ON NCI RINGS
Hwang, Seo-Un ; Jeon, Young-Cheol ; Park, Kwang-Sug ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 215~223
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.215
Abstract
We in this note introduce the concept of NCI rings which is a generalization of NI rings. We study the basic structure of NCI rings, concentrating rings of bounded index of nilpotency and von Neumann regular rings. We also construct suitable examples to the situations raised naturally in the process.

Park, Sang-Won ; Jeong, Jin-Sun ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 225~231
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.225
Abstract
Given an injective envelope E of a left R-module M, there is an associative Galois group Gal
. Let R be a left noetherian ring and E be an injective envelope of M, then there is an injective envelope
of an inverse polynomial module
as a left R[x]-module and we can define an associative Galois group Gal
. In this paper we describe the relations between Gal
and Gal
. Then we extend the Galois group of inverse polynomial module and can get Gal
, where S is a submonoid of
(the set of all natural numbers).

Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 247~257
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.247
Abstract
Consider the heteroscedastic regression model
, where
, the design points
are known and nonrandom, and g and f are unknown functions defined on closed interval [0, 1]. Under the random errors
form a sequence of NA random variables, we study the asymptotic normality of wavelet estimators of g when f is a known or unknown function.

SOME POPULAR WAVELET DISTRIBUTION
Nadarajah, Saralees ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 265~270
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.265
Abstract
The modern approach for wavelets imposes a Bayesian prior model on the wavelet coefficients to capture the sparseness of the wavelet expansion. The idea is to build flexible probability models for the marginal posterior densities of the wavelet coefficients. In this note, we derive exact expressions for a popular model for the marginal posterior density.

ADDITIVITY OF LIE MAPS ON OPERATOR ALGEBRAS
Qian, Jia ; Li, Pengtong ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 271~279
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.271
Abstract
Let A standard operator algebra which does not contain the identity operator, acting on a Hilbert space of dimension greater than one. If
is a bijective Lie map from A onto an arbitrary algebra, that is
(AB-BA)=
for all A, B
A, then
is additive. Also, if A contains the identity operator, then there exists a bijective Lie map of A which is not additive.

Kang, Si-Ho ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 281~290
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.281
Abstract
We deal with Bergman functions defined on the half-plane. We study integral operators, and some relationship between Berezin transforms and Toeplitz operators, and also show that some Berezin transforms are Mobius invariant.

Vijayabalaji, Srinivasan ; Thillaigovindan, Natesan ; Jun, Young-Bae ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 291~308
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.291
Abstract
The motivation of this paper is to present a new and interesting notion of intuitionistic fuzzy n-normed linear space. Cauchy sequence and convergent sequence in intuitionistic fuzzy n-normed linear space are introduced and we provide some results onit. Furthermore we introduce generalized cartesian product of the intuitionistic fuzzy n-normed linear space and establish some of its properties.

DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.315

In this paper, some hybrid fixed point theorems are proved which are further applied to first and second order neutral functional differential equations for proving the existence results for the extremal solutions under the mixed Lipschitz, compactness and monotonic conditions.

NESTING POLYNOMIALS IN INFINITE RADICALS
Humphries, Peter J. ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 331~336
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.331
Abstract
We consider infinite nested radicals in which the arguments are positive polynomial sequences. It is shown that the evaluation of such a nesting is always finite, and we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for the evaluation to be a finite polynomial.

Choi, So-Young ; Koo, Ja-Kyung ;
Bulletin of the Korean Mathematical Society, volume 44, issue 2, 2007, Pages 379~383
DOI : 10.4134/BKMS.2007.44.2.379
Abstract
We show that the modular equation
(X, Y) for the Thompson series
corresponding to
(n) gives an affine model of the modular curve
(mn) which has better properties than the one derived from the modular j invariant. Here, m and n are relative prime. As an application, we construct a ring class field over an imaginary quadratic field K by singular values of
(mz).
