Flow Analysis of Cryogenic Check Valve for LNG

Swing check valve is opened when the flow direction is forward, when the flow is reversed, the valve is automatically closed by back pressure. In this study, the internal flow field analysis of the valve was conducted by Fluent. The working fluid used in the study, using liquefied methane
(CH4) and velocity field, pressure field, pressure drop coefficient were simulated by varying separately the opening divergence into four intervals from 0 to 100%. The approximate research result are as follow : When the opening divergence is smaller, it appears high pressure on the upstream side, this value is relaxed when the opening divergence is large. Flow rate coefficient of the valve shows a larger value as the degree of opening becomes larger, confirming that the check valve used in the study is in the effective flow rate counting range.
The Performance Analysis of Multi Stage Reheater Organic Rankine Cycle According to Heat Sink Temperature Change

In this study, the simulation for performance comparison between basic single stage organic rankine cycle, multi stage reheater cycle and multi stage reheater & recuperator cycle was carried out. The multi stage reheater cycle and multi stage reheater & recuperator cycle was designed to improve the efficiency for organic rankine cycle using heat source from industrial waste heat and heat sink from deep ocean water. R245fa was selected as a refrigerant for the cycle and system efficiencies were simulated by the variation of the heat sink temperature and the cycle classification. Performance characteristics were simulated by using the Aspen HYSYS. It was confirmed that the system efficiency was decreased by the increase of heat sink temperature. These results can be considered to be applied as geo-ocean thermal energy conversion in where plenty of geothermal or ocean thermal resource exist.

As diesel engines have high power and good fuel economy on top of less

Remotely operated vehicles or autonomous underwater vehicles have been used for exploiting seabed natural resources. In this study, the autonomous underwater vehicle of hovering type(HAUV) is developed to observe underwater objects in close distance. A dynamic model with six degrees of freedom is established, capturing the motion characteristics of the HAUV. The equations of motion are generated for the dynamic control simulation of the HAUV. The added mass, drag and lift forces are included in the computer model. Computational fluid dynamics simulation is carried out using this computer model. The drag coefficients are produced from the CFD.
De-Ash Characteristics using a Cleaning Agent KOH of CDPF for PM Reduction of Diesel Engines

The objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical properties of the catalysts and the feasibility of remanufacturing them after removing ash in CDPF using a cleaning agent KOH. Compared with the carbon oxidation ability of fresh CDPF, that of de-ashed CDPF had an insignificant difference due to the low activation energy of CO and
. As ash deposited in CDPF was de-ashed with KOH, it had a practical feasibility on remanufacturing point of view, but washcoat was melted about 26%. Further studies were required for the prevention of washcoat loss.

Effects of austenite on the pitting corrosion in 202 stainless steel with two phase of austenite and martensite were investigated through the electrochemical polarization test. Two phases structures of martensite and austenite were obtained by reversed annealing treatment at the range of
for 10min. in 70% cold-rolled 202 stainless steel. Volume fraction of reversed austenite has increased rapidly with an increase of annealing temperature. Pitting corrosion has arisen mainly on martensite phase in 202 stainless steel with two phases of austenite and martensite. Pitting current density has decreased with an increase of volume fraction of austenite. Consequently, pitting corrosion at martensite has occurred largely with an increase of volume fraction of austenite. Pitting corrosion was affected by volume fraction of austenite.

This study showed that on-site ferrate(VI) solution was synthesized by wet oxidation method and applied aqueous 2,4-dichlorophenol(DCP) solution to evaluate the degradation efficiency. On-site ferrate(VI) solution was synthesized by putting

An Investigation on Turbulent Flow Characteristics According to the Operating Loads of Three-Dimensional Small-Size Axial Fan by Large Eddy Simulation

This paper handled an investigation on the turbulent flow characteristics of three-dimensional small-size axial fan(SSAF) according to operating loads. Also, it was carried out by unsteady-state, incompressible and three-dimensional large eddy simulation(LES). The downstream flow type of SSAF is changed from axial flow to radial flow around the beginning of stall region at the aerodynamic performance curve. Axial mean velocity component largely grows around blade tip at the operating point of A to D, but transverse and vertical mean velocity components as well as Reynolds shear stresses highly develop around blade tip at the operating point of E to H. On the other hand, the peak value of turbulent kinetic energy developed around blade tip shows the highest at the operating point of E.

In this study, design the core part of the driving of the robot. The power of the driving is window motor for automobiles obtained by using a method of directly to the motor shaft of the worm gear type. The decelerator consists of a worm gear to receive power from the motor shaft, Helical gear contact to worm gear, a pinion gear to be connected in line with the helical gear, and an output shaft to be engaged to the pinion gear. Drive system by using the power from the motor shaft based on the deceleration gear designed by the gear ratio set by the gear teeth increases the torque.

The study is arranged in the form of plate-shaped in the Apartment Houses with placed at right angles. After examined the daylight environment and the indoor illumination in this form of Apartment Houses, in order to improve the daylight environment of the lower floors, I examined the daylight environment. In order to match the indoor illumination, as a standard illumination 400lx, I examine the necessary lighting energy based on the direction and time for the different parts in the Apartment Houses, As the first floor, the lowest power requirement appeared to the South(457W), and the most power requirement appeared to the East(843W).

The local heat transfer and pressure drops of developed turbulent flows in the convergent channels with square cross-sectional areas along the streamwise distance have been investigated experimentally. Four different parallel angled ribs (a =
) are placed to the one sided wall only, respectively. The ribbed walls are manufactured with a fixed rib height (e)=10 mm and the ratio of rib spacing (p) to height (e) = 10. The measurement was run within the range of Reynolds numbers from 22,000 to 79,000. The result shows that the increases in the Nusselt numbers for the flow attack angles can be seen in the order of
