Korean Species of the Tribe Cochylini(Lepidoptera, Tortricidae)
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 1~15
Twenty six species of 8 genera of the Korean Cochylini belonging to Tortricidae, excluding a genus Phalonidia, are recognized during the course of this study. Among them 7 species, Aethes citreoflavus Kuznetsov, Cochylidia heydeniana (Herrich- Sch
ffer), C. moguntiana (R
sier), Eupoecilia angustana (H
bner), E. kobeana Razowski, Pseudargyrotoza calvicaput (Walsingham), and Stenodes cuspidatus Ge, are reported for the first time from Korea. A key to the genera is given. Male and female genitalic structures of 7 unrecorded species are briefly redescribed and illustrated.
Terrestrial Hypotrichous Ciliates from Chindo Island, Korea
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 17~24
Five hypotrichs inhabiting the representative aquatic and terrestrial habitats of Chindo Island, Strongylidium muscorum, Gonostomum affine, Histriculus cavicola, H. muscorum, Steinia quadrinucleata are discovered from Chindo Island. Of these, two species, Strongylidium muscorum Kahl, 1932 and Steinia quadrinucleata Dragesco and Njine, 1971 are newly recorded from Korea.
Studies on the Tribe Philonthini(Colepptera: Staphylinidae) from Korea II. Genus Babronthus Tottenham
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 25~31
Genus Gabronthus from Korea is firstly investigated. Three species are identified. Of them, two species, G. tenuicorpus and G. chejuensis, are new species, and G. sulcifrons is newly recorded in Korea. A taxonomic key and species descriptions are presented.
Descriptions of Two New Lotobia Species with Reanalysis of Intrageneric Relationships and Discussion of the Systematic Status of Lotobia Lioy within the Subfamily Sphaerocerinae (Dipter : Sphaeroceridae)
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 33~43
Two new species from Africa, Lotobia nigeriana and L. southafricana, are described and illustrated. These two new species are similar each other, but can be differentiated based on the coloration and male genitalic structure. Relationships among all 24 Lotobia species are analyzed using cladistic method. Revised synapomorphies for the genus Lotobia are provided and taxonomic status of the genera of the subfamily Sphaerocerinae is also discussed.
Two new species of Membraniporoidea(Bryozoa:Cheilostomata) from Korea
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 45~51
Two new species of the superfamily Membraniporoidea, Conopeum hexagonum and Gregarinidra corbulra, are reported from Korea. These two genera are new to the Korean fauna. The former species is characteristic in the shape of zooids and the latter one in the number of spines.
Taxonomic Study on the Digonont Rotifers of Korea
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 53~59
The rotifers collected from various terrestrial habitats, such as mosses, lichens, dry detritus and temporary pools after rain were investigated. Five species and/or subspecies in two families of digonont rotifers were identified: Rotaria tardigrada, Macrotrachela quadricornifera quadricornifera, Macrotrachela quadricornifera scutellata, Adineta vaga minor, Adineta steineri. All these are new to Korean fauna. This is the first taxonomic study on the Korean digonont rotifers.
First Records of Two Apogonid Fishes (Perciformes : Apogon) from Korea, with a Key to Apogon Species
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 61~66
Two species of apogonid fishes, Apogon endekataenia Bleeker and A. notatus Houttuyn, were recently collected from coastal water in Cheju Island, Korea. These species are redescribed and figured here as new to Korea. A key to nine species of the genus Apogon from Korea is presented.
Four Hydromedusae (Cnidaria : Hydrozoa) from Korea Waters
Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity, volume 12, issue 1, 1996, Pages 67~77
Some hydromedusae were collected from the western and southern coasts of Korean Peninsula during May to October, 1995. They were identified into Turritopsis nutricula(McCrady, 1856); Cladonema radiatum Dujardin, 1843; Eirene menoni Kramp, 1953 and Gonionemus vertens A. Agassiz, 1862. Of which the hydromedusa of T. nutricula is preliminary known in Korean waters, and the remainders are new to the Korean fauna.
