Abstract
We prove a common fixed point theorem for S-contraction mappings without continuity. Using this result we obtain an approximating curve for S-nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space and prove Browder's type strong convergence theorem for this approximating curve. The demiclosedness principle for S-nonexpansive mappings is also established.

Abstract
We consider a degeneration of genus 2 curves, which is opposite to maximal degeneration in a sense. Such a degeneration of curves yields a variation of mixed Hodge structure with monodromy weight filtration. The mixed Hodge structure at each fibre, which is different from the limit mixed Hodge structure of Schmid and Steenbrink, can be realized as
of a noncompact singular elliptic curve. We also prove that the pull back of the above variation of mixed Hodge structure to a double cover of the base space comes from a family of noncompact singular elliptic curves.

Abstract
In this paper, the concept of maximal ideals relative to a filter on posets is introduced and examined. An intrinsic characterization of distributive lattices is obtained. In addition, we also give a characterization of pseudo primes in semicontinuous lattices and a characterization of semicontinuous lattices. Functions of semicontinuous lattices which are order preserving and semicontinuous are studied. A new concept of semiarithmetic lattices is introduced and examined.
