ACYCLIC DIGRAPHS WHOSE 2-STEP COMPETITION GRAPHS ARE P
Cho, Han-Hyun ; Kim, Suh-Ryung ; Nam, Yunsun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 649~657
Abstract
The 2-step competition graph of D has the same vertex set as D and an edge between vertices x and y if and only if there exist (x, z)-walk of length 2 and (y, z)-walk of length 2 for some vertex z in D. The 2-step competition number of a graph G is the smallest number k such that G together with k isolated vertices is the 2-step competition graph of an acyclic digraph. Cho, et al. showed that the 2-step competition number of a path of length at least two is two. In this paper, we characterize all the minimal acyclic digraphs whose 2-step competition graphs are paths of length n with two isolated vertices and construct all such digraphs.

Choi, Q-Heung ; Jin, Zheng-Guo ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 697~710
Abstract
We investigate the existence of solutions of the nonlinear heat equation under Dirichlet boundary conditions on
and periodic condition on the variable t,
+g(u)=f(x, t). We also investigate a relation between multiplicity of solutions and the source terms of the equation.

FIXED POINTS OF A CERTAIN CLASS OF ASYMPTOTICALLY REGULAR MAPPINGS
Jung, Jong-Soo ; Thakur, Balwant-Singh ; Sahu, Daya-Ram ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 729~741
Abstract
In this paper, we study in Banach spaces the existence of fixed points of asymptotically regular mapping T satisfying: for each x, y in the domain and for n=1, 2,…, $$\parallelT^nx-T^ny\parallel\leq
a_n\parallelx-y\parallel+b_n (\parallelx-T^nx\parallel+\parallely-T^ny\parallely)$$ where
are nonnegative constants satisfying certain conditions. We also establish some fixed point theorems for these mappings in a Hibert space, in L(sup)p spaces, in Hardy space H(sup)p, and in Soboleve space $H^{k,p} for 1<\rho<\infty \; and \; k\geq0$. We extend results from papers [10], [11], and others.

Lee, Mun-Bae ; Park, Sung-Ho ; Rhee, Hyang-Joo ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 743~753
Abstract
In the space
of real-valued continuous functions with
, every bounded set has a relative Chebyshev center in a finite-dimensional subspace S. Moreover, the set function
corresponding to F the set of its relative Chebyshev centers, in continuous on the space B[
(X)] of nonempty bounded subsets of
(X) with the Hausdorff metric. In particular, every bounded set has a relative Chebyshev center in the closed convex set S(F) of S and the set function
(F) is continuous on B[
(X)] with a condition that the sets S(.) are equal.

STABILITY THEOREMS OF THE OPERATOR-VALUED FUNCTION SPACE INTEGRAL ON
Ryu, K.-S ; Yoo, S.-C ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 791~802
Abstract
In 1968, Cameron and Storvick introduce the definition and the theories of the operator-valued function space integral. Since then, the stability theorems of the integral was developed by Johnson, Skoug, Chang etc [1, 2, 4, 5]. Recently, the authors establish the existence theorem of the operator-valued function space [8]. In this paper, we will prove the stability theorems of the operator-valued function space integral over paths in abstract Wiener space

COUNTING FORMULA FOR SOLUTIONS OF DIAGONAL EQUATIONS
Moon, Young-Gu ; Lee, June-Bok ; Park, Young-Ho ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 803~810
Abstract
Let N(
) be the number of solutions
of the diagonal equation
where $d_j{\;}>{\;}1{\;}and{\;}d_j{\;}
{\;}q{\;}-{\;}1$ for all j = 1,2,..., n. In this paper, we find all n-tuples (
) such that the reduced form of (
) and N(
) are the same as in the theorem obtained by Sun Qi [3]. Improving this, we also get an explicit formula for the number of solutions of the diagonal equation, unver a certain natural restriction on the exponents.

CONJUGACY SEPARABILITY OF CERTAIN FREE PRODUCT AMALGAMATING RETRACTS
Kim, Goan-Su ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 811~827
Abstract
We find some conditions to derive the conjugacy separability of the free product of conjugacy separable split extensions amalgamated along cyclic retracts. These conditions hold for any double coset separable groups and free-by-cyclic groups with nontrivial center. It was known that free-by-finite, polycyclic-by-finite, and fuchsian groups are double coset separable. Hence free products of those groups amalgamated along cyclic retracts are conjugacy separable.

Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 829~841
Abstract
We classify complete intersections I of grade 3 in a regular local ring (R, M) by the number of minimal generators of a minimal prime ideal P over I. Here P is either a complete intersection or a Gorenstein ideal which is not a compete intersection.

NERON SYMBOL ON
TORUS
Sim, Kyung-Ah ; Woo, Sung-Sik ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 37, issue 4, 2000, Pages 843~854
Abstract
S. Turner has shown that a Neron symbol can be calculated from the values of K-meromorphic theta functions corresponding to divisors on K-holomorphic torus of strongly diagonal type. Using an isogeny to a K-holomorphic torus of strongly diagonal type, he constructed a Neron symbol on K-holomorphic torus of diagonal type. In this work, we provide a simple formula of the Neron symbol on the Tate curve. And then we construct the Neron symbol on K-holomorphic torus of diagonal or st rongly diagonal type without using isogenies.
