DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.9
As studies on welfare systems for military families were only focused and limited on improvements of welfare facilities and military apartments, or psycho-therapies for families living apart, the supporting policies and efforts on creating jobs for military families(spouses) were insufficient till now. The best welfare for military spouses is the active well-being through the provision of employment opportunities, rather than providing certain rewards. Especially, South Korea should boost national competitiveness through increasing the engagement rate of women's economic activities. To expand these kinds of employment chances, actual plans to overcome the factors that restrict job opportunities for the families living apart, moving frequently, or living in rural areas should be urged. Accordingly, there should be a change of recognition toward military welfare service, enactment of applying discharged soldier's expanded employment programs for military spouses, cooperation with municipal governments and relevant institutions for creating jobs, and provision of promising job openings in association with a military reform. To achieve these, the cooperation of the government agencies, municipal governments, and military units are being emphasized.

In the application development process is an important task to improve the quality of the data is the principal means for achieving the functional requirements of the wireless sensor network applications because it is the data obtained in the real world. It should be possible to meet the requirements for the quality improvement to those detailed for improving the quality in a short period of time for developing a prototype of an application and low cost. However, development of the existing methods can not be satisfied simultaneously in order to use a consistent abstraction because antinomical relation between ability of description and ease of description. In this paper, we propose a meta-data designed to support the improvement of data quality through abstract modeling language is also used in combination to a multiple of the other.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 9, 2014, Pages 201~207
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.201
In the cloud environment, the company needs data integration and analysis to make decision and policy. If new system is added to this environment, a lot of time and cost is needed due to disparate properties among systems when data is integrated. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a DBaaS hub system for multi-database service. The DBaaS may require a different database and need data integration for relevant service. Using the ontology, we propose a metadata query to resolve the interoperability issues between data of DBaaS. The meta-query is not a query to access the real data, but the query for the upper level. This method provides data integration by accessing the data with the converted query through an ontology when we access the actual database.We also constructs a document-oriented database system using the metadata.

Bae, WooSik ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 9, 2014, Pages 219~223
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.219
In line with the advanced wireless communication technology, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication has drawn attention in industry. M2M communication features are installed and operated in the fields where human accessibility is highly limited such as disaster, safety, construction, health and welfare, climate, environment, logistics, culture, defense, medical care, agriculture and stockbreeding. In M2M communication, machine replaces people for automatic communication and countermeasures as part of unmanned information management and machine operation. Wireless M2M inter-device communication is likely to be exposed to intruders' attacks, causing security issues, which warrants proper security measures including cross-authentication of whether devices are legitimate. Therefore, research on multiple security protocols has been conducted. The present study applied SessionKey, HashFunction and Nonce to address security issues in M2M communication and proposed a safe protocol with reinforced security properties. Notably, unlike most previous studies arguing for the security of certain protocols based on mathematical theorem proving, the present study used the formal verification with Casper/FDR to prove the safety of the proposed protocol. In short, the proposed protocol was found to be safe and secure.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 9, 2014, Pages 265~274
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.265
We sought to derive an overall strategy for green business certification of medical institutions and to propose the improvement directions for green management evaluation systems through applying the criteria to medical institutions. A self-assessment survey was conducted at 44 targeted hospitals across the country, and the 2012 green management evaluation criteria for healthcare services were used as assessment tools. As a result, only 11 of the 44 hospitals were eligible for green business certification. By type, hospitals with more than 400 beds, hospitals in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area (
400 beds) and private hospitals (
400 beds) received relatively high scores. In an analysis of the mean score, only the difference between the hospitals with
400 beds and < 400 beds was statistically significant. When we analyzed the interviews of the hospitals with lower scores, it is important to change the awareness of executives and employees, to establish vision/strategy/objective, to promote relatively small-scale activities, and to establish long-term plans. To improve green management evaluation systems, it is necessary to reset the assessment area, to control scoring and weights, to create certification grades, and to adjust additional points.

A Study on the change of documentary background music according to the digitalization of broadcasting
Lee, Hee Chung ; Na, Misu ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 9, 2014, Pages 297~312
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.297
By employing in-depth interviews with a total of 14 television producers, the study seeks to investigate how the use of documentary background music has changed in the rapidly evolving media technology. This study reveals two major findings. First, the use of traditional compositional background music in TV documentary has been decreased for the last 20 years, while library music with various sound sources has been more likely to be used due to its artistic value, its digitalized formats, and its convenience. Second, the popularity of the library music use has changed the cooperative relationship between TV documentary producers and music directors, and their views on background music. Overall, compared to the past, the new media technology (e.g., much easier, faster editing process and communication through e-mails) has helped to come up with the current trend of using more library music. This trend however implies that the dependency of library music only may lose the unique value of television documentary as a work of creative art and eventually downgrade the quality of the programs. Further practical implications are discussed.

The information processing capabilities of contemporary people have reached its limit as the daily life in an information society calls for prompt judgment and decisions while being overwhelmed with information. We no longer make optimal decisions after analyzing all necessary data and information and instead make automatic decisions based on just a handful of important information. Such a phenomenon can be observed not just in daily life but also on the internet. People believe they are making a rational choice when selecting and purchasing a product online, but in fact subconscious thoughts and behavior triggered immediately by certain parts of the brain without our knowing are what makes the decision. Therefore, this study seeks to investigate the cases of various UX designs where the persuasion method based on Cialdini's psychology of persuasion is applied and to suggest a direction for a more effective user interface design based on the findings.

It has been argued that internet game overflow (IGO) causes negative effects on mental health among adolescents. Especially, suicide has been known as one of the most serious mental health problems in Korea. This study is to examine the effect of IGO on suicidal ideation among adolescents, and to examine the relationship among IGO, depressive mood, and suicidal ideation by analyzing the mediating effect of depressive mood in the relationship between IGO and suicidal ideation. For this purpose, we analyzed the 2012 dataset from the Korea Children and Youth Mental Health Promotion Study (N=8,745) by the National Youth Policy Institute. The results showed that, first, about 5.6% of adolescents were included in the risky group depending on the criteria of the measurement. Second, IGO has a statistically significant effect on suicide ideation when considering the two variables only. Third, however, as depressive mood was found to have a complete mediating effect in the relationship between IGO and suicidal ideation, IGO increases suicidal ideation by increasing depressive mood. As policy and practice implications, the necessity of intervention to reduce IGO and mental health problems among adolescents was discussed.
Mediating effects of self-efficacy in the relationships between academic burnout and school adjustment on middle school students

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 12, issue 9, 2014, Pages 455~463
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2014.12.9.455
The purpose of this study is to define the paths through which academic burnout and self-efficacy of middle school students affect school adjustment, verify the path model of each factor, and examine the mediator effects of self-efficacy. In line with this objective, the study conducted a survey on 713 third year students of 3 different middle schools in city G. The first finding of this study confirmed that the path coefficient and suitablility index were significant, indicating that the path model was also significant. Second, academic burnout had direct negative effects on self-efficacy and school adjustment, while self-efficacy has positive effects on school adjustment. Third, self-efficacy was confirmed to have meaningful mediator effects on academic burnout and school adjustment. Based on these findings, academic burnout caused by excessive demand for academic success on korean students has negative effects on school adjustment, but if self-efficacy is well developed as an individual factor, school maladjustment can be reduced. Thus this study confirmed that psychological factors, such as self-efficacy, are necessary in school adjustment. Future studies were suggested on the basis of this study's findings.

This research aimed to enhance the effects of training through the use of infrared cameras located at anterior and posterior positions. The results were as follows. In the case of the smash, the impact time needed to be adjusted to raise their impact point. The smash of S1, on the other hand, was a step smash, which showed the fastest racquet head speed and the greatest transmission of power upon impact. As the max racquet speed upon impact and during speed was similar, S1 showed the best impact time. All athletes except S6 were shown to use their right foot as their 1 step that was located in front upon landing, using a hop step as their first step. For the best swing upon stroke, it is important to make the best conditions possible for the use of elbow joints and wrist joints. The rotating radius of the racquet should be big and the shuttlecock should be fast. Balance is important in footwork, or the coordinated movement of the feet. Without a correct step it is difficult to execute an efficient stroke. In an actual game, steps need to be executed in 2 to 4 steps, and programs focusing on steps according to situation, agility and reaction need to be executed.
