A Study on the Utilization of Photoballoon System for Database Generation of Small Areas
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 7~15
In order to generate database, we need to obtain speedy and corret topographic information according to requisite purpose. Generally methods to an acquisition of topographic information are available by the use of maps, satellite images, stereo models of aerophoto and so forth. But we must choose a optimal method in consideration of area of object region, spatial solution of image, required accuracy and economic. Therefore, this study aims at providing the establish method of efficient topographic data base of small object region by means of spatial layer techniques of geo-spatial information system and using acquisition of geo-information and production method of base map with photoballoon system to obtain topographic information for reasonable plan and design of object region which select a zone preparation of a collective village with small region. As a result of this study, we decided an f-stop and a shutter speed of camera to obtain accurate stereo model and were able to obtain stereo photography and topography for small region by using of photoballoon system through accuracy analysis according to change flight height and air base speedly and economically. We can establish the data base useable to efficient plan and design as existence map with overlay plan drawing.
A Study on the Optimum Route Determination using Digital Terrain Model
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 17~26
This study aims to develop an effective model of the optimum route determination by using digital terrain model. So in this study I select testing areas and analyse comparing the usual method with the digital terrain model method. And then I present one of the optimum route determination models by analysing an anticipated view and other roads according to the development plan. In usual method, the selected area was analysed by using panoramic terrestrial and aerial photograph. But in this study I represent the present terrain by using digital terrain materials which was acquired by a check form map of the selected area, and predict the route line according to the view points by using basic development plan. As a result of using the digital terrain model method in the optimum route determination with terrestrial photograph, it is possible to explain the terrain in detail when the present conditions terrain is analysed. As we can anticipated many sided road in large scale development plan with digital terrain materials which was used in analysing the present terrain, it is possible to lead to more effective route planning, landers planning and the optimum road determination than the usual method in the basic plan.
The Acquisition of precise three dimentional topographic information by GPS
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 27~34
The construction of the accurate, economic topographic information for a sorts of work and a base facilities of country is one of the very important subjects. In this paper, Global network which include south KOREA and Regional network which include Chung-Nam/Chung-Buk provinces were designed, obtained WGS84 coordinates of control points in networks by GPS. The coefficients of transformation between WGS84 coordinates and Bessel coordinates in consideration of geoid undulations was derived by 7-parameter method. Also, the efficiency of 7-parameter method was proved through successful application of T.M. and U.T.M projection for the precise mapping, and the effectiveness of the aquisition of three dimensional topographic information by GPS was suggested.
The Sea Level Slopes along the Korean Peninsular Coast based on the First Order Levelling Net in Korea
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 35~41
The height differences in Mean Sea Level is an important factor in geodetic leveling net, because MSL is the reference datum for height. Geodesists and Oceanographers agree on the height differences in MSL in the east-west direction, but they disagree almost always on the north-south slope, each suspecting systematic errors in the leveling methods of the others. A promising method for determining this slope is comparison of MSL at the tidal station connected by geodetic leveling. The slopes of the sea surface along the coast of Korean Peninsular is estimated from conventional local MSL at the tidal station and bench mark height of first order leveling net in Korea. As a reference level surface, MSL at Inchon is chosen. The results indicate that sea level rises along coast of Korean Peninsular from south to north about 5.5 cm/latitude. In the east-west direction, sea level along East Sea coast stands about 5 cm higher than that along Yellow Sea coast. These are not invariable but provisional phenomena. It may become certain provided that the exact MSL is estimated.

Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 43~51
It is very important entity that a map of urban facility is in civic life and development of city. But now, there are many needs of computerization which was used for management of urban facility map because inefficiency was produced due to management of urban facility map by hand. This paper, it was showed that a processing of establishing database in computer by applying GIS. The used sample area in studying in Ansan city in Kyunggi province and a sewer pipe which was in there adapted to establish database in computer. A map of administration district, which is 1:38,000, a map of complex urban planning of city, which is 1:3,000, and the facility map were used for the input of spatial data and the address, the year when sewer pipe was burried, and the quality of pipe, the pipe diameter, and the length of pipe were used as attribute data. Relational structure was used for establishment of database then, searching, analyzing, and processing were possible. Additionary, the result of this studying can be used for replacement of a old sewer pipe, a material quantity which is related with repairement of sewer pipe, and calculation of time, cost by application program framed by Fortran.

Landslides, failure of slope stability by natural or artificial factors, occur loss of life and properties. Recently, landslides hazard area predict statistical methods and field measurements, but there are so many difficulties to find the occurrence system because of its complexity. To predict the landslide harvard region, model area is the Seodong in Pusan where occurred landslides. Database of ground height made the each topography in map scale of 1 : 25,000, 1 : 10,000, 1 : 5,000 and 1 : 1,200. Authors knew to landslide hazard area by the weight of ground height data and slope angle data. Finally, aerial photo analysis is possible find landslide hazard area.
A Study on the Digital Map Production and Water Supply management in GIS
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 59~67
Since society rapidly change, we need accurate and rapid information. Due to complication and rapid change of national infrastructure system, we meet a limitation of 2-D information management. Currently most digital cartographic data is acquired by manual digitizing with a tablet. Recently high cost scanner is widely used and preprocessing and postprocessing software of scanning are developed, so we expect its availability. In this study, we know that scanning is more convenient than digitizing with a tablet for digital mapping, also, possibility of 3-D modeling of vectorized document is suggested. Because information rapidly provided in the planning and implementation, operation efficiency and advance are archived in water supply project. Improvement of service for need of citizen and possibility combined information system connected with other system is presented.
A Study on the Geometric Correction of a CCD Camera Scanner Using the Exterior Orientation Parameters
Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 69~77
Investigation is given to the detailed procedure of a computer assisted automatic correction for scanning errors of the digital images of close-range photographs scanned by the CCD camera scanner. After determination of the exterior orientation parameters, photo coordinates of the all pixels were calculated using collinearity equation. For the generation of geometric corrected image from the photo coordinates of the all pixels, inverse-weighted-distance average method was used. And the accuracy of the resulting new image was checked comparing its image coordinates with there corresponding ground coordinates for the check points.

Journal of the Korean Society of Surveying, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography, volume 11, issue 2, 1993, Pages 79~87
Executing various constructions and national land planning, it has rised importance how to acquire 3-dimensional geographical information efficiently. In conjunction with this, the concerned parties are interested in the accuracy of GPS positioning and applications. This study suggest the efficiency and possibility to apply geographical information construction by kinematic GPS surveying as comparing kinematic GPS results with triangulation, trilateration and static GPS results. In this study, we try to compare static with kinematic and can determine 3-D positions with difference of 6 mm in distance, 2"/10,000-4"/10,000, 20 cm in latitude, longitude and height at local area. In addition, difference from conventional surveying is about 1"/l0,000-3"/10,000 in horizontal. Therefore it is expected to apply kinematic GPS to make out topographic map and to construct data base associated with GIS.associated with GIS.
