Uncertain Knowledge Processing for Oriental Medicine Diagnostic Model

The inference process for medical expert system is mostly formed by diagnostic knowledge on the if-then rule base. Oriental medicine diagnostic knowledge, however, may involve uncertain knowledge caused by ambiguous concept. In this paper, we analyze an oriental medicine diagnostic process by a rule-based inference system, and propose a method for representing and processing uncertain oriental medicine diagnostic knowledge using CLP( R ) which is a kind of constraint satisfaction program.
A study on Optimizing Fourier Series Density estimates

Several methods are proposed for optimizing Fourier series estimators with respect to Mean Integrated Square Error metrics. Traditionally, such method have followed. one of two basic strategies; A stopping rules or the rules of determine multipliers. A central hypothesis of this study is that better estimates can be obtained by combining the two strategies. A new multiplier sequence is proposed, which used in conjunction with any of the stopping rules, is shown to improve the performance of estimator which relies solely on a stopping rule.
Empirical Bayesian Prediction Analysis on Accelerated Lifetime Data

In accelerated life tests, the failure time of an item is observed under a high stress level, and based on the time the performances of items are investigated at the normal stress level. In this paper, when the mean of the prior of a failure rate is known in the exponential lifetime distribution with censored accelerated failure time data, we utilize the empirical Bayesian method by using the moment estimators in order to estimate the parameters of the prior distribution and obtain the empirical Bayesian predictive density and predictive intervals for a future observation under the normal stress level.
Bayesian Reliability Estimation for a Two-unit Hot Standby System

we shall propose some Bayes estimators and some generalized maximum likelihood estimators for reliability of a two-unit hot standby system with perfect switch based upon a complete sample of failure times observed from the exponential model and compare the peformances of the proposed estimators in terms of mean squared error.
Empirical Bayes Interval Estimation by a Sample Reuse Method

We construct the empirical Bayes(EB) confidence intervals that attain a specified level of EB coverage for the unknown scale parameter in the Weibull distribution with the known shape parameter under the type II censored data. Our general approach is to use an EB bootstrap samples introduced by Larid and Louis(1987). Also, we compare the coverage probability and the expected interval length for these bootstrap intervals with those of the naive intervals through Monte Carlo simulation.
Bootstrapped Confidence Bands for Quantile Function under LTRC Model

We consider the quantile function for the bootstrapped product limit estimate under left truncation and right censoring model and show its weak convergence. We also obtain bootstrapped confidence bands for the quantile function.
Bootstrap and Delete-d Jackknife Confidence Intervals for Parameters of an Exponential Distribution

We introduce several estimators of the location and the scale parameters of the two-parameter exponential distribution, and then compare these estimators by the mean square error (MSE). Using the parametric bootstrap estimators and the delete-d jackknife, we obtain the bootstrap and the delete-d jackknife confidence intervals for the location and the scale parameters and compare the bootstrap confidence intervals with the delete-d jackknife confidence intervals by length and coverage probability through Monte Carlo method.

On the Estimation of Reliability Functions for the Freund Model

This paper considers the problem of estimating the model parameters and reliability functions for Freund bivariate exponential distribution. Uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimators for model parameters, joint reliability and marginal reliability functions are obtained in the both case of non-identically distributed marginals and identically distributed marginals.
A Random Replacement Model with Minimal Repair

In this paper, we consider a random replacement model with minimal repair, which is a generalization of the random replacement model introduced Lee and Lee(1994). It is assumed that a system is minimally repaired when it fails and replaced only when the accumulated operating time of the system exceeds a threshold time by a supervisor who arrives at the system for inspection according to Poisson process. Assigning the corresponding cost to the system, we obtain the expected long-run average cost per unit time and find the optimum values of the threshold time and the supervisor's inspection rate which minimize the average cost.
Jackknife Parametric Estimations in a Truncated Arcsine Distribution

Maximum likelihood and jackknife estimators of the location and scale parameters and right-tail probability in the truncated arcsine distribution are proposed, and we shall compare the performances of the proposed estimators in terms of bias and mean squared error.
The Asymptotic Properties of Mean Residual Life Function on Left Truncated and Right Censoring Model

The estimation procedure of mean residual life function has been placed an important role in the study of survival analysis. In this paper, the product limit estimator on left truncated and right censoring model is proposed with asymptotic properties. Also, the small sample properties are investigated through the Monte Carlo study and the proposed product limit type estimator is compared with ordinary Kaplan-Meier type estimator.
