with very wide input voltage range is proposed. Also, the performance of the proposed power supply is demonstrated through experiments.
The Topology of Soft Switching Boost Type DC-DC Converter using a Passive Auxiliary Resonant Snubber

In this paper, we propose a boost DC-DC converter using a modification of the passive auxiliary resonant snubber circuit with a DC-DC converter in a typical active auxiliary resonant snubber-bridge inverter. The proposed boost DC-DC converter is small compared to the DC-DC converter according to the soft-switching scheme that requires a general auxiliary switch by realizing the soft switching operation as a DC-DC converter which does not require an auxiliary switch. It is light-weight, switch the turn-on and turn-off switching loss at the time of the superposition of the voltage and current is extremely small, so small. And the reduction of the surge voltage and current of the switch. In addition, the proposed boost DC-DC converter has a high efficiency over a wide load characteristics change area than conventional hard switching PWM boost converter using an RC snubber loss.

Lights from cities have been a grateful outcome of industrialization and a barometer of how developed the city is. However, indiscriminate exposure to artificial lights caused displeasure to people, ecological crisis to the nature, and overuse of energy. for example, excessive light is cause serious diseases such as sleep disorders, cancer in human, declining populations caused by reducing the ability to reproduce for animals and Plant yield is reduced. Therefore, each local governments have came up with ordinances in accordance with the law "Light Pollution Prevention Act". Accordingly, we've analyzed current Chungcheongbuk-do's current states investigation and reduction method proposed for the light pollution act.
A Study on the Variation of Power Factor by Connection of the Induction Generator to the Distribution Line

Recently squirrel cage induction generator has been steadily applied to many small hydro power plants. Induction generator needs a reactive power for magnetization. The reactive power of induction generator is being supplied from the supply side mostly. The use of induction generators in the power distribution grid can affect the power factor. The power factor of induction generator is fixed already during production. The power factor in the distribution system is due to the increase or decrease of the load rather than due to the induction generator. In this study, we analyzed that how the increase or decrease of D/L load impacts at the change of power factor and power flow.
Development of Daily PV Power Forecasting Models using ELM

Due to the uncertainty of weather, it is difficult to construct an accurate forecasting model for daily PV power generation. It is very important work to know PV power in next day to manage power system. In this paper, correlation analysis between weather and power generation was carried out and daily PV power forecasting models based on Extreme Learning Machine(ELM) was presented. Performance of district ELM model was compared with single ELM model. The proposed method has been tested using actual data set measured in 2014.
Characteristics of Expanded-CLMS Algorithm for Performance Improvement in ANC Systems for Road Noise Calming

Noise problem that occurs on the road is raising a lot of problems in the economic, social and environmental aspects. The active noise control (ANC) systems based on the filtered-X least mean square(FxLMS) algorithm have a problem with compensating the acoustic feedback of secondary route. However, newly proposed correlation-LMS(CLMS) and expanded CLMS algorithms have slightly much calculation and are minutely behind performance, these have a advantage not in measuring transfer function onerously so that we can easily adapt these in real time. The CLMS and expanded CLMS algorithm was developed to improve the real-time implementation performance under the variable input noise such as road noise environment. In this paper, we compared and analyzed their performance. From the results of the Matlab simulation for an ANC system, it is shown that expanded CLMS algorithms are more convergence speed and keep the desirable performance even in the input of road noise situation.
The Development of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation Medical Devices for The Treatment of Non-implantable Urinary Incontinence

In this paper, the neuromuscular electrical stimulation medical devices for non-implantable incontinence treatment other than vaginal insertion type was developed and commercialized. The structure of medical devices for electrical stimulation based on the anatomy of the pelvic floor muscle designed. Then, the optimum parameters that may be effective in pelvic floor muscle electrical stimulation was set. The circuit system based on the optimum parameters were designed and manufactured. The frequency of the pulse voltage for electrical stimulation is 75[Hz], the pulse width is 300[
], the development of medical devices was to have seven program functions to the various treatments. The circuit system of medical devices was composed of microcontroller, comparator and converter. The performance of the developed circuit system in KTC(Korea Testing Certification) were carried out medical equipment inspection test. Test results, test specifications were satisfied with the medical device, the performance was verified to be commercialized as a medical device. The development of medical devices were validated risk assessment and product performance through a software validation. Commercialization of medical equipment was acquired to enable the certification standards of the international standard IEC 60601-1.
Characteristic Analysis of Functional Nano-coating Films Synthesized according to the Annealing Ambient and Fabrication of Anti-pollution PV Module

We investigated that effects of annealing ambient on the characteristics of functional nano thin film synthesized on glass substrate. The functional nano thin films were annealed by using rapid thermal annealing (RTA) equipment in vacuum, oxygen and nitrogen ambient, respectively. The hardness of the functional nano thin films were measured by a standard hardness testing method (ASTM D3363) such as a H-9H, F, HB and B-6B pencil (Mitsubishi, Japan). Also, the adhesion of the functional nano thin films were measured by a standard adhesion testing method (ASTM D3359) using scotch tape (3M, Korea). The contact angle of the functional nano thin films was measured by a contact angle analyzer (Phoenix 300 Touch, S.E.O.). The optical property of functional nano thin films was measured via UV-visible spectroscopy (S-3100, Scinco).
A Study on Multi Target Tracking using HOG and Kalman Filter

Detecting human in images is a challenging task owing to their variable appearance and the wide range of poses the they can adopt. The first need is a robust feature set that allows the human form to be discriminated cleanly, even in cluttered background under difficult illumination. A large number of vision application rely on matching keypoints across images. These days, the deployment of vision algorithms on smart phones and embedded device with low memory and computation complexity has even upped the ante: the goal is to make descriptors faster compute, more compact while remaining robust scale, rotation and noise. In this paper we focus on improving the speed of pedestrian(walking person) detection using Histogram of Oriented Gradient(HOG) descriptors provide excellent performance and tracking using kalman filter.
Pedestrian Detection using HOG Feature and Multi-Frame Operation

A large number of vision applications rely on matching keypoints across images. Pedestrian detection is under constant pressure to increase both its quality and speed. Such progress allows for new application. A higher speed enables its inclusion into large systems with extensive subsequent processing, and its deployment in computationally constrained scenarios. In this paper, we focus on improving the speed of pedestrian detection using HOG(histogram of oriented gradient) and multi frame operation which is robust to illumination changes in cluttering images. The result of our simulation indicates that the detection rate and speed of the proposed method is much faster than that of conventional HOG and differential images.
