G. Cantor gave a deep influence to the society of mathematics in many ways, especially in the set theory. It is important for gifted and talented high school students in mathematics to understand the Euler constant and the fractal dimension of the Cantor set in a heuristic sense. On the historic basis of mathematics and the standard of high school students, we give the teaching method for the talented high school student to understand them better. Further we introduce the Riesz-N
cs distribution and its first moment. We hope that from these topics, the gifted and talented students in mathematics will have insight in the analysis of mathematics.
수세기를 통한 순열과 조합의 이해

Permutation and combination are the part of mathematics which can be introduced the pliability and diversity of thought. In prior studies of permutation and combination, there treated difficulties of learning, strategy of problem solving, and errors that students might come up with. This paper provides the method so that meaningful teaching and learning might occur through the systematic approach of permutation and combination. But there were little prior studies treated counting numbers that basic of mathematics' action. Therefore this paper tries to help the understanding of permutation and combination with the process of changing from informal knowledge to formal knowledge.
경영수학입문 교과목 교수-학습지도 개선 방안 - Webwork 시스템 활용 과제를 중심으로

In this paper, we conduct a questionnaire survey on the actual conditions and the test on the basic scholastic ability of the students who register for the course, Introduction of Business Mathematics. We want to find the ways to improve the teaching-learning methods for this course. Especially, the registered students have difficulties in the following the course because they have not studied Calculus in their high school. So we give them several assignments on the Webwork system, an internet based homework management system, and analyze its effect on the students' scholastic achievement. And we propose a teaching-learning method suitable for the course.

기하 증명 읽기 이해 모델의 적용 효과

In mathematics, the education of the geometry proof has been playing an important role in promoting the ability for logical thinking by means of developing the deductive reasoning. However, despite of those importance mentioned above, considering the present condition for the education of the geometry proof in middle schools, it is still found that most of classes are led mainly by teachers, operating the cramming system of eduction, and students in those classes have many difficulties in learning the geometry proof course. Accordingly this thesis suggests the other method that is distinguished from previous proof educations. The thesis of Kai-Lin Yang and Fou-Lai Lin on 'A Model of Reading Comprehension of Geometry Proof (RCGP)', which was published in 2007, have various practical examples based on the model. After composing classes based on those examples and instructing the geometry proof, found out a problem. And then advance a new teaching model that amendment and supplementation However, it is considered to have limitation because subjects were minority and classes were operated by man-to-man method. Hopefully, the method of proof education will be more developed through performing more active researches on this in the nearest future.
초등수학에서의 Maths 300 교구 프로그램 활용방안

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the manipulative materials in the Australian Maths 300 program by applying it to Korean Elementary Mathematics Education - based on parts of 'Probability and Statistics', and 'Symbol and Expression'. In order to this purpose, we select appropriate Maths 300's manipulate materials that could be used to obtain learning objectives within class time for each part, four lessons with the materials were taught at to third, fourth, and fifth grade students of elementary School. The effect of the teaching was analyzed by videotape and student opinion. The results of this study are the following: First, the manipulative tools were almost entirely lacking for the 'Probability and Statistics' section without a 'number of cases' unit. The tools presented in the 'Symbol and Expression' section were helpful in the games that were used for checking preceding learning. Second, the results of using the Math 300 manipulative materials in class showed that the students were eager to be involved in the activities using those materials and to find their own solutions in problem-solving questions that were suited to them; these led to them making their own questions. In response to questioning about the use of the manipulative materials, the students stated that it was easy and fun for them to use the manipulative materials, to solve the problems for themselves, and that they would like to continue practicing the activities in the future. Finally, Studies on the presentation of a variety of manipulative materials including those in this study that can used in problem-solving learning and other learning fields, and the methodology for the use of manipulative materials can be enhanced through further studies.

Renzulli 수학 영재 교수-학습 모형 적용에 관한 연구

In this paper we apply to Renzulli's Teaching and Learning models for mathematically gifted students based on the gifted science education center in university. Gifted students were very positive reaction in solving problems creatively using this program, and they were challenging and very confident performing new tasks. They reacted variously in debates with their classmates, in self-initiative studying. So more positive changes are needed for the activities using the gifted learning-teaching program to let each student have full use of his or her possibility and potential.
화이트헤드의 철학과 수학 교육

Whitehead's philosophy is evaluated as an applicable philosophy and an accurate, logical explanation system about the world through mathematics. Whitehead's ideological development can be divided into mathematical research, critical consciousness about sciences and philosophical exploration. Although it is presented as a whole unified conceptual framework to understand nature and human beings which is based on modern mathematics and physics in the 20th century, Whitehead's philosophy has not been sufficiently understood and evaluated about the full meaning and mathematics educational values. In this paper, we study relations of Whitehead's philosophy and the mathematical education. Moreover, we study implicity of mathematical education.
