Large Hydromagnetic Axisymmetric Instability of a Streaming Gas Cylinder Surrounded by Bounded Fluid with Non Uniform Field
Radwan, Ahmed Elazab ; Elogail, Mostafa Abdelrahman ; Elazab, Nasser Elsaid ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 455~471
The magnetohydrodynamic axisymmetric instability of a streaming gas jet surrounded by bounded fluid with non-uniform field has been developed. The problem is formulated, solved and the boundary conditions are applied across the interfaces. The eigenvalue relation is derived and discussed analytically and the results are confirmed numerically. Some reported works are recovered as limiting cases from the present general results. The streaming has a destabilizing effect for all short and long wavelengths. The capillary force is stabilizing for short wavelengths but it is destabilizing for long wavelengths. The axial magnetic fields interior the gas and fluid media are stabilizing. The transverse field is destabilizing for all wavelengths. The radii ratio of the gas and fluid cylinders plays an important role for stabilizing the model and made it more realistic one than the full liquid jet or/and the ordinary hollow jet. The numerical analysis clarify the stable and unstable domains based on different values of the various parameters of the problem.
One-sided Prime Ideals in Semirings
Shabir, Muhammad ; Iqbal, Muhammad Sohail ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 473~480
In this paper we define prime right ideals of semirings and prove that if every right ideal of a semiring R is prime then R is weakly regular. We also prove that if the set of right ideals of R is totally ordered then every right ideal of R is prime if and only if R is right weakly regular. Moreover in this paper we also define prime subsemimodule (generalizing the concept of prime right ideals) of an R-semimodule. We prove that if a subsemimodule K of an R-semimodule M is prime then
is also a prime ideal of R.
The Cauchy Representation of Integrable and Tempered Boehmians
Loonker, Deshna ; Banerji, Pradeep Kumar ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 481~493
This paper deals with, by employing the relation between Cauchy representation and the Fourier transform and properties of the former in
-space, the investigation of the Cauchy representation of integrable Boehmians as a natural extension of tempered distributions, we have investigated Cauchy representation of tempered Boehmians. An inversion formula is also proved.
Fractional Derivative Associated with the Multivariable Polynomials
Chaurasia, Vinod Bihari Lal ; Shekhawat, Ashok Singh ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 495~500
The aim of this paper is to derive a fractional derivative of the multivariable H-function of Srivastava and Panda , associated with a general class of multivariable polynomials of Srivastava and the generalized Lauricella functions of Srivastava and Daoust . Certain special cases have also been discussed. The results derived here are of a very general nature and hence encompass several cases of interest hitherto scattered in the literature.
Multiple Weakly Summing Multilinear Mappings and Polynomials
Kim, Sung Guen ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 501~517
In this paper, we introduce and study a new class containing absolutely summing multilinear mappings and polynomials, which we call multiple weakly summing multilinear mappings and polynomials. We investigate some interesting properties about multiple weakly (
)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials defined on Banach spaces: In particular, we prove a kind of Dvoretzky-Rogers' Theorem and an ideal property for multiple weakly (
)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials. We also prove that the Aron-Berner extensions of multiple weakly (
)-summing multilinear mappings and polynomials are also multiple weakly (
A Study of Modified H-transform and Fractional Integral Operator
Gupta, Kantesh ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 519~527
In this paper, we establish a theorem wherein we have obtained the image of modified H-transform under the fractional integral operator involving Foxs H-function. Three corollaries of this theorem have also been derived. Further, we obtain one interesting integral by the application of the third corollary. The importance of above findings lies in the fact that our main theorem involves Fox H-function which is very general in nature. The result obtained earlier by Tariq (1998) is a special case of our main findings.
A New Approach for the Derivation of a Discrete Approximation Formula on Uniform Grid for Harmonic Functions
Kim, Philsu ; Choi, Hyun Jung ; Ahn, Soyoung ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 529~548
The purpose of this article is to find a relation between the finite difference method and the boundary element method, and propose a new approach deriving a discrete approximation formula as like that of the finite difference method for harmonic functions. We develop a discrete approximation formula on a uniform grid based on the boundary integral formulations. We consider three different boundary integral formulations and derive one discrete approximation formula on the uniform grid for the harmonic function. We show that the proposed discrete approximation formula has the same computational molecules with that of the finite difference formula for the Laplace operator

Selvaraj, Chelliah ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 549~568
In this paper we obtain a decomposition of certain factors of the signed Brauer algebra into a direct sum of simple algebras and we obtain the structure of the factor algebra.
Prior Estimates and Solutions of Boundary Value Problems for Higher-Order Nonlinear Finite Difference Equations
Liu, Yuji ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 569~578
Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution of boundary value problems for higher order nonlinear difference equations are established. We allow
to be at most linear, superlinear or sublinear in obtained results.
Classification of Ruled Surfaces with Non-degenerate Second Fundamental Forms in Lorentz-Minkowski 3-Spaces
Jung, Sunmi ; Kim, Young Ho ; Yoon, Dae Won ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 579~593
In this paper, we study some properties of ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space related to their Gaussian curvature, the second Gaussian curvature and the mean curvature. Furthermore, we examine the ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space satisfying the Jacobi condition formed with those curvatures, which are called the II-W and the II-G ruled surfaces and give a classification of such ruled surfaces in a three-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space.
Sagae-Tanabe Weighted Means and Reverse Inequalities
Ahn, Eunkyung ; Kim, Sejung ; Lee, Hosoo ; Lim, Yongdo ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 595~600
In this paper we consider weighted arithmetic and geometric means of several positive definite operators proposed by Sagae and Tanabe and we establish a reverse inequality of the arithmetic and geometric means via Specht ratio and the Thompson metric on the convex cone of positive definite operators.
A Discrete Model of Brucellosis Happened in Korean Livestock Farms
Park, Junpyo ; Kim, Byul Nim ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 47, issue 4, 2007, Pages 601~608
In this paper we introduce a discrete model of brucellosis happened in Korean livestock farms and numerically analyze its dynamical features. To do it, we consider parameters data supported by Livestock Cooperatives. To control brucellosis, we investigate the relationship among key parameters, as applications of our model. We hope that our model may be used to reduce brucellosis in Korean livestock farms.
