Waghamore, Harina P. ; Tanuja, A. ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 511~519
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.511
Abstract
In this paper, we prove two uniqueness theorem on meromorphic functions sharing one value which generalize a recent result of R. S. Dyavanal [2], and on the other hand, we relax the nature of sharing value from CM to IM.

DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.521
Abstract
In this paper we derive some optimal convex combination bounds related to arithmetic mean. We find the greatest values
and
and the least values
and
such that the double inequalities
and
holds for all a,b > 0 with
. Here T(a,b), H(a,b), A(a,b) and G(a,b) denote the second Seiffert, harmonic, arithmetic and geometric means of two positive numbers a and b, respectively.

El-Owaidy, Hassan Mostafa ; Ragab, Abdelwahab Abbas ; Eldeeb, Ahmed Abdel-Moneim ; Abuelela, Waleed Mostafa Kamal ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 555~575
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.555
Abstract
In this paper, we establish some new nonlinear integral inequalities of Gronwall-Bellman type. These inequalities generalize some famous inequalities which can be used in applications as handy tools to study the qualitative as well as quantitative properties of solutions of some nonlinear ordinary differential and integral equations. More accurately we extend certain results which have been proved in A. Abdeldaim and M. Yakout [1] and H. El-Owaidy, A. A. Ragab, A. Abdeldaim [7] too.

Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 577~586
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.577
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce two new types of irresolute functions namely completely D-irresolute functions and weakly D-irresolute functions. We obtain their characterizations and their basic properties.

Lim, Jung Wook ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 587~593
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.587
Abstract
Let D be an integral domain with quotient field K,
denote the integral closure of D in K and * be a star-operation on D. In this paper, we study the *-Nagata ring of AP*MDs. More precisely, we show that D is an AP*MD and
is a root extension if and only if the *-Nagata ring
is an AB-domain, if and only if
is an AP-domain. We also prove that D is a P*MD if and only if D is an integrally closed AP*MD, if and only if D is a root closed AP*MD.

Rao, Ravi Srinivasa ; Prasad, Korrapati Siva ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 595~606
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.595
Abstract
In this paper three more right Jacobson-type radicals,
, are introduced for near-rings which generalize the Jacobson radical of rings,
. It is proved that
is a special radical in the class of all near-rings. Unlike the known right Jacobson semisimple near-rings, a
-semisimple near-ring R with DCC on right ideals is a direct sum of minimal right ideals which are right R-groups of type-
,
. Moreover, a finite right
-primitive near-ring R with eRe a non-ring is a near-ring of matrices over a near-field (which is isomorphic to eRe), where e is a right
-primitive idempotent in R.

Dobbs, David Earl ; Latham, Brett Kathleen ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 607~617
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.607
Abstract
Let S = C(r,m), the finite cyclic semigroup with index r and period m. Each subsemigroup of S is cyclic if and only if either r = 1; r = 2; or r = 3 with m odd. For
, the maximum value of the minimum number of elements in a (minimal) generating set of a subsemigroup of S is 1 if r = 3 and m is odd; 2 if r = 3 and m is even; (r-1)/2 if r is odd and unequal to 3; and r/2 if r is even. The number of cyclic subsemigroups of S is
. Formulas are also given for the number of 2-generated subsemigroups of S and the total number of subsemigroups of S. The minimal generating sets of subsemigroups of S are characterized, and the problem of counting them is analyzed.

Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 619~627
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.619
Abstract
Let
denote the set of all
matrices over a semiring S. For
, zero-term rank of A is the minimal number of lines (rows or columns) needed to cover all zero entries in A. In [5], the authors obtained that a linear operator on
preserves zero-term rank if and only if it preserves zero-term ranks 0 and 1. In this paper, we obtain new characterizations of linear operators on
that preserve zero-term rank. Consequently we obtain that a linear operator on
preserves zero-term rank if and only if it preserves two consecutive zero-term ranks k and k + 1, where
if and only if it strongly preserves zero-term rank h, where

Weakly Prime Ideals in Involution po-Γ-Semigroups
Abbasi, M.Y. ; Basar, Abul ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 629~638
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.629
Abstract
The concept of prime and weakly prime ideal in semigroups has been introduced by G. Szasz [4]. In this paper, we define the involution in po-
-semigroups, then we extend some results on prime, semiprime and weakly prime ideals to the involution po-
-semigroup S. Also, we characterize intra-regular involution po-
-semigroups. We establish that in the involution po-
-semigroup S such that the involution preserves the order, an ideal of S is prime if and only if it is both weakly prime and semiprime and if S is commutative, then the prime and weakly prime ideals of S coincide. Finally, we prove that if S is a po-
-semigroup with order preserving involution, then the ideals of S are prime if and only if S is intra-regular.

Finite Type Invariants and the Kauffman Bracket Polynomials of Virtual Knots
Jeong, Myeong-Ju ; Park, Chan-Young ; Yeo, Soon Tae ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 639~653
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.639
Abstract
In [9], Kauffman introduced virtual knot theory and generalized many classical knot invariants to virtual ones. For example, he extended the Jones polynomials
of classical links to the f-polynomials
of virtual links by using bracket polynomials. In [4], M. Goussarov, M. Polyak and O. Viro introduced finite type invariants of virtual knots. In this paper, we give a necessary condition for a virtual knot invariant to be of finite type by using
-sequences of virtual knots. Then we show that the higher derivatives
of the f-polynomial
of a virtual knot K at any point a are not of finite type unless
and a = 1.

Enumerations of Finite Topologies Associated with a Finite Simple Graph
Kim, Dongseok ; Kwon, Young Soo ; Lee, Jaeun ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 655~665
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.655
Abstract
The number of topologies (non-homeomorphic topologies) on a fixed finite set having n elements are now known up to n = 18 (n = 16 respectively) but still no complete formula yet. There are one to one correspondences among topologies, preorders and transitive digraphs on a given finite set. In this article, we enumerate topologies and non-homeomorphic topologies whose underlying graph is a given finite simple graph.

Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 677~684
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.677
Abstract
In the theory of hypergeometric functions of one or several variables, a remarkable amount of mathematicians's concern has been given to develop their transformation formulas and summation identities. Here we aim at generalizing the following transformation formula for the Exton's triple hypergeometric series
and
:
The results are derived with the help of two general hypergeometric identities for the terminating
series which were very recently obtained by Kim et al. Four interesting results closely related to the Exton's transformation formula are also chosen, among ten, to be derived as special illustrative cases of our main findings. The results easily obtained in this paper are simple and (potentially) useful.

Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 685~697
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.685
Abstract
In this paper, we prove that there are no pseudo null Bertrand curve with curvature functions
,
and
other than itself in Minkowski spacetime
and by using the similar idea of Matsuda and Yorozu [13], we define a new kind of Bertrand curve and called it pseudo null (1,3)-Bertrand curve. Also we give some characterizations and an example of pseudo null (1,3)-Bertrand curves in Minkowski spacetime.

On Almost Pseudo Conharmonically Symmetric Manifolds
Pal, Prajjwal ;
Kyungpook mathematical journal, volume 54, issue 4, 2014, Pages 699~714
DOI : 10.5666/KMJ.2014.54.4.699
Abstract
The object of the present paper is to study almost pseudo conharmonically symmetric manifolds. Some geometric properties of almost pseudo conharmonically symmetric manifolds have been studied under certain curvature conditions. Finally, we give three examples of almost pseudo conharmonically symmetric manifolds.
