On the Cauchy Problem for Some Parabolic Partial Differential Equations with Time Delays
El-Borai, Mahmoudm ; Asaad, Farouk K. ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 1~1
Abstract
The Cauchy problem for some parabolic partial differential equations of higher orders and with time delays is considered. The existence and uniqueness theorems of this problem is studied. Some smoothness properties with respect to the parameters of these delay partial differential equations are considered.

Sturm-Liouville Equation of Fractional Order
El-Sayed, A.M.A. ; Gaafar, F.M. ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 9~9
Abstract
In this work we define the Sturm-Liouville equation of fractional order and prove the continuation of it to the usual Sturm-Liouville equation. We study the initial value problem of the Sturm-Liouville equation of fractional order, and prove some properties of the solution. As an application we consider two eigenvalue problems of fractional differential operator.

Meenakshi, Ar. ; Indira, R. ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 67~67
Abstract
In this paper characterization of conjugate EP(con-EP) matrices or range symmetric matrices are given and the condition for the existence of the group inverse of a con-EP matrix are determined. The relation between con-EP and congruence normality of matrices are studied.

Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 83~83
Abstract
Let F be a Galois field positive integer and
. The set

. Here cyclically invariant

Commutativity in Rings with Unity and its Generalizations
Giri, R. D. ; Tiwari, Shraddha ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 99~99
Abstract
In this paper we have proved three theorems for commutativity of rings, one for a ring with unity and the another two for left s-unital and right s-unital rings respectively. For these theorems we consider the identities
and
such that for every x, y in R, there exists
with
and m, n, p are non-negative integers depending on x. In the end we give counter examples to show that the conditions taken to prove our theorems are essential.

Using a Set to Construct a Group Topology
Clay, Ellen ; Clark, Bradd ; Schneider, Victor ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 113~113
Abstract
The usual topology on the real line can be constructed in a natural fashion from the set
. It along with its opposite set
and translates of these sets forms a subbasis for the usual topology. Hence the coarsets group topology on the reals containing the set
is the usual topology. Many group topologies can be generated in this fashion. This paper will consider which group topologies can be generated in this fashion and which sets may be used to generate the topology.

On Locally Sierpinski Spaces
Rostami, M. ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 117~117
Abstract
A topological space is called locally Sierpinski space if every point has a neighbourhood homeomorphic to a Sierpinski space. In this note we discuss some properties of locally Sierpinski spaces, and prove that these spaces are Katetov
spaces. We also consider the product of these spaces and introduce a new space.

Order-Separating Biframes for Ordered Topological Spaces
Choe, Tae-Ho ; Chae, Yun-Ki ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 135~135
Abstract
In [3] the concept of biframe has been introduced. The dual adjoint
U between bitopological spaces and biframes has been established, and the largest duality in the adjoint is completely determined. In [6], the dual adjoint S
C between convex ordered topological spaces and biframes is also established and largest duality in this adjoint is determined. As a characterized theorem, the compact ordered spaces correspond precisely to order-separating compact regular biframes. In this paper, the compactification of biframes and the compactification of bispaces are investigated. Another aim of this note is to provide an alternative construction of compactifications for order-separating biframes by the use of strong inclusions. Finally we review that convex ordered topological spaces and consistent bispaces are equivalent.

Fredholm-Regularity of Floer's Holomorphic Trajectories on
Manifolds
Oh, Yong-Geun ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 37, issue 1, 1997, Pages 153~153
Abstract
We prove that any solution of the following Floer's J-holomorphic trajectory equation for the map
,
$$u({\tau},\;1)\;{\subset}\;L_1\;and\;\int|{\nabla}u|^2\;<\;{\infty}$$. is always Fredholm-regular, i.e, its linearization is surjective, provided (M,
, J) is a
manifold with non-negative holomorphic bisectional curvature and
are two compact totally geodesic Lagrangian submanifolds that intersect transversely. This clarifies some ad-hoc Fredholm-regularity result proven before by the author in relation to the Arnol'd conjecture and the Floer homology for the real forms of compact Hermitian symmetric spaces.
