Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 101~114
This paper investigates whether the announcement effect of seasoned equity offering is affected by management performance. We used Korean stock market data from 2000 to 2007 to analyze the possible relation between net income and seasoned equity offerings announcement effect. The sample of 308 firms are selected for the study from the original population of 750 seasoned equity offering announcements. and We analysis this article through event studty of Brown and J.Warner. We divide the data into two groups. - the previous offerings year's positive net income group and negative income group. Both positive and negative net income samples affect stock price positively. However, the CAR for the negative net income offerings becomes zero around 25days after the announcement date. To analyze the impact of accounting income on the seasoned equity offering announcement effects fully, we introduce a cross-sectional regression analysis by setting the cumulative abnormal returns as a dependant variable and net income as an explanatory variable. The beta coefficient of the net income shows a statistical significance. These results can be considered as an evidence to support our hypothesis.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 215~220
They are well-known geometric properties of a circle that the perpendicular bisector of a chord passes through the center of a circle, and the intersection of the perpendicular bisectors of any two chords is its center. This paper is related to a fast pupil detection method capable of detecting the center and the radius of a pupil using these geometric properties at high speed when detecting the pupil region for iris segmentation. The proposed method is characterized as rapidly detecting the center and the radius of the pupil, extracting the candidate points of the circle in human eye images using morphological operations, and finding two chords using four points on the circular edge, and taking the intersection of the perpendicular bisectors of these two chords for its center. The proposed method can not only detect the center and the radius of a pupil rapidly but also find partially occluded pupils in human eye images.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 221~228
A number of research studies focus on the efficacy of using such as scenario based learning. However, desirable methods have not been introduced to assess the scenario based learning. This article is to suggest a fuzzy logic based framework for scenario base learning in which more reasonable learning effects are measured. It can be solved uncertain problems of linguistic variables. Also, we suggest three measures of accuracy, comprehensibility and completeness in order to evaluate accurate effects of scenario based learning. This assessment provides the scenario to the learner in which the scenario is presented in an authentic context, and enable the learner to reach an outcome through an adequate sequence and choices. This approach enables the system to present new scenarios and outcomes based on what a user selects. In particular, the application of fuzzy logic in scenario based learning can be easily pursued certain successful path or wrong path all the way through to reach major outcome in real situation.

A Collaborative Reputation System for e-Learning Content
Cho, Jinhyung ; Kang, Hwan Soo ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 235~242
Reputation systems aggregate users' feedback after the completion of a transaction and compute the "reputation" of products, services, or providers, which can assist other users in decision-making in the future. With the rapid growth of online e-Learning content providing services, a suitable reputation system for more credible e-Learning content delivery has become important and is essential if educational content providers are to remain competitive. Most existing reputation systems focus on generating ratings only for user reputation; they fail to consider the reputations of products or services(item reputation). However, it is essential for B2C e-Learning services to have a reliable reputation rating mechanism for items since they offer guidance for decision-making by presenting the ranks or ratings of e-Learning content items. To overcome this problem, we propose a novel collaborative filtering based reputation rating method. Collaborative filtering, one of the most successful recommendation methods, can be used to improve a reputation system. In this method, dual information sources are formed with groups of co-oriented users and expert users and to adapt it to the reputation rating mechanism. We have evaluated its performance experimentally by comparing various reputation systems.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 243~248
This paper proposes an effective method using Adaptive Boosting to track a person's head in complex background. By only one way to feature extraction methods are not sufficient for modeling a person's head. Therefore, the method proposed in this paper, several feature extraction methods for the accuracy of the detection head running at the same time. Feature Extraction for the imaging of the head was extracted using sub-region and Haar wavelet transform. Sub-region represents the local characteristics of the head, Haar wavelet transform can indicate the frequency characteristics of face. Therefore, if we use them to extract the features of face, effective modeling is possible. In the proposed method to track down the man's head from the input video in real time, we ues the results after learning Harr-wavelet characteristics of the three types using AdaBoosting algorithm. Originally the AdaBoosting algorithm, there is a very long learning time, if learning data was changes, and then it is need to be performed learning again. In order to overcome this shortcoming, in this research propose efficient method using cascade AdaBoosting. This method reduces the learning time for the imaging of the head, and can respond effectively to changes in the learning data. The proposed method generated classifier with excellent performance using less learning time and learning data. In addition, this method accurately detect and track head of person from a variety of head data in real-time video images.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 309~316
Machine-to-machine (M2M) communication occurs when devices exchange information independent of human intervention. Prominent among the technical challenges to M2M communication are security issues, such as eavesdropping, spoofing, modification, and privacy violation. Hence, it is very important to establish secure communication. In this paper, we propose a remote authentication scheme, based on dynamic ID, which provides secure communication while avoiding exposure of data through authentication between the M2M domain and the network domain in the M2M architecture. We then prove the correctness and security of the proposed scheme using a logic-based formal method.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 11, issue 2, 2013, Pages 323~330
The trend of the use of open softwares is increasing daily. Despite these increases in the use of open softwares, the importance of the problem of their quality is not considered enough. Also, if we look at the existing evaluation model which is used as the evaluation model of the existing open software, the level of the quantization is insufficient, the evaluator can show some subjectivity and as a clear evaluation method is not published, there are many problems to apply it in practice. Therefore, in this study, we have built an evaluation basis that can show consistent quantization without the influence of the evaluator and that can improve the evaluation speed with the automatization of the evaluation information acquisition. The built quality evaluation model will take an important role to evaluate and to improve the open software.
