Recently, the value and the status of the digital archives that are built individually in the crossroads of oblivion and memory are due to big data has attracted attention globally is confusing. Video data that contains the cultural memory of the digital archive, such as culture, art, life, society, and social conditions of the time, it is a cultural heritage of national common expressed. Also, it remains a trace of history from the various media just like magazines, books, painting, photography, and film. Digital archive system is one of the best research results of media convergence and it has also a good opportunity to take full advantage of the new opportunities and cultural assets. The collection of infinite information of big data in perspective transient that exist at the same time compatibility of big data, it is trying to dismantle the cultural memory of us. It was asserted that must meet the criteria which can correspond to via the new digital era, will be applied to preserve the traditional media. The current image archive is necessary to accommodate proper two different directions.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.2.27
While organizations are making a considerable effort to leverage formal and informal control mechanisms (e.g., policies, procedures, organizational culture) to improve security, their impact and effectiveness is under scrutiny as employees seldom comply with information security procedures. The best way to ensure the viability of a security policy is to make sure users understand it and accept necessary precautions. From an organization`s perspective, a lack of security knowledge and awareness on the part of employees is a major problem. However, previous studies suggest that effect of security awareness education is inconsistent. Thus, this study is to find the answer why security awareness education is not effective. Conclusions and implications are discussed.

The mobile instant messengers could change the lives of average citizens as much as did the telephone in the early part of the 20th century and television in the 1950s and 1960s. Researchers are debating whether the mobile instant messengers are improving or harming participation in community life and social relationships. For this study, 155 participants in two universities completed questionnaires pertaining to their own mobile instant messengers use and feelings of loneliness. We used survey data to examine the effects of the mobile instant messengers on social involvement and psychological well-being. In this sample, the mobile instant messengers were used extensively for communication. Results suggest that greater use of the mobile instant messengers were associated with declines in participants` communication with the people around which in turn creases their loneliness. These findings have implications for research and for the design of technology.

Yu, Won-Keun ; Choi, Ho-Yeong ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 2, 2014, Pages 89~97
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.2.89
With regard to conventional theory, the rate of profit is determined by the interaction between the rate of surplus value and the organic composition of capital. And it declines with the capitalistic development through intensifying the organic composition of capital. According to the empirical test, the rate of profit and the rate of surplus value have been decreased. On the contrary, the organic composition of capital have increased during the period under study. The empirical results of the rate of profit in Korean economy appears to hold the principle of the law of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall. But the trend of the determinants is distinct from the conventional theory. Despite the distinctive empirical results, the law of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall is realized in Korean economy in objective period of time.

One of the largest changes in retail business in Korea since the distribution market was opened in the mid 1990s is the appearance of foreign discount stores and the rapid growth of department stores. Discount stores and department stores have changed the structure of distribution business which has been primarily made up of traditional markets and supermarkets that have been the main retail markets in Korea. The retail business is changing from just a product purchasing place to a space where various values such as pleasure, happiness, etc. are provided. Therefore the purpose of this research is to grasp the effects that the shopping experience values at department stores have on the department brands, images, and awareness by means of theoretical and empirical research. Especially I classified the shopping experience values, an independent variable, into aesthetics, pleasures, consumers` interests, and services` excellence, and I verified whether they have a meaningful effects on the brand recognition and image, an endogenous variable, and the store royalty, a final various. A total of 235 questionnaires were used for analysis to test the research hypotheses. The positive analysis was done with SPSS 17.0K and AMOS 17.0 covariance structure analysis was performed. As a result, variables of the shopping experience values except consumers` interests seemed to have not only right influences on recognition and image, but also right influences on store royalty. Therefore this research shows that department store customers not only make use of department stores to buy products, but also visit department stores to get the values of pleasure and happiness, and that these aspects have a greater influence on the department store`s image, recognition, or royalty in a sense.

Generally, the smartphone messenger provides group communication functions in which users can make the group and communicate with each other. In the mobile meeting, the attendees can participate in the meeting with use of smartphone messengers wherever they are. To make the mobile meeting put to practical use, the mobility and privacy should be ensured to attendees. To satisfy the mobility requirement, the user which is not belong to the group members should not be able to participate in the meeting. To ensure the privacy requirement, the attendees should have not to repudiate the meeting results. In this study, the mobile meeting authentication scheme is proposed which provides mobility and privacy. The proposed scheme consists of meeting group creation, group key generation, group signature and verification protocols. All attendees should have to participate in the signature verification because it is based on the challenge-response type protocol. Thus, it`s not possible to collude with malicious attendees to change the meeting results.

Although the amount of UCC(user created content) rapidly grows nowadays, there are various problems in authoring, distribution and management of this abundant content because the platforms for fabrication and replaying content are not compatible and the authoring environments are not sufficiently interoperable with other site or with each other. In this paper, we propose a CMS(content management system) scheme improved in interoperability to solve these problems, and we design a novel system enhancing the efficiency and speed of content distribution and management by minimizing the repetitions in the processes of production, reshaping, and publication. Moreover the proposed system adopts an improved content management technology by changing from simple point-to-point method to the centralized distribution method, and as for the service scheme, we change from the site link method to the database link method, and we also take duplex interlink scheme instead of simplex one. We finally compare the proposed system to the conventional ones as points of view of compatibility and interoperability to prove the improved performance of our system.

Park, Hee-Dong ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 2, 2014, Pages 271~276
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.2.271
The life-time and performance of a wireless sensor network is closely related to energy-efficiency of sensor nodes. In this paper, to increase energy-efficiency, each sensor node operates in one of three operational modes which are normal, power-saving, and inactive. In normal mode sensor nodes sense and transmit data with normal period, whereas sensor nodes in power-saving mode have three-times longer period. In inactive mode, sensor nodes do not sense and transmit any data, which makes the energy consumption to be minimized. Plus, the proposed algorithm can avoid unnecessary energy consumption by preventing transmitting duplicate sensed data. We implemented and simulated the proposed algorithm using Tiny OS based ZigbeX platfom and NS-2, respectively. Performance evaluation results show that the proposed algorithm can prolong sensor networks` lifespan by efficiently reducing energy consumption and its standard deviation of all sensor nodes.

Recently, although the requirement of quality of VOD content has been transferred upto the class of HD, conventional management systems characterized by OS dependency are truly limited in quality of video image, stability, and compatibility of network environments. In addition most of the content management systems realize very limited capabilities for the real affairs of content management and distribution services in such an OS dependent environment. In this paper, we propose a new scheme of HD-Class VOD Content Management System to solve these problems. We design and implement the proposed system based on open sources by using H.264 video compression method. The proposed system offers high quality content management method based on opened systems and independent on-line distribution method so that it can be realized as an integrated management scheme for VOD contents. Moreover, our system solves the problems of occasional cutting-down video, small screen, and poor image quality that exist in the conventional wmv-type CMS. According to the result of performance evaluation, our system maintains sufficient performance and tolerence for the case of large scale HD content operations or fabrications. We expect that the proposed integrated DB scheme will especially be effective when the content management applications are changed from Internet Web environments to mobile terminal environments.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 2, 2014, Pages 335~341
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.2.335
To play the networked video contents in a client`s mobile device in real time, the contents should be delivered to it by the contents server with streaming technology. Generally, in a server-client based commerce model, the server is in charge of both the authentication of the paid customer and distribution of the contents. The drawback of it is that if the customers` requests go on growing rapidly, the service quality would be degraded results from the problems of overloaded server or restricted network bandwidth. On the contrary, in P2P based networks, more and more the demand for service increasing, the service quality is upgraded since a customer can act as a server. But, in the P2P based network, there are too many servers to manage, it`s possible to distribute illegal contents because the P2P protocol cannot control distributed servers. Thus, it`s not suitable for commercial purposes. In this paper, the dymanic group authentication scheme is proposed which is suited to P2P based applications. The proposed scheme consists of group based key generation, key update, signature generation and verification protocols. It can control the seeder`s state whether the seeder is joining or leaving the network, and it can be applied to hybrid P2P based commerce model where sales transactions are covered by the index server and the contents are distributed by the P2P protocol.

Convergence refers to create a new one by combining the different elements of two or more. Currently convergence has expanded academy, industry and education from the concept of combining heterogeneous inter-technology. The most important key to the convergence in success is to derive ideas for problem solving. However, the idea derivation is done in companies to hire professional people for letting the innovation of corporate planning and new product in most cases. It is hard to get the expected results of convergence`s variety. In this research, the creation of the general public for their ideas is main focus on developing a curriculum. Development models are: 1) strengthening the internal capacity for creative thinking, 2) curriculum meets the consumer 3) an understanding of convergence technology 4) creative ideas and planning ability is composed of four concepts. It is expected that convergence man power having the creative idea is trained in case of applying the proposed education model to the convergence education.

As SNS has increased its influence on the society as a whole, companies also have started to consider how to take advantage of the new service paying specific attention to its characteristics of immediacy, sharability and interactivity. This study aims to circumstantiate the relationship between a task support tool of SNS and task-media fit, user characteristics and performance by focusing on its usage in work field. To address this issue, a Task-Technology Fit model is used to propose a research model considering the characteristics of SNS as a social element, information technology as well as its user characteristics. The outcome shows that job characteristics, virtual competence and media characteristics have a significant influence on task-media fit, whereas virtual competence and SNS characteristics variables have a significant influence on SNS usage. Besides, task-media fit has a significant influence on SNS usage and work performance while SNS usage has a significant influence on work performance. The study suggests that strategic use of SNS helps improve work performance and these individual characteristics should be considered in planning of SNS utilizing strategy.
