A NOTE ON VALUE DISTRIBUTION OF COMPOSITE ENTIRE FUNCTIONS
Lahiri, Indrajit ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 1~6
Abstract
We discuss the value distribution of composite entire functions including those of infinite order and estimate the number of Q-points of such functions for an entire function Q or relatively slower growth.

BOCHNER-SCHWARTZ THEOREM ON LOCALLY COMPACT ABELIAN GROUPS
Kim, Jin-Man ; Cho, Jong-Gyu ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 7~16
Abstract
We study the Fourier transformation on the Gelfand-Bruhat space of type S and characterize this space by means of Fourier transform on a locally compact abelian group G. Also, we extend Bochner-Schwartz theorem to the dual space of the Gelfand-Bruhat space and the space of Fourier hyperfunctions on G. respectively.

PRECONDITIONING
-QUADRATIC SPLINE COLLOCATION METHOD OF ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS BY FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD
Woo, Gyung-Soo ; Kim, Seok-Chan ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 17~27
Abstract
We discuss a finite difference preconditioner for the
Lagrance quadratic spline collocation method for a uniformly elliptic operator with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. Using the generalized field of values argument, we analyzed eigenvalues of the matrix preconditioned by the matrix corresponding to a finite difference operator with zero boundary condition.

ADAPTIVE STABILIZATION OF NON NECESSARILY INVERSELY STABLE CONTINUOUS-TIME SYSTEMS BY USING ESTIMATION MODIFICATION WITHOUT USING HYSTERESIS FUNCTION
Sen, M.De La ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 29~53
Abstract
This note presents a an indirect adaptive control scheme for first-order continuous-time systems. The estimated plant model is controllable and then the adaptive scheme is free from singularities. The singularities are avoided through a modification of the estimated plant parameter vector so that its associated Sylvester matrix is guaranteed to be nonsingular. That properties is achieved by ensuring that the absolute value of its determinant does not lie below a positive threshold. A modification scheme based on the achievement of a modified diagonally dominant Sylvester matrix of the parameter estimates is also given as an alternative method. This diagonal dominance is achieved through estimates modification as a way to guarantee the controllability of the modified estimated model when a controllability measure of the ‘a priori’ estimated model fails. In both schemes, the use of a hysteresis switching function for the modification of the estimates is not required to ensure the nonsingularity of the Sylvester matrix of the estimates.

Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 55~63
Abstract
In this paper, we derive a general strong law of large numbers and a general weak law of large number for normed weighted sums of pairwise negative quadrant dependent random variables with the common distribution function.

Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 65~69
Abstract
For any closed subspace X of $\ell_p, \; 1<\kappa<\infty$, K(X) is proximinal in L(X), and if X is a Banach space with an unconditional shrinking basis, then K(X, c
) is proximinal in L(X,
).

Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 71~79
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to prove new equilibrium existence theorems of social systems with coordination under general conditions on the preference correspondence in locally convex spaces, and we also give an example which the previous existence results on SSC do not work but our theorem can be applied.

Choi, Sung-Kyu ; Koo, Nam-Jip ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 101~111
Abstract
We investigate the property of h-stability, which is an important extension of the notions of exponential stability and uniform Lipschitz stability in variation for nonlinear Volterra difference systems.

Kim, In-Sook ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 113~120
Abstract
Using the notions of admissibility, local convexity and measure of noncompactness, we give new fixed point theorems for quasicompact or condensing multivalued mappings with domains that are not necessarily convex subsets of an arbitrary topological vector space.

ESTIMATES IN EXIT PROBABILITY FOR SOLUTIONS OF NUCLEAR SPACE-VALUED SDE
Cho, Nhan-Sook ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 129~136
Abstract
We consider a solution process of stochastic differential equation(SDE) driven by S'(
)-valued Wiener process and study a large deviation type of estimates for the process. We get an upper bound in exit probability for such a process to leave a ball of radius
before a finite time t. We apply the Ito formula to the SDE under the structure of nuclear space.

A STUDY ON ANNIHILATOR CONDITIONS OF POLYNOMIALS
Cho, Yong-Uk ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 137~142
Abstract
In this paper, we initiate the study of some annihilator conditions on polynomials which were used by Kaplansky [4] to abstract algebras of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert spaces with Baer condition. On the other hand, p.p. rings were introduced by A. Hattori [3] to study the torsion theory. The purpose of this paper is to introduce near-rings with Baer condition and near-rings with p.p. condition which are somewhat different from the ring case, and to extend a results of Armendarz [1] to polynomial near-rings with Baer condition in somewhat different way of Birkenmeier and Huang [2].

Lee, Hyang-Sook ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 143~148
Abstract
First, we show the finiteness property of the homotopy fixed point set of p-discrete toral group. Let
be a p-discrete toral group and X be a finite complex with an action of
is nilpotent for each finit p-subgroup K of
. Assume X is
. Then X(sup)hG
is F(sub)p-finite. Using this result, we give the condition so that X
is
toral group G.

A STUDY ON ADDITIVE ENDOMORPHISMS OF RINGS
Cho, Yong-Uk ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 149~156
Abstract
In this paper, we initiate the investigation of ring in which all the additive endomorphisms are generated by ring endomorphisms (AGE-rings). This study was motivated by the work on the Sullivan’s Research Problem [11]: Characterize those rings in which every additive endomorphism is a ring endomorphism (AE-rings). The purpose of this paper is to obtain a certain characterization of AGE-rings, and investigate some relations between AGE and LSD-generated rings.

ALMOST REGULAR OPERATORS ARE REGULAR
Bermudez, Teresa ; Gonzalez, Manuel ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 1, 2001, Pages 205~210
Abstract
We give a characterization of regular operators that allows us to prove that a bounded operator acting between Banach spaces is almost regular if and only if it is regular, solving an open problem in [5]. As an application, we show that some operators in the closure of the set of all regular operators are regular.
