Diesel particulate filter has been adopted in new vehicle with diesel engine. Since the flow of exhaust gas was clogged as particulate matters were deposited in the filter, it have bad effects on a fuel consumption and power. It was investigated that a particulate filtering system with vacuum pump in the exhaust gas line could be free from clogging in previous research. In this study, the effects of water injection and position of inlet port in filtering system on reducing in particulate matter were investigated. It was noticed that particulate matter were decreased remarkable by water injection and moving the position of inlet port.

In this research paper, we study on how to decrease the high vibration of turbine hood casings which are main facilities of power generation industry. Cause of Standard coal-fired power 500MW facilities turbine hoods' high vibration is that Natural frequency of hood casing designed in near domain frequency, when they are making hoods. Study on the Heat and Mass Transfer Characteristics of Oyster Shell Flowing through the Bundle of Heating Pipes

This study is experimentally performed for using the oyster shell as a desiccant in the fluidized bed with bundle of heating pipe. The test material is oyster shell from fishery wastes which can use without costs. The main parameters of experiment are inlet air temperature, velocity of inlet air and heat flux of heating pipes. Also the geometry of heating pipe is treated as important parameter. From this study, the effect of inlet air temperature and input heat flux have much affect to increase the heat and mass transfer. On the other hand, the effect of inlet air velocity has less affect to increase the heat and mass transfer. And it is clarified that the oyster shell has sufficient probability for using as a desiccant in air-conditioning system.

Generally, the chassis of an indoor RAC is composed of a rear-guider and a stabilizer. The aerodynamic performance of a cross-flow fan is strongly influenced by the various design factors of the chassis of an indoor RAC. A Study on the Characteristics of Refrigerating System according to the Condensation and Evaporation Load

The refrigerating system are high efficiency and comfortable due to the automation of the system as well as enhance energy saving are contributing to driving system. Previous study the rotational frequency of the compressor was confined to the fixed condition have changed load of evaporator and condenser related about the refrigerator performance characteristic according to the evaporation load and condensation load change tries to be analyze through the experiment. The useful data for the economic driving of the freezing apparatus tries to be drawn. Consequently, it confirmed that refrigerant in the compressor overheated and as the evaporation load increased the specific volume was increased and the coolant circulation rate decreased. In confirmed that condensation load increased the compression ratio and discharge gas temperature increased. It reduced the low-temperature efficiency and condensation calorie and the quality factor was decreased.
Analysis of Performance Characteristics in the Counter and Parallel Type Plate Evaporator with Operating Methods

The analysis of performance characteristics was carried out in the plate type evaporator with counter and parallel flow. To investigate performance of evaporator with water inlet temperature and refrigerant mass flow rate were changed. As a result, when the inlet temperature of water is
, capacity of parallel flow evaporator higher than counter flow is 0.35%. But as the inlet temperature of water rises from
, capacity of counter flow type evaporator higher than parallel flow type is 0.12%, 0.27%, 1.1%, 1.6%, respectively. The findings showed that counter flow type evaporator has a larger capacity than those that were parallel flow type evaporator. As the refrigerant mass flow rate rises, capacity and pressure drop increases in the counter and parallel flow type evaporator.

This study focus on the analysis of the energy performance in accordance with apartment houses arrangement type by using Ecotect Analysis. Korea, energy-poor country, the rate of dependence on imports amount to 94%, have to reduce energy consumption part of building except in industry and transport which affect the economic. Apartment houses are built in various forms in order to reduce energy, are modelled in each window area ratio, shape, orientation, climate through simulation. Through this study, we can analyze energy performance by form, window area ratio, orientation, climate change and know the optimal elements by the form. In particular, although there have been studied research on the window area ratio and research related to the arrangement form, determined that the information on the regional climate characteristics and the direction of placement is less than existing research. To supplement those problem, adding to seven direction(West, S-60-W, S-30-W, South, S-30-E, S-60-E, East) and climatic element(southern region) is characteristic of this study. The form of apartment houses was modelled for apartment houses built in the 10 years since. And each modeling were analyzed by Ecotect Analysis.
Forming Analysis for Optimization of 18 Stage Roll Forming Process

The under rail slide is the latest device to make accurate rectilinear reciprocating motion. In these day, 3-point type is used mostly for the products requiring high strength and performance such as refrigerator door guide or furniture drawer guide. However, It is all imported from foreign countries due to lack of the roll forming technique to make 3-point type under rail slide in domestic. Therefore, design and manufacturing technology for the 3-point type under rail slide are need to development through systematic study. In this paper, to make center member of 3-point ball-type under rail slide for the refrigerator doors, the roll forming modeling and simulation are performed using Shape-RF software. Tensile test is performed about SCP-1 1/2H for determine the mechanical properties of materials. Interference between the roll and the final shape are predicted from the results of the simulation ; this result show that the desirable performance and usefulness of the designed roll forming process.
The Controller Design for Lane Following with 3-Degree of Freedom Vehicle Dynamics

Many articles have been published about a 2-degree of freedom model that includes the lateral and yaw motions for controller synthesis in intelligent transport system applications. In this paper, a 3-degree of freedom linear model that includes the roll motion is developed to design a robust steering controller for lane following maneuvers using
-synthesis. This linear perturbed system includes a set of parametric uncertainties in cornering stiffness and unmodelled dynamics in steering actuators. The state-space model with parametric uncertainties is represented in linear fractional transformation form. Design purpose can be obtained by properly choosing the frequency dependent weighting functions. The objective of this study is to keep the tracking error and steering input energy small in the presence of variations of the cornering stiffness coefficients. Furthermore, good ride quality has to be achieved against these uncertainties. Frequency-domain analyses and time-domain numerical simulations are carried out in order to evaluate these performance specifications of a given vehicle system. Finally, the simulation results indicate that the proposed robust controller achieves good performance over a wide range of uncertainty for the given maneuvers.
Position Control of Motion Stage using Disturbance Observer

For commercialized servo drives of the motion stage to include embedded controller, external terminal is provided for tracking command and encoder output, but internal terminal is not for control input. Thus, it is difficult to combine out signal of embedded controller with that of external compensator such as disturbance observer. In this study, for precise tracking control of motion stage without hardware change of the servo drive, tacking control system is composed of an inner loop of servo drive and an outer loop of disturbance observer. Then, the control system is designed so that the output response of actual plant corresponds with nominal model's in transient state as well as in steady state. Finally, the experiment results show that the designed control system is effective to reconcile actual plant behavior with nominal model under nonlinear friction and parameter perturbation.
A Study on Control System Design for Ship Mooring Winch System

In this paper, the authors consider control system design problem of barge type surface vessel. It is based on the Dynamic Positioning System(DPS) design problem. The main role of barge ship is to carry and supply the materials to the floating units and other places. To carry out this job, it should be positioned in the specified area. Even though sometimes the thrust systems are installed on it, in general the mooring winch system with the rope is used. It may be difficult to compare the control performances of two types. But, if we consider this problem in point of usefulness, we can easily find out that the winch control system is more useful and applicable to the real field than the thrust control system except a special use. Therefore, in this paper we consider a single type mooring winch system and control system design problem in which accurate position control is needed. Because this result can be extended to the general type mooring system in which a number of winch are installed. At first, a mathematical model of winch is obtained and evaluated to verify the usefulness for control system design by experiment. Also, the disturbance model is extracted from experiment data to evaluate the strength of the uncertainty. Based on this results, the robust control system is designed and control performance is evaluated by simulation.
Study on the Acceptance and Establishment of Automobile Terminology

As the Western technologies have been introduced to our culture since the modern age. We have uncritically accepted Japanese style terminology for new things without reflection on the relations of concept, language and fact. Concept is the basis of human thinking and also a criterion of distinguishing what we see and hear. Thus, establishment of concept and naming are important once new technologies or objects are created. In the study, we will take automobile terminology which is relatively familiar to us for example in order to explain the importance of naming. We will reflect our reality where the Japanese style terminology and English style terminology for the automobile components and structures are mixed up and urge the need of establishing the easier terminology. Reorganizing the terminology is also important but automotive engineers and linguists need to work together on ways to translate the terminology into easier ones for common people.
An Influence on the City Noise of Colonial Joseon by the Motor Vehicle Horn

After the port opening in 1876, the western people made joseon image as the land of morning calm. there was a conception that joseon was a uncultivated country in the meaning of the land of morning calm. famous modernists such as gil-jun yu, kwang-su lee also had same conception. but such conception began to change in 1930's. the number of motor vehicle began to increase rapidly in 1930's. and also many of motor vehicle were equipped with air horn or electronic horn instead of bulb horn. bulb horn made thick and low rubber sound. but air horn or electronic horn made sharp and high metallic sound. city people of colonial joseon began to recognize air horn or electronic horn as city noise. so they tried to control the use of air horn or electronic horn. finally, in late 1930's, the use of air horn and electronic horn were prohibited.
Study on the psychology of car tuning

This paper aimed at analyzing the psychology of the people who tunes the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire. The theory of unconscious desire to approach human psychology has two features. One point is that it can be applied only to human beings in the sense that animals does not have the unconscious. The other is that we can categorize some types of underlying unconscious desire instead of seeing human desire as the sundry desires according to the specific target. In this paper, we looked at the characteristics of each type of data obtained through interviews for people to tune the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire.
