Shin, Dong-Ro ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 8, issue 3, 2010, Pages 1~17
The purpose of this study was to set up the proper method of corporal punishment. The analysis was based on game theory. Major conclusion were as follows: First, the principle of maximum utility and a rational humane of students were assumed. Second, in the game situation of imperfect information, the actions deserved punishment were done by students and punishment was not done by teachers. Third, in game situation of incomplete information, when the probability of punishment is over 50%, ill actions were done by students. Forth, in game situation of complete information, the actions deserved punishment were not done by students, punishment didn't have to be done by teachers. Fifth, in game situation of complete information, when the written agreement for punishment of teacher-students was carried out, the student's school life satisfaction measurement was improved significantly.
Evaluating Usability of E-government Web Sites Using the AHP
Byun, Dae-Ho ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 8, issue 3, 2010, Pages 19~37
One of the core issues in the realization of e-government is the effective implementation of a website. The current trend of e-government is developing individual web sites and portals, covering such fields as education, tax, economics, real estate, travel, and health. Evaluating e-government web sites is essential for improving web sites. These principles can be included in usability in a broader concept. Website usability has attracted considerable research on website evaluation and has been regarded as one of the most important criteria for measuring and evaluating websites. Usable e-government web sites make citizens willing to search for helpful information or solve their civil applications. The objective of this paper is to suggest an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for evaluating e-government web sites. The proposed AHP method has two special characteristics compared to general AHP approaches. First, all citizens who are e-government users can evaluate both the usability criteria and the web sites, but the weighting mechanism differs between criteria and web sites. Secondly, a pairwise comparison is time-consuming and not cost effective with many criteria. Therefore for evaluating a website with respect to a sub-criterion, we develop checklist items as measure scales with a seven-point rating. This method is efficient as it enable us to avoid the pairwise comparison mechanism between sub-criteria. A new computation procedure for the AHP is developed that combines and synthesizes priorities of portals in the case that two decision maker groups are involved.

The mobile commerce (m-commerce) has very high market value unlike other technology innovation areas in IT industries and also changing rapidly. Therefore, it is fact that the development of the effective business strategy is challenging in a digital convergence era of m-commerce context. In most of the researches, m-commerce has dealt with conceptual study such as establishment of definition. There are not many studies of influence of information valuation evaluation on users' satisfaction have done so far. In this paper, we have reported a theoretical study as well as empirical analysis and examined an influence of information valuation evaluation have on users' satisfaction. Effect of Education Service Quality affecting Student Satisfaction in Cyber University
Kim, Joon-Woo ; Kim, Yong-Gu ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 8, issue 3, 2010, Pages 115~127
This study investigates the effect of E-learning service quality toward users' learning satisfactions when moderating by users' study motivations at cyber universities. For this end, the E-learning service quality was measured with SERVQUAL which was widely employed in academic research area. From rich survey analysis, this study finds that the three factors of E-learning service quality such as concreteness, certainty, credibility and sympathy are statistically correlated with users' learning satisfactions, but the responsiveness is not. Also in order to test the hypothesis that the study motivation is a moderate variable, the three step regression analysis was applied. Finally, this research finds that the study motivation has the role of moderate variable to affect the users' learning satisfactions.

Kim, Byoung-Gil ; Lee, Ki-Dong ;
Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 8, issue 3, 2010, Pages 129~141
Though an internet survey, an alternative method for the off-line survey, has various merits is, it still has some problems such as sampling bias and low reliability from insincerity during survey. Especially the exogenous variables such as sample respondents of the environment should be controlled to make internet survey trustworthy. This study attempts to design and implement such system that can help researchers to control the network and sampling environment and behaviors on respondents. Thru the various Question forms and structured Questionnaire design, this study tries to contribute the improvement of survey satisfaction and the reliability for survey result in internet survey system.

Journal of Digital Convergence, volume 8, issue 3, 2010, Pages 143~154
This paper is to understand what effects the introduction of IFRS(International Financial Reporting Standard) will have on legacy AIS(Accounting Information System) and how to minimize the problems of that. In order to meet that purpose, we have to recognize the difference between K-GAAP(Korea-Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and K-IFRS(Korea-International Financial Reporting Standards) first. And then we try to find out what effects the difference between K-GAAP and K-IFRS will have on the legacy AIS. In order to avoid the disorder When K-IFRS will be introduced to the company, new functions have to be added to existing system in proper manner and some existing functions should be changed correctly according to K-IFRS. And CIO(Chief Information Officer) should have to make a careful decision what is the better solution between in-house development and outsourcing for developing new system.

Recently, energy saving is a important concern. IT fields, also, are try to reduce the electricity during the IT service, that links to green IT. Especially, green data center is a hot issue, because there are many new projects to build large data center, that spends huge electricity. Even though there are many new projects, the process to build the green data center is not arranged. That depend on the personal experience during the data center construction. Especially, cooling is complex and many problem to reduce the electricity. So, this research provides the method, that is consisted of tasks, activities, and guideline to build the green data center.
