Harmonics Measurement of the Running Test EMU Train in Conventional Railway Lines

The electric quality of train is represented by voltage and current harmonics at PT(Ratio 25,000/15/[V]) which is located between pantograph and primary winding of train transformer. In this paper, voltage and current harmonics were measured on the test EMU(electric multiple unit)train with maximum speed of 180km/h in existing railway lines(chungbuk, Taeback, Honam). As a results of test, it is found that the electric quality of train depends on the mostly operation conditions which is accelerating mode and braking mode on each sections. Voltage THD is above all 3[%] and current harmonics is monitored from lowest Harmonic to highest Harmonic in case of accelerating mode. But, highest current harmonics is not monitored in case of breaking mode. The results in this paper can help to stabilize the power device and power converter of the test EMU train.
A Study on Energy Harvesting during Pulldown Exercises using a Health Care Machine

This paper deals with Energy Harvesting using a part of physical energy which is generated by pulldown actions. From a point of energy harvesting view, though it is difficult to regenerate constant energy during pulldown exercise unlike cyclic exercise and running machine exercise, it is possible to regenerate some energies to charge batteries for mobile phones. To investigate possibility of energy harvesting during pulldown exercise, a voltage regulation experiment was performed with a converter circuit and a motor which is attached to the exercise equipment. And we conclude that energy harvesting is possible although its small quantity during pulldown exercises.
Implementation of Soft-starter with Large Scale Power Stack for High Voltage Induction Motor Driving

Soft starters are used with large induction motors in blowers, fans, pumps and the crane hoist drives. AC voltage controllers are used as soft starters in induction motors for starting and to adjust its speed. Soft-starter starting system uses phase control method of input electric source through the setting of the thyristor(SCR) firing angle
, and it can control input electric source stably and continuously from beginning of starting to ending of starting. In this paper, it is verified that power stack of high-voltage with SCR series system possesses dielectric strength and input electric source is controlled stably by phase control. Especially, from the driving experimental of proposed soft-starter operating, a smoothing acceleration and inrush current decrease can be achieved by the series SCR trigger.
A Study on the Participation of Virtual Power Plant Based Technology Utilizing Distributed Generation Resources in Electricity Market

A virtual power plant (VPP) technology is a cluster of distributed generation installations. VPP system is that integrates several types of distributed generation sources, so as to give a reliable overall power supply. Virtual power plant systems play a key role in the smart grids concept and the move towards alternative sources of energy. They ensure improved integration of the renewable energy generation into the grids and the electricity market. VPPs not only deal with the supply side, but also help manage demand and ensure reliability of grid functions through demand response (DR) and other load shifting approaches in real time. In this paper, utilizing a variety of distributed generation resources(such as emergency generator, commercial generator, energy storage device), activation scheme of the virtual power plant technology. In addition, through the analysis of the domestic electricity market, it describes a scheme that can be a virtual power plant to participate in electricity market. It attempts to derive the policy support recommendation in order to obtain the basics to the prepared in position of power generation companies for the commercialization of virtual power plant.
The Development of EPSM(Exciter Power Supply Module) Localization in Generator Exciter(EX2100) System

The main target in this paper is the localization of VME Type EPSM in Generator Exciter(EX2100) System. Developed EPSM has the compatibility with the existing product in the structure and shape and electrical feature and so on, but it has a much improved capacity and reliability in comparison with origin company product. this paper, to improve these functions, put emphasis on protection, monitoring, power capacity increase(over 120%), an enlarged scale of input voltage supply, AC/DC dual voltage use and so on. After manufacturing product localization, it was carried out several tests for the performance and reliability verification of developed product. These tests were performed in Authorized Inspection Agency(KTL) and field application test and maker self-test were additionally performed. Finally, the results of all tests were "success".
Modeling of Photovoltaic Power Systems using Clustering Algorithm and Modular Networks

The real-world problems usually show nonlinear and multi-variate characteristics, so it is difficult to establish concrete mathematical models for them. Thus, it is common to practice data-driven modeling techniques in these cases. Among them, most widely adopted techniques are regression model and intelligent model such as neural networks. Regression model has drawback showing lower performance when much non-linearity exists between input and output data. Intelligent model has been shown its superiority to the linear model due to ability capable of effectively estimate desired output in cases of both linear and nonlinear problem. This paper proposes modeling method of daily photovoltaic power systems using ELM(Extreme Learning Machine) based modular networks. The proposed method uses sub-model by fuzzy clustering rather than using a single model. Each sub-model is implemented by ELM. To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed various experiments by dataset acquired during 2014 in real-plant.

This paper is Instant space vector PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)power conversion devices in switching power semiconductors from my generation to losses and switching when the voltage surge and current surge of electronic noise(EMI: Electro Magnetic Interference / RFI: Radio Frequency Interference)to effectively minimize the power soft-switching power conversion circuit topologies of auxiliary resonant DC tank for the purpose of high performance realization of the electric power conversion system by the high-speed switching of a semiconductor device(AQRDCT simultaneously : an active auxiliary resonance using auxiliary Quasi-resonant DC tank)DC link snubber switch has adopted a three-phase voltage inverter. AQRDCL proposed in this paper can reduce the effective and current peak stress of the power semiconductors of the auxiliary resonant snubber circuit compared to the conventional active-resonant DC link snubber, it is not necessary to install the clamp switch of the auxiliary resonant DC link, DC the peak current and power loss of the bus line can be reduced.
Power Transformer Modeling and Transient Analysis using PSCAD

Current differential protection relaying with second harmonic restraint is the main protection for large capacity power transformer. PSCAD simulation program is widely used for modeling of dynamic varying transients phenomena. This paper deals with a power transformer model and transients analysis using PSCAD software to develop IED for power transformer. Simulation was carried out using a three phase 40MVA, 154/22.9kV, 60Hz, two-winding transformer with Y-Y connection used in actual fields. The paper analyzed transformer magnetizing inrush, external fault, and internal fault conditions with this model in the time domain. In addition, we performed an analysis in the frequency domain using FFT during several conditions.
Person Recognition Using Gait and Face Features on Thermal Images

Gait recognition has advantage of non-contact type recognition. But It has disadvantage of low recognition rate when the pedestrian silhouette is changed due to bag or coat. In this paper, we proposed new method using combination of gait energy image feature and thermal face image feature. First, we extracted a face image which has optimal focusing value using human body rate and Tenengrad algorithm. Second step, we extracted features from gait energy image and thermal face image using linear discriminant analysis. Third, calculate euclidean distance between train data and test data, and optimize weights using genetic algorithm. Finally, we compute classification using nearest neighbor classification algorithm. So the proposed method shows a better result than the conventional method.
Alternate Time-Switched Multiplexed Space-Time Block Coding technique for OFDM systems

This paper proposes an alternate time-switched multiplexed space-time block coding technique for orthogonal frequency division modulation systems. The traditional multiplexed space-time block coding technique can provide more data rate owing to multiple transmit and receive technique, which causes a lot of hardware burden. Alternate time-switched scheme of transmitting time-domain zeros can reduce this hardware burden by half with time-domain switches only. Simulation results show that alternate time-switched scheme has almost same performance with half of baseband and RF modules in comparison with a multiplexed space-time block coding for orthogonal frequency division modulation systems with twice repetitive transmission.
New Manufacture Process Technology of Flexible Flat Lighting used LED

This paper developed new manufacture process technology of slim type flexible flat lighting product used lower power white LED. Flexible flat lighting is applied to letter sign lighting, traffic lighting, interior wall lighting, flat lighting, aquarium back lighting, wreath light etc. Main manufacture process technology were developed drawing software for electronics circuit, inkjet electronic circuit pattern and inkjet white ink coating. For pattern printing it was utilized for piezoelectonic inkjet head printing technology. Also high vacuum pressure laminating technology was waterproofing for LED flat lighting protection. Hence, form process technology we were manufactured for flexible flat lighting product of the power 12 W, input voltage 48 V and plane size
. It acquired a these validity from experiment results.
