Block LU Factorization for the Coupled Stokes Equations by Spectral Element Discretization
Piao, Xiangfan ; Kim, Philsu ; Kim, Sang Dong ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 359~373
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.359
Abstract
The block LU factorization is used to solve the coupled Stokes equations arisen from an optimal control problem subject to Stokes equations. The convergence of the spectral element solution is proved. Some numerical evidences are provided for the model coupled Stokes equations. Moreover, as an application, this algorithm is performed for an optimal control problem.

Daddi, Vanita Rohit ; Pawar, Yashashree Shivajirao ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 375~381
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.375
Abstract
We introduce the concepts of ordered quasi-ideals, ordered bi-ideals in an ordered ternary semigroup and study their properties. Also regular ordered ternary semigroup is defined and several ideal-theoretical characterizations of the regular ordered ternary semigroups are furnished.

Numerical Inversion Technique for the One and Two-Dimensional L
_{2}
-Transform Using the Fourier Series and Its Application to Fractional Partial Differential Equations
Aghili, Arman ; Ansari, Alireza ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 383~395
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.383
Abstract
In this paper, we use a computational algorithm for the inversion of the one and two-dimensional
-transform based on the Bromwich's integral and the Fourier series. The new inversion formula can evaluate the inverse of the
-transform with considerable accuracy over a wide range of values of the independent variable and can be devised for the functions which are not Laplace transformable and have damping motion in small interval near origin.

On Two Dimensional q-Hölder's Inequality
Yang, Wengui ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 397~404
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.397
Abstract
In this article, the reverse q-H
lder type inequality and two dimensional q-H
lder's inequality are established. We also obtain some q-integral inequalities by using q-H
lder's inequality which give q-Hardy's inequalities as spacial cases.

Roy, Bishwambhar ; Seny, Ritu ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 405~412
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.405
Abstract
The purpose of the present paper is towards working out a unified version of the study of certain weak forms of generalized open sets and their neighbouring forms, as are already available in the literature. In terms of an operation, as initiated by

r, we introduce unified definitions of
-sets,
-sets,

-sets and derive results concerning them.

Strong Convergence of Modified Iteration Processes for Relatively Weak Nonexpansive Mappings
Boonchari, Daruni ; Saejung, Satit ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 433~441
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.433
Abstract
We adapt the concept of shrinking projection method of Takahashi et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341(2008), 276-286] to the iteration scheme studied by Kim and Lee [Kyungpook Math. J. 48(2008), 685-703] for two relatively weak nonexpansive mappings. By letting one of the two mappings be the identity mapping, we also obtain strong convergence theorems for a single mapping with two types of computational errors. Finally, we improve Kim and Lee's convergence theorem in the sense that the same conclusion still holds without the uniform continuity of mappings as was the case in their result.

Haider, S.M. Khursheed ; Advin, Advin ; Thakur, Mamta ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 443~457
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.443
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce screen slant lightlike submanifold of an indefinite Sasakian manifold and give examples. We prove a characterization theorem for the existence of screen slant lightlike submanifolds. We also obtain integrability conditions of both screen and radical distributions, prove characterization theorems on the existence of minimal screen slant lightlike submanifolds and give an example of proper minimal screen slant lightlike submanifolds of

Dangerous Border-collision Bifurcation for a Piecewise Smooth Nonlinear System
Kang, Hunseok ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 459~472
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.459
Abstract
A piecewise smooth system is characterized by non-differentiability on a curve in the phase space. In this paper, we discuss particular bifurcation phenomena in the dynamics of a piecewise smooth system. We consider a two-dimensional piecewise smooth system which is composed of a linear map and a nonlinear map, and analyze the stability of the system to determine the existence of dangerous border-collision bifurcation. We finally present some numerical examples of the bifurcation phenomena in the system.

Commutative Ideals in BE-algebras
Rezaei, Akbar ; Saeid, Arsham Borumand ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 483~494
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.483
Abstract
In this paper we study properties of commutative BE-algebras and we give the construction of quotient (X/I; *, I) of a commutative BE-algebra X via an obstinate ideal I of X. We construct upper semilattice and prove that is a nearlattice. Finally we define and study commutative ideals in BE-algebras.

Kim, Dongseok ; Kwon, Young Soo ; Lee, Jaeun ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 52, issue 4, 2012, Pages 513~519
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2012.52.4.513
Abstract
For a spanning tree T of a connected graph
and for a labelling
: E(T)
{+,-},
is called an alternating sign on a spanning tree T of a graph
if for any cotree edge
, the unique path in T joining both end vertices of e has alternating signs. In the present article, we prove that any graph has a spanning tree T and an alternating sign on T.
