of total energy supply in 2030. In the long run, the EU drives expansion policy of the renewable energy. If related policies and programs will show successful operation in the near future and will be resulted in increase of budget, we could expect the possibility of expansion of renewable energy market in Korea in the future.
Analysis of CDMA System Performance Using Weighted Value of Array Antenna

Interference occurs by signals received from directions that were different from the signals of the users in a mobile communication system. Various studies have been undertaken, including diversity, equalizer, etc., in order to reduce interference. In this study, the weighted value of the array antenna was obtained to improve signal-to-noise ratio. The weighted value was obtained as an eigen value and an eigen vector by using the correlation coefficient of the signal. The weighted value obtained was then applied to the CDMA system to increase system performance and capacity. Both QPSK and OQPSK modulation systems were applied to analyze performance.
Complexity Reduction for Space-Time Block Codes Decoder in MIMO OFDM Systems

In this work, we first present our study on the decoding schemes for space-time block code as well as our comments on their complexity. Then, we propose a new modified complex sphere decoding scheme, which has lower computational load than that of conventional complex sphere decoders. In the proposed scheme, the boundary for searching is aided with the intersection of approximate polygon of searching circle and disk of constellation. Therefore, the proposed scheme can reduce the searching boundary while can avoid missing searching points. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation that consolidates our scheme.
Simplified Maximum-Likelihood Decoder for V-BLAST Architecture

In this paper, a low-complexity maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder based on QR decomposition, called real-valued LCMLDec decoder or RVLCMLDec for short, is proposed for the Vertical Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) architecture, a promising candidate for providing high data rates in future fixed wireless communication systems . Computer simulations, in comparison with other detection techniques, show that the proposed decoder is capable of providing the VBLAST schemes with ML performance at low detection complexity
GML Based Tourism Information System for Location Based Service

At present, GML becomes the global standard for the XML encoding of geographic information and is the foundation for the Geo-Web. GML is being applied to a wide range of geographic applications including GIS and location-based services, telematics and intelligent transportation systems. In this paper, we propose the tourism information system for supporting the location based service application. We made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web mapping service. We are interested in the GML applications that include traditional GIS system for navigation service and location finder for points of interest (POI) services. This paper summarizes the Tourism information system for location based service of a small area (Han-Ok Village with the Korean traditional houses in Jeonju-city), in which moving travelers can obtain proper information services at the current location associated with traditional monuments, cultural products, food, and conveniences. In the paper, we report on the design of the thin client/server system for a mobile environment. This paper is divided into three parts. First, we give a general overview of the organization of the system and of the important concerns of our design. Second we focus on our system supports for location and POI determination, and design concerns. Finally, we show the graphic user interface of PDA, the procedures involved in the service, and the executed results.
Development of Simulator with Cluster System for Towing Fisheries

Goal of this study is to implement 3-dimensional underwater appearance graphical display, fishery measured information display, sonar data representation and display, and 3-dimensional underwater appearance animation based on coefficient data of chaos behavior and fishing modeling of fishing gears from PC cluster system. In order to accomplish the goals of this study, it is essential to compose user interfacing and realistic description of image scenes in the towing-net fishery simulator, and techniques to describe sand cloud effects under water using particle systems are necessary. In this study, we implemented graphical representations and animations of the simulator by using OpenGL together with C routines.
A Study on Traffic Distribution Processing using the Round Robin Monitoring System

As the result of the study shows, Round Robin Algorithm allows servers to ensure definite traffic distribution, unless incoming data loads differ much. Although error levels are high in some cases, they were eventually alleviated by repeated tests for a long period of time. The study uses two software packages (Packet Capture and Round Robin Test Package) to check packet volume from Virtual Network Structure (data generator, virtual server, Server 1, 2, 3), and finds out traffic distribution toward Server 1, 2, and 3. The functions of implemented Round Robin Load Balancing Monitoring System include round robin testing, system monitoring, and graphical indication of data transmission and packet volume.
Web Server Cluster's Load Balancing for Security Session

In order to create security session, security keys are preconfigured between communication objects. For this purpose, Handshake Protocol exists. The pre-master secret key that is used in this process needs to interpreted by a server to create master secret key, whose process requires a big calculation, resulting in deteriorating system's transmission performance. Therefore, it is helpful in increasing transmission speed to reuse secret keys rather than to create them at every connection.
Implementation of Remote Adapter for Debugging of Ubiquitous Embedded Software

Since ubiquitous embedded software is sensitive to the resources and environment of target system, it should be debugged in the same environment as actual target system. However, existing tools to debug embedded software, in which access to internal signal or resources is limited, are uneconomical. In the thesis, economical and practical USB-JTAG Adapter that can use open GDB is suggested. It can remove existing limitations of environment implementation that have many difficulties in implementing an environment for remote debugging. Hence, the thesis provides economical interfacing environment that can debug ubiquitous embedded software inside remote system.
Comparative Analysis of a Competitive Technology for Major Future Energy Resources

Recently advanced countries are making every effort to promote the efficiency of electric power production and supply, to deal with the environmental problems, and to develop the new energy. In particular, they are driving forward to develop various technologies for electric power in mid-long term, that are technology for building infrastructure of power transportation, establishing service network for account management using electronic technologies, elevating economic productivity by innovative electronic technologies, control-ling the discharge of global warming gas, using clean efficient energy, and so forth. However, power technology of Korea lagged behind than technology of advanced countries. Also, resources for developing power technology are limited in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of R&D investment. For it, our country must compare and analyze with technologies of advanced countries which are taking competitive advantage in the main future energy. Through comparative analysis, limited R&D resources of our country must be concentrated on technologies that can secure competitive advantage from now on.
Winding Fault Diagnosis of Induction Motor Using Neural Network

This paper proposed a fault diagnosis technique of induction motors winding fault based on an artificial neural network (ANN). This method used Park's vector pattern as input data of ANN. The ANN are firstly learned using this pattern, and then classify between 'healthy' and 'winding fault' (with 2, 10, and 20 shorted turn) induction motor under 0, 50, and
load condition. Also the possibility of classification of untrained turn-fault and load condition are tested. The proposed method has been experimentally tested on a 3-phase, 1 HP squirrel-cage induction motor. The obtained results provided a high level of accuracy especially in small turn fault, and showed that it is a reliable method for industrial application
Center Position Tracking Enhancement of Eyes and Iris on the Facial Image

An enhancement of tracking capacity for the centering position of eye and iris on the facial image is presented. A facial image is acquisitioned with a CCD camera to be converted into a binary image. The eye region to be a specified brightness and shapes is used the FRM method using the neighboring five mask areas, and the iris on the eye is tracked with FPDP method. The experimental result shows that the proposed methods lead the centering position tracking capability to be enhanced than the pixel average coordinate values method.
