CHARACTERIZATIONS OF BOUNDED VECTOR MEASURES
Ronglu, Li ; Kang, Shin-Min ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 209~215
Abstract
Let X be a locally convex space. A series of clearcut characterizations for the boundedness of vector measure
is obtained, e.g.,
is bounded if and only if
weakly for every disjoint
and if and only if
is bounded for every disjoint

ON RIGHT QUASI-DUO RINGS WHICH ARE II-REGULAR
Kim, Nam-Kyun ; Lee, Yang ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 217~227
Abstract
This paper is motivated by the results in [2], [10], [13] and [19]. We study some properties of generalizations of commutative rings and relations between them. We also show that for a right quasi-duo right weakly
ring R, R is an (S,2)-ring if and only if every idempotent in R is a sum of two units in R, which gives a generalization of [2, Theorem 4] on right quasi-duo rings. Moreover we find a condition which is equivalent to the strongly
of an abelian right quasi-duo ring.

GENERALIZED SOLUTION OF THE DEPENDENT IMPULSIVE CONTROL SYSTEM CORRESPONDING TO VECTOR-VALUED CONTROLS OF BOUNDED VARIATION
Shin, Chang-Eon ; Ryu, Ji-Hyun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 229~247
Abstract
This paper is concerned with the impulsive Cauchy problem where the control function u is a possibly discontinuous vector-valued function with finite total variation. We assume that the vector fields f,
(i=1,…, m) are dependent on the time variable. The impulsive Cauchy problem is of the form x(t)=f(t,x) +
,
[0,T], x(0)=
, where the vector fields f,
:
are measurable in t and Lipschitz continuous in x, If
satisfy a condition that
$\forallt_1\; <\; t-2,x\; {\epsilon}\;\mathbb{R}^n$ for some increasing function
, then the imput-output function can be continuously extended to measurable functions of bounded variation.

MORITA EQUIVALENCE FOR NONCOMMUTATIVE TORI
Park, Chun-Gil ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 249~254
Abstract
We give an easy proof of the fact that every noncommutative torus
is stably isomorphic to the noncommutative torus
which hasa trivial bundle structure. It is well known that stable isomorphism of two separable
is equibalent to the existence of eqivalence bimodule between the two stably isomorphic
and
.

COMPLETE CONVERGENCE FOR ARRAYS OF ROWWISE INDEPENDENT RANDOM VARIABLES(II)
Sung, Soo-Hak ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 255~263
Abstract
Let
be an array of rowwise independent, but not necessarily identically distributed, random variables with
=0 for all k and n. In this paper, we povide a domination condition under which ${\sum^{u_n}}_=u_n\; S_{nk}/n^{1/p},\; 1\; \leq\; p\;<2$ converges completely to zero.

RESULTS ON THE RANGE OF DERIVATIONS
Jung, Yong-Soo ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 265~272
Abstract
Let D be a derivation on an Banach algebra A. Suppose that [[D(x), x], D(x)] lies in the nil radical of A for all
. Then D(A) is contained in the Jacobson radical of A.

THE ASYMPTOTIC STABILITY OF SOME INTEGRODIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
Chern, Jann-Long ; Huang, Shu-Zhu ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 273~283
Abstract
In this paper we consider two delay equations with in-finite delay. We will give two sufficient conditions for the positive and zero equilibriums of these equations to be a global attractor respectively.

Kwon, G.G ; Lee, S.T ; Shon, K.H ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 285~289
Abstract
An additional term between the arithmetic mean and the geometric mean is presented.

HARMONIC MEROMORPHIC STARLIKE FUNCTIONS
Jahangiri, Jay, M. ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 291~301
Abstract
We give sufficient coefficient conditions for a class of meromorphic univalent harmonic functions that are starlike of some order. Furthermore, it is shown that these conditions are also necessary when the coefficients of the analytic part of the function are positive and the coefficients of the co-analytic part of the function are negative. Extreme points, convolution and convex combination conditions for these classes are also determined. Fianlly, comparable results are given for the convex analogue.

THE CAUCHY PROBLEM FOR A DENGERATE PARABOLIC EQUATION WITH ABSORPTION
Lee, Jin-Ho ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 303~316
Abstract
The Cauchy problem for degenerate parabolic equations with absorption is studied. We prove the existence of a fundamental solution. Also a Harnack type inequality is established and the existence and uniqueness of initial trace for nonnegative solutions is shown.

Jung, Yoon-Tae ; Kim, Yun-Jeong ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 317~336
Abstract
In this paper, when N is a compact Riemannian manifold, we discuss the method of using warped products to construct timelike or null future (or past) complete Lorentzian metrics on
with specific scalar curvatures.

EQUATIONS OF GEODESICS IN A TWO-DIMENSIONAL FINSLER SPACE WITH A GENERALIZED KROPINA METRIC
Park, Hong-Suh ; Lee, Il-Yong ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 337~346
Abstract
The geodesic equation in a two-dimensional Finsler space is given by the differential equation of the Weierstrass form. In the present paper, we express the differential equations of geodesics in a two-dimensional Finsler space with a generalized Kropina metric.

A PROPAGATION OF QUADRATICALLY HYPONORMAL WEIGHTED SHIFTS
Choi, Yong-Bin ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 347~352
Abstract
In this note we answer to a question of Curto: Non-first two equal weights in the weighted shift force subnormality in the presence of quadratic hyponormality. Also it is shown that every hyponormal weighted shift with two equal weights cannot be polynomially hyponormal without being flat.

A COMPARISON THEOREM OF THE EIGENVALUE GAP FOR ONE-DIMENSIONAL BARRIER POTENTIALS
Hyun, Jung-Soon ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 353~360
Abstract
The fundamental gap between the lowest two Dirich-let eigenvalues for a Schr dinger operator HR={{{{ { { d}^{2 } } over { { dx}^{2 } } }}}}+V(x) on L({{{{ LEFT | -R,R RIGHT | }}}}) is compared with the gap for a same operator Hs with a different domain {{{{ LEFT [ -S,S RIGHT ] }}}} and the difference is exponentially small when the potential has a large barrier.

CONTROLLABILITY OF LINEAR AND SEMILINEAR CONTROL SYSTEMS
Jeong, Jin-Mun ; Park, Jong-Yeoul ; Park, Chul-Yun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 361~376
Abstract
Our purpose is to seek that the reachable set of the semilinear system
is equivalent to that of its corresponding to linear system (the case where f=0).Under the assumption that the system of generalized eigenspaces of A is complete, we will show that the reachable set corresponding to the linear system is independent of t in case A generates
. An illustrative example for retarded system with time delay is given in the last section.

ON PURE-STRATEGY EQUILIBRIA IN MATRIX GAMES
Yoon, Tae-Hwan ; Kwon, O-Hun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 377~385
Abstract
In this paper we find a sufficient condition to guarantee the existence of pure-strategy equilibria in matrix games. In the process of formulating our condition, the alternative theorem of Farkas is used. The formulated condition is necessary and sufficient to the existence of pure-strategy equilibria in undominated matrix games.

FUZZY SEMIREGULARIZATION SPACES
Kim, Yong-Chan ; Park, Jin-Won ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 387~400
Abstract
We introduce the fuzzy semiregularization space induced by a fuzzy topological space and investigate some properties of fuzzy semiregularization spaces. We give an example of a fuzzy semiregularization space that is not a fuzzy semiregular space.

ON DOUBLY STOCHASTIC
MATRICES AND REGULAR MATRICES
Pyo, Sung-Soo ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 2, 2000, Pages 401~409
Abstract
In this paper, we determine the structure of
elements and regular elements of the semigroup
of doubly stochastic matrices of order n. In connection with this, we find the structure of the matrices X satisfying the equation AXA = A. From these, we determine a condition of a doubly stochastic matrix A whose Moore-Penrose generalized is also a doubly stochastic matrix.
