Using the partitioned matrices, we presents a method of analysis which are not needed inverse matrix for Hierarchical Group Divisible(HGD) designs whose treatments are composed of 2.2.2.
Bayesian ratio estimation in finite populations

In this paper we give a Bayesian approach to problems of estimation for the ratio in finite populations. Adopting the Ericson's superpopulatin approach in which the finite population of size N is viewed as arising form a random sample of N units from some superpopulation. We derive the exact posterior of the ratio under the noninformative prior on superpopulation parameters. Based on our results we compute an exact Bayesian confidence interval and compare this with the existing methods.

In this paper, minimal balanced $2^t$ fractional factorial designs which permit the estimation of main effects and 2-factor interactions are developed by using a partially balanced array. Such designs are characterized by a minimum number of runs and some balancedness property of the variance-covariance matrix of the estimates. In addition to describing the designs, optimality criteria are discussed and the trace-optimal designs are presented. The proposed designs are especially useful in Taguchi method, where we need to investigate up to 2-factor interactions of the control factors.
A study on change-points in simple linear regression

A testing and estimation procedure is considered for changes at unknown time point in simple linear regression model. A test statistic of quadratic form is suggested. We also discuss the asymptotic distribution and its level control. The proposed method is compared with the likelihood ratio test through a example.
On the distribution-free tests for umbrella alternatives in a randomized block design

Distribution-free test for umbrella alternatives in a randomized block design is proposed and asymptotic properties test statistics and the asymptotic relatives efficiency (ARE) of the proposed test statistics with respect to the Puri's parametric method are investigated. For given peak points 2,3,4, with 4 blocks and 5 treatments, and with 3 blocks and 5 treatments : for given peak point 3, with 2 blocks and 4 treatments : from the small sample Monte Carlo Study, the empirical powers between the proposed test and Puri's test are compared. Throughout the simulation results, the proposed test statistic is efficient for the heavy tailed distributions.
A stochastic model for winter air-temperature of seoul area

This paper is concerned with the development and application of a stochastic model for winter air-temperature of Seoul area. The annual and interannual flucturations of the regression trend, periodicity and dependence of the air-temperature are analyzed based on the data during the past 30 years(1959-1989). A statistical procedure for using the stochastic model to predict the air-temperature is proposed. Some statistical characteristics of winter air-temperature including unusual air-temperature and Samhansaon are also discussed.
A study of computer aided teaching for statistics

A software, the CATS (Computer Aided Teaching for Statistics), which is specially designed for teaching elementary statistics using the personal computer is developed. This software helps the novice to understand the complicated statistical theories, for example the central limit theorem, which are not easy to teach in classroom. The software is also designed for practicing the elementary statistical techniques using the small amount of data as the other statistical packages.

A simulation study on projection pursuit discriminant analysis

The projection pursuit method has been gussested as a technique for the analysis of the multivariate data. This method seeks out interesting linear projections of the multivariate data onto a line of a plane to solve the curse or dimensionality. In this paper we developed the discriminant analysis by using the projection method and simulations were used for comparison between this and other existing discriminant analysis methods.
