DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.13
Ongoing advances in wireless broadband technologies can affect all of industrial society. As new wireless broadband technologies emerge, they will improve competition between established industries and their current services and produce new industries and new converged services. This paper analyzes the trend of next-generation wireless broadband and suggests ways of activating the industry further. To this end, we analyze the trend for previous wireless broadband industries and find out three influential factors (content, wireless network technology, and service) that will produce the continued growth of wireless broadband. Using these three factors, we propose a network technology-driven growth model. Based on that model, we offer activation plans for next-generation wireless broadband industries. This study thus provides an insightful perspective for next-generation wireless broadband industries by establishing additional useful guidelines for developing wireless broadband industries in the future.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.23
The current cadastral business is being operated by conversion to a digital cadastral management system through computerized registers (land register and forest land register) and maps (cadastral map and forest cadastral map). Digital surveying methods, such as GPS surveying and electronic plane table surveying, are also used for cadastral surveying. At present, fees for cadastral surveying are calculated based on a standard pursuant to the Construction Standard Production Unit System and an announcement by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transportation. In many cases, however, the cadastral surveying fee system announced at present fail to apply the digitalized environment depending on the item. This study sought to analyze the cadastral surveying fee system that requires improvement in the rapidly changing digital cadastral management environment, and to prepare a basis to establish a cadastral surveying fee system suitable to the digital environment by suggesting an improvement method for such system. As a result of the study, the following suggestions were made: a method of changing to terms suitable to the digital environment based on the current status analysis; preparation of a new estimation system regarding new estimation items; and re-survey of an estimation system of cadastral confirmation survey and preparation of an estimation system.

Lim, Byung-In ; Kim, Sung-Tai ; Jung, Ji-Un ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 31~39
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.31
This paper examines trends of the income inequality index and the income quintile share ratios, using the Household Survey released by Statistics Korea. We discuss their respective effects on total income inequality and the income disparity, as a contribution concept defined in this paper for 1990-2014 periods. Main findings are as follows. First, the contribution of 2-person families to total inequality with the current income or the disposable income becomes bigger, and growth rates have been above 10% since 2003. Second, the contribution of 1-person families to income inequality is greater than that of 2-person families. Policy implication is such that the government had better investigate the 1 or 2 person families in-depth to set up the policy measures for weakening the income inequality.

Han, Jeong-Won ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 41~46
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.41
In spite of increasing women migrants, proper social programs based on human rights are hardly found. In this paper, with the implication of 'diaspora', the essential term of multi-culturalism from the perspective of migrant women is briefly discussed. Also, social programs for migrant women are suggested through looking into the experiences of EU. EU policies and social programs are reorganized through data analysis and policy contents analysis. EU has longer history of immigration, and has provided the proper and long-term programs to accept migrant women as the qualified social member. EU social programs are based on the principles of non-discrimination, full employment, human rights and citizenship. Social programs should imply long-term inclusive policy for migrants, and help migrants to experience empowerment in the society. By looking into some examples of social programs of employment, education and general knowledge, useful social programs are to be suggested.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.151
As a lexical meaning, casino is defined as "a certified gambling house, equipped with recreational facilities such as dance and music, etc., where people play roulette or cards." Casinos started from 17th to 18th century for European nobility and their social meetings and established a casino industry framework in the United States in the 1930s. The success of the casino business leads to the increase of sales; it became very helpful for the local and national government revenues and also for the related incidental tasks. Casino operations include a variety of fields, such as general customer management, dealer game management, security, account management, currency exchange, re-exchange management, marketing management, comp management and placement management, etc. These operations should be organically connected to each other by information systems such as a groupware, ERP and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc. In addition, in order to effectively manage comprehensive entertainment service, including accommodation and tourism, it is necessary to develop an information system which supports casino business and collateral entertainment service, collects the data generated throughout the business and provides information about the situations of management. Thus, this study will propose a casino information system designed and implemented, considering these details.
Selecting a key issue through association analysis of realtime search words
Chong, Min-Yeong ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 161~169
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.161
Realtime search words of typical portal sites appear every few seconds in descending order by search frequency in order to show issues increasing rapidly in interest. However, the characteristics of realtime search words reordering within too short a time cause problems that they go over the key issues of the day. This paper proposes a method for deriving a key issue through association analysis of realtime search words. The proposed method first makes scores of realtime search words depending on the ranking and the relative interest, and derives the top 10 search words through descriptive statistics for groups. Then, it extracts association rules depending on 'support' and 'confidence', and chooses the key issue based on the results as a graph visualizing them. The results of experiments show that the key issue through association rules is more meaningful than the first realtime search word.

Kim, Ji-Hong ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 171~177
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.171
The aim of the study is to introduce a software reuse technique into a generalized agile process for a reuse of a product backlog item. The software engineering community has made some efforts to integrate software reuse and agile methods. Most studies have emphasized the use of agile practices in software product line engineering, whereas reuse in agile methods has received little focus. Nevertheless, the activities and artifacts that provided by an agile method exhibit characteristics that promote reuse. In this paper, we identify catalytic activities and characteristics that promote reuse in a generalized agile process, and we suggest a reuse technique for a product backlog item. Based on our results, we integrate a backlog factoring technique into a generalized agile process for reuse. In addition, we apply the proposed technique and demonstrate a prototype of backlog item reuse in agile methods for a restaurant chain application.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.187
If the software is developed to analyze the speech disorder, the application of various converged areas will be very high. This paper implements the user-friendly program based on CART(Classification and regression trees) analysis to distinguish between normal and pathological voices utilizing combination of the acoustical and HOS(Higher-order statistics) parameters. It means convergence between medical information and signal processing. Then the acoustical parameters are Jitter(%) and Shimmer(%). The proposed HOS parameters are means and variances of skewness(MOS and VOS) and kurtosis(MOK and VOK). Database consist of 53 normal and 173 pathological voices distributed by Kay Elemetrics. When the acoustical and proposed parameters together are used to generate the decision tree, the average accuracy is 83.11%. Finally, we developed a program with more user-friendly interface and frameworks.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.245
This study was to develop the predictive model for severity-adjusted mortality of inpatients with multiple chronic conditions and analyse the factors on the variation of hospital standardized mortality ratio(HSMR) to propose the plan to reduce the variation. We collect the data "Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury Survey" from 2008 to 2010 and select the final 110,700 objects of study who have chronic diseases for principal diagnosis and who are over the age of 30 with more than 2 chronic diseases including principal diagnosis. We designed a severity-adjusted mortality predictive model with using data-mining methods (logistic regression analysis, decision tree and neural network method). In this study, we used the predictive model for severity-adjusted mortality ratio by the decision tree using Elixhauser comorbidity index. As the result of the hospital standardized mortality ratio(HSMR) of inpatients with multiple chronic conditions, there were statistically significant differences in HSMR by the insurance type, bed number of hospital, and the location of hospital. We should find the method based on the result of this study to manage mortality ratio of inpatients with multiple chronic conditions efficiently as the national level. So we should make an effort to increase the quality of medical treatment for inpatients with multiple chronic diseases and to reduce growing medical expenses.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.285
The purpose of this study is to compare the status of eyesight according to the change of astigmatism axis in myopic astigmatism and to minimize errors in making astigmatic glasses based on accurate optometry and prescription. The subjects were 93 males and females(186 eyes) who have myopic astigmatism without any ocular disease or systemic disease. We performed comparative analysis on the status of visual acuity according to the change of astigmatism axis to 5, 10 and 15 degree in corrected eyesight 1.0. The direct astigmatism was the most common astigmatism type among the 186 eyes. After all subjects were perfectly corrected into 1.0, the change of astigmatism axis affected eyesight; The results suggested that the more change was made in astigmatism axis, the worse their eyesight would become. The main astigmatism type was changed from direct astigmatism to inverse astigmatism as age increased. The change of the astigmatism axis resulted in failing of corrected eyesight. Therefore, the convergence of examination and correction for astigmatism strength and axis is necessary when conducting refraction inspection for astigmatism.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.313
We investigated the prevalence of extended spectrum
-lactamase (ESBL) genes and 16S rRNA methyltransferase genes to study antimicrobial resistance mechanisms of Enterobacter cloacae strains isolated from a university hospital in the Chungcheong province of Korea. Eight of the bacteria strains involved in this study contained CTX-M-15 type ESBL. Among 8 strains harboring the ESBL gene, 3 strains also harbored armA gene. The three isolates showed resistance to antimicrobial agents belonged to third cephalosporin, aminoglycoside, and fluoroquinolones. Furthermore, interspecies plasmid transfer of the antimicrobial resistant genes may induced horizontal spreading of the genes and emergence of multidrug resistant bacteria. Therefore, surveillance for existence of antimicrobial resistance determinants is important to prevent distribution of antimicrobial resistant strains.

Kim, Byung-Cheol ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 367~380
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.367
This paper proposes a hybrid rendering method which combines pre-computed global illumination results and interactive local illumination techniques and thus could interactively produce photo-realistic visual effects for mobile entertainment applications. The proposed method uses the programmable shading capability of OpenGL, a de facto standard for computer graphics library so that it can be deployed in a real-world development environment. Also, it increases the rendering time by a negligible amount compared to normal rendering time since the pre-computed results are used as operands of plain arithmetic operations. Therefore it is expected to be applicable in practice for mobiles games which require real-time responsiveness to users.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 13, issue 12, 2015, Pages 381~390
DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.381
One of the fundamental requirements of entertainment applications is interactivity with users. The mobile device such as the smartphone, however, does not guarantee it due to the limit of the application processor's computing power, memory size and available electric power of the battery. This paper proposes a methodology to boost responsiveness of interactive applications by taking advantage of the parallel architecture of mobile devices which, for instance, have dual-core, quad-core or octa-core. To harness the multi-core architecture, it exploits the POSIX thread, a platform-independent thread library to be able to be used in various mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, etc. As a useful application example of the methodology, a heavy matrix calculation function was transformed to a parallelized version which showed around 2.5 ~ 3 times faster than the original version in a real-world usage environment.

DOI : 10.14400/JDC.2015.13.12.461
Saussurea lappa is known for a variety of physiological activities as a component but has not known to show the effect of the cellular signaling pathway. We investigated the anti-inflammatory effects by Saussurea lappa ethanol extract on the LPS(lipopolysaccharide) induced nitric oxide (NO) production by RAW 264.7 cell line. It shows the expressions of iNOS and COX-2 at the transcriptional level (RT-PCR). The Saussurea lappa ethanol extract showed transcriptional expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF- and IL-
induced by LPS(lipolysaccharide) in RAW264.7 cell line. Saussurea lappa ethanol extract reduced the LPS-induced expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) at the RNA levels in a concentration-dependent manner. The finding that ethanol extract of Saussurea lappa has an influence on NO (nitric oxide) homeostasis in the study of the action mechanism on the macrophage-mediated inflammatory reaction was considered in terms of convergence. And it is to provide an important basis for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory diseases in the future.
