COMPARISON OF
THETA FUNCTIONS
Sung Sik Woo ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 427~434
Abstract
In this paper we investigate how $\rho-adic\;\theta
-function$ of Neron and Tate are related. As a result, we show that the
theta function defined by Neron and that defined by Tate are differ by an analytic function whose values are units.

Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to show the following: Let d and g be (continuous or discontinuous) linear derivations on a Banach algebra A over a complex field C such that
is a linear Jordan derivation for some
. Then the product dg maps A into the Jacobson radical of A.

Lee, Sang-Youl ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 475~486
Abstract
In this paper we give a relationship among the Minkowski units, for all odd prime number including

, its factor knot, and the 2-component link consisting of the factor knot and the set of fixed points of the periodic action.

STRICT STATIONARITY AND FUNCTIONAL CENTRAL LIMIT THEOREM FOR ARCH/GRACH MODELS
Lee, Oe-Sook ; Kim, Ji-Hyun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 495~504
Abstract
In this paper we consider the (generalized) autoregressive model with conditional heteroscedasticity (ARCH/GARCH models). We willing give conditions under which strict stationarity, ergodicity and the functional central limit theorem hold for the corresponding models.

Park, Jong-Yeoul ; Jung, Il-Hyo ; Kang, Yong-Han ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 505~516
Abstract
We show the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the Cauchy problem for nonlinear evolution equations with the strong damping:
. As an application, a Kirchhoff model with viscosity is given.

CONTINUOUS MULTISCALE ANALYSIS ON THE HEISENBERG GROUP
He, Jianxun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 517~526
Abstract
In this paper, we study the continuous wavelet transform on the Heisenberg group H
, and describe the related continuous multiscale analysis. By using the wavelet packet transform we obtain a reconstruction formula on L
(H
).

Yoon, Suk-Bong ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 527~541
Abstract
We find the necessary and sufficient conditions for the smash product algebra structure and the crossed coproduct coalgebra structure with th dual cocycle
to afford a Hopf algebra (A equation,※See Full-text). If B and H are finite algebra and Hopf algebra, respectively, then the linear dual (※See Full-text) is also a Hopf algebra. We show that the weak coaction admissible mapping system characterizes the new Hopf algebras (※See Full-text).

CHARACTERIZATIONS OF A KRULL RING R[X]
Chang, Gyu-Whan ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 543~549
Abstract
We show that R[X] is a Krull (Resp. factorial) ring if and only if R is a normal Krull (resp, factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals if and only if R is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring with a finite number of minimal prime ideals and R(sub)M is an integral domain for every maximal ideal M of R. As a corollary, we have that if R[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring and if D is a Krull (resp. factorial) overring of R, then D[X] is a Krull (resp. factorial) ring.

4-DIMENSIONAL CRITICAL WEYL STRUCTURES
Kim, Jong-Su ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 551~564
Abstract
We view Weyl structures as generalizations of Riemannian metrics and study the critical points of geometric functional which involve scalar curvature, defined on the space of Weyl structures on a closed 4-manifold. The main goal here is to provide a framework to analyze critical Weyl structures by defining functionals, discussing function spaces and writing down basic formulas for the equations of critical points.

NEW MAXIMUM THEOREMS WITH STRICT QUASI-CONCAVITY
Kim, Won-Kyu ; Yoon, Ju-Han ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 565~573
Abstract
In this paper, we first rove the strict quasi-concavity of maximizing function, and next prove a new maximum theorem using Fan’s generalization of the classical KKM theorem. Also an existence theorem of social equilibrium can be proved when an additional assumption on the constraint correspondence is assumed. Finally, we give illustrative two examples of constrained optimization problems.

IDENTICALLY DISTRIBUTED UNCORRELATED RANDOM VARIABLES NOT FULFILLING THE WLLN
Landers, Dieter ; Rogge, Lothar ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 605~610
Abstract
It is shown that for each 1 < p < 2 there exist identically distributed uncorrelated random variables $X_n\; with\;E({
X_1
}^p)\;<\;{\infty}$, not fulfilling the weak law of large numbers (WLLN). If, however, the random variables are moreover non-negative, the weaker integrability condition $E(X_1\;log\;X_1)\;<\;{\infty}$ already guarantees the strong law of large numbers.

ITERATION PROCESSES OF ASYMPTOTICALLY PSEUDO-CONTRACTIVE MAPPINGS IN BANACH SPACES
Park, Jong-Yeoul ; Jeong, Jae-Ug ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 38, issue 3, 2001, Pages 611~622
Abstract
Some convergence theorems of modified Ishikawa and Mann iteration processes with errors for asymptotically pseudo-contractive and asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces are obtained. The results presented in this paper improve and extend the corresponding results in Liu [7] and Schu [10].
