A study on curriculums of statistics department in korea
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 1~8
The survey results about curriculum of statistics department in Korea has been summarized. Because of the scientific speciality, curriculums of statistics have different forms depending on universities. So summarization of curriculums will be helpfull for the case of renewal of the curriculum or organizing the curriculum in the new statistics department.
A Study of the Statistical Consulting
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 9~25
In this paper we review the papers related to statistical consulting. The three main objectives of the statistical consulting are education, service, and research. It is noticed that not only the statistical aspects but the nonstatistical aspects should be emphasized for the successful statistical consulting. It is concluded that a seperately funded consulting center operated as a division of a department of statistics is the most appropriate way to provide and to quality of education, service, research in the universities.
A Study on statistical inference on IL-2 titer
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 27~35
This article deals with statistical inference on Interleukin-2 titer of which the clinical applications to cancer immunotherapy and some immunodeficiency diseases have been widely tried. A Linear model and the Bayesian approach are used to explain the bioassay which performs the measurements of IL-2 activity from an patient and an inference procedure including confidence intervals for the IL-2 titer of the patient through comparision with the Standard IL-2 is suggested and a real case of example is illustrated.
Disequilibrium econometric models and switching regression models
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 37~45
Switching regression models are commonly used for the statistical analysis of the disequilibrium models. In this paper wer show how switching regression models can be classified by the sample separation criterion and how they are related to the disequilibrium models. The problems in the estimation of the disequilibrium models ar discussed for the ones with both known sample separation and unknown sample separation.
Evaluation of the major sources of atmospheric pollution in jilin city by regression diagnostics
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 47~51
We study by stepwise regression method, the influence which atmospheric pollution in Jilin City has on the rate of death accorrding to cancer. The extremes are discovered and we know that
and smoking are important factors too.
A study for the standardization of statistics terminologies and statistics education in korea
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 53~59
In this thesis, I have discussed the historical backgrounds of statistical education in kores from 1900 to present. And, I have compared statistical terminologies between theoretical statistics and applied statistics for the standardization of the statistical terminologies. Finally, I present some sugestion for the standardization of terminologies in statisetics.
A study on the step stress life testing
Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, volume 2, issue 2, 1989, Pages 61~78
We consider the step stress life testing which has been developed in order to perform the life testing of the units whose normal life time is long within a reasonable amount of time. The models suggested for statistical analysis of the data obtained form the stress life testing are reviewed and a model which contains these models in some respect is suggested. The statistical inference based on the suggested model is done using maximum likelihood and weighted least square estimates. Finally we review the design of the simple step stress life testing and extend the result to the censoring case.
Goodness of Fit and Independence Tests for Clustered Sample Data

statistic is concerned. Moreover the four statistics(Pearson, Wald, modified sample design effects and reduction factor) are compared in one-stage sampling situation. In case of categorical of fit and independence tests for sample data above, it is shown that there is a significant behavior between Pearson
and Wald statistic, but minor difference in modified statistics by simulation methods.
