Larval Development of Philyra pisum De Haan, 1841(Crustacea: Decapoda: Leucosiidae)Reared in the Laboratory

The complete larval development of Philyra pisum De Hann, 1841 from hatching to the megalopal stage was obtained by culture in the laboratory. Two zoeal and one megalopal stages are described and illustrated . The frist zoea of the present species is very similar to those of other two Philyra species except for the reduced carapace spines. The first zoeae belonging to the subfamily Philyrinae can be divided into two groups based on the zoeal characteristics: the first group is composed of Arcania septemspinosa, A. undecimspinosa elongata, and Myra fugax, whereas the second group is composed of Philyra corallicola, P. syndactyla, and P. pisum.
A New Genus and Species, Koreoxyomus koreanus, from Korea and Taxonomic Discussion on the Genus Mozartius of Japan(Coleoptera, Aphodiidae)

A new genus and species belonging to the family Aphodiidae (Coleoptera) Koreoxyomus koreanus gen. et sp. nov., is described from Korea. And a genus known from Japan, Mozartius is discussed because it is almost same taxa with present new genus but its original description is not stable taxonomically.
Taxonomic Study on the Tribe Quediini(Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) from Korea

The tribe Quediini from Korea is examined. One new species, Velleius circumipectus, and one new subspecies, Quedius japonicus sachonensis, are described, and four species, Heterothops rotundiceps, Q. japonicus (s. str.), Q. simulans, and V. setosus, are recorded firstly in Korea. As a result, Korean fauna of the tribe Quediini comprises 10 species and one subspecies belonging to three genera.
Phylogeny and Speciation of Entomobryoidea (Collembola, Insecta) from Korea

In order to understand affinities and phylogeny of three families of the Superfamily Entomobryoidea allozyme analysis was performed with three species presumably representing each family, in addition to four species belonging to the neighboring Superfamily Poduroidea together. Electrophoresis for this purpose produced data for calculating allele frequency and enabled to obtain genetic distance and to depict dendrograms as well. The species of Isotomidae, Entomobryidae and Tomoceridae were clustered together whereas those of Hypogastruridae, Onychiuridae and Neanuridae were grouped as monophylies, respectively. Even though Tomoceridae and Entomobryidae were brought together they are considered complete families by showing high genetic distance value between them, thus supporting the hypothesis on their affinity among others. Gulgastrura reticulosa has been revealed to be separated from Hypogastruridae by being clustered rather with Onychiuridae. However, its high genetic distance value suggests the status as an independent family. The present result agreed with the phylogeny of Suborder Arthropleona divided into two Superfamilies mentioned above as in conventional systematics and also when compared with analysis of data of their morphological characters as well as 18S rDNA performed and published elsewhere by the present writers.
Water Miter of Axonopsinae (Acarina, Aturidae) from Korea

Eleven species of water mites belonging to the subfamily Axonopsinae are described from the eastern area of Korea. They were collected mainly in streams and are composed of 3 species of Albaxona(all new), 1 new species of Javalbia., 2 species of Brachypoda(both new), 2 species of woolastookia (both new), 2 species of Ljania (1 is new), and 1 species of Lethaxona(new record). The descriptions are mainly based on the male specimens.
A New species of Terrestrial Isopoda, Papuasoniscus lutaoensis, from Taiwan(Oniscidea, Platyarthridae)

Papuasoniscus lutaoensis, n. sp. is described from Taiwan. The genus Papuasoniscus is redefined.
The Pseudoscorpion FamilyChthoniidae(Arachnida: Pseudoscorpionida) in Korea, with Two New Species from the Genus Tyrannochthonius

As a result of this report, the pseudoscorpion family Chthoniidae in Korea comprises nine species in four genera. All species are collected mainly from the litter layer in wooded forests. The two new species, Tyrannochthonius suppressalis n. sp. and Tyrannochthonius spinatus n. sp., described herein occur on islands in the Yellow Sea.
A New Species of the Genus periphyllus (Homoptera: Aphididae : Chaitophorinae) from Korea
