A Study for Construction of Road and Underground Facilities Information Sharing Systems in Local Government

It is required that information sharing and integrated management between roads and underground facilities because there are so many possibilities to happen unexpected accidents. But if there are road excavation work happened, work agency should ask fer other facility information to the facility management company. In the case of local government, it is increasing that the needs for the development of roads and underground facilities management system and information sharing because digital map generation(1/1,000 scale) completed. In this study, as a way of integrated management and information sharing between roads and underground facilities, centralized system based on internet web technique and decentralized system based on closed network technique between the local government are considered. And for the development of information sharing system, action plan and considering points are proposed.
A Study on Efficiency of the Combination of GPS and GLONASS

To survey satellites using only GPS can sometimes cause an impossible situation due to the many different geographical conditions as city cannon and obstacles. Although the GLONASS satellite system does not have the ability to survey itself accurately since it currently lacks of the number of usable satellites, it is able to bridge the gap when combined with GPS. This research used the GPS receiver to perform four analyzing methods to bring out the independent surveying method of GPS and combined surveying method of GPS and GLONASS(4 methods - number of satellites able to receive, precision of raw data, standard deviation from known point and RTK surveying). The result of test surveying satellites showed that 11 hours were possible to measure a minimum of 4 satellites when using an independent surveying method and 4 hours in unified surveying method in a month. Also, the precision of raw data using GPS and GLONASS surveying is 0.08~l.8m better than the GPS surveying in standard deviation. The deviation of known points by GPS and GLONASS also showed better accuracy by 3~l1mm. The RTK showed the range of differences in deviation of survey by leaning towards the GPS independent survey in Northing coordinate and leaned towards the Easting coordinate when GPS and GLONASS were combined. Nonetheless, it can't be said that the unified method is better, because it has limits to its capability.
Highway Maintenance Cost Optimization Using GSIS

Maintainability of highways is an important problem that is considered in the planning steps of a highway development process. A number of asset management systems have been developed to precisely predict maintenance and pavement expenditures for better decision making, But these systems are not helpful in reducing maintenance costs. Optimization of some highway design characteristics in the planning phases may reduce maintenance costs over the life cycle of highway. The formulations for initial and maintenance costs have been developed based on which design variables can be chosen to minimize these costs, focusing on the sideslope in cut and fill sections. Maintenance cost has been represented as a function of sideslope, width of highway cross section, and annual average daily traffic. A real geographic database of between Chung joo and Sang joo city in Choong buk was used and it is presented to investigate the sensitivities of maintenance cost and soil characteristics in selecting alignments. In this study, we present that maintenance cost and soil characteristics are important considerations in alignment optimization.
Measuring Water Depth by Using a Combination of GPS/Echosounder

Depth of water information is obtained mainly from echo-sounding instrument which observes the round-trip time of signal from water surface to the bottom. Photogrammetry, underwater survey and laser survey etc. are also used as another method of bathymetric surveying. These methods are used specially for making track chart in a shallow water area. On the other hand, aircraft or satellite imagery ara also used in the sea area where the effect of suspended material is low and water quality is good. Presently, general bathymetric surveying has been performed in our country, but the spatial density of surveyed point are relatively low. Therefore, in this study we built a grid water depth chart which measured combing echosounder with GPS-RTK method and the depth accuracy was analyzed by using the data of direct survey water depth. As a results, the bathymatric mapping which use echosounder is more economical method compared to the existing methods.
Precise Geoid Calculation Using Shipborne Gravity Data of the Mid-Yellow Sea Around KOREA

This study suggests a data processing method for precise geoid height calculation through sea gravity data of mid-Yellow Sea provided by Haeyang 2000 and satellite altimetry data and the EGM96 geopotential model from GSFC/DMA in USA. Also it compared sea gravity data with satellite altimetry gravity data. As a result, precise geoidal undulation of the mid-Yellow Sea presented from calculating and integrating EGM96 geopotential model in degree and order 167 and a relative geoid by integral radius of 27km respectively It has a mean value of 18.339m, varying from 13.564m to 22.785m. the comparison between sea gravity data and satellite altimetry data shows that the former is more precise than the latter, which showed an anomaly of 0.56m0Gal and RMSE of 4.195m.
The Construction of Kinematic Survey System for the Efficiency of GPS Cadastral Survey

As the necessity of land information has increased according to development of computer and Information-communication, people have been interested in the satellite measurement system that can update Cadastral and Geographical information rapidly and exactly. Most Cadastral base points which had limitation of measurement technology in the 1910s were less accurate and were destroyed through the Korean War. They also many problems in the process of reinstallation. So, they require the quick and correct method of measurement in re-equipment of a base point and a parcel based survey and so on. This study intends to present the GPS survey direction by understanding and analysing all sorts of problems rising in case of applying the GPS to cadastral area in order to increase the efficiency of the GPS measurement, and also develop the GPS kinematic survey program to apply to the efficiency of a kinematic survey. As a result of research, I could confirm the accuracy of Cadastral base points in Kwangju area by using Korea GPS array and a base point, and could get the result similar to existent cadastral survey result with the coordinate conversion program of Cadastral technology research institute. We however have to pay our attention to the transformation of the plane coordinates because the difference between tens of cm and the existing result can outbreak according to the Gauss conformal double projection method. And, I could figure out the practicality of the developed GPS kinematic survey program, compared with common use program. I expect that it can be applied to the digital cadastral survey and the cadastral map renewal as well.
The Construction of Digital Close Range Photogrammetry System Integrated With CAD for Education

In this study, it was intended to present solution for learners to understand and utilize photogrammetry more easily using economic medium except expensive measuring equipment. For this, 3D point data was analysed by generating event to stereo image on monitor, and input to CAD system automatically. so, real time vector editing and drawing with coordinates measurement were possible. The system was verified, and the monitoring for real construction was performed. so, it is expected to be utilized as a practical use software in related fields.
A Study on Application of Coordinates Transformation Methods on Parcel and Forestry Map Connection

It is crucial that we should set proper standards capable of efficiently handling new corrections of maps, connections of edges on the maps, administrative districts, and inter-scale connections in order to make serial cadastral maps. This study drew a two dimensional Parameter using an indent point, as a Review Control Point, on forest screening line or boundary line of administrative district. The study also introduced a few different transformations such as Affine Transformation, N-Degree Polynomial Transformation, and Projective Transformation, the two dimensional transformation methods to apply them to the connection of cadastal·forestry maps and the connection of parcels between the administrative districts, on the forestry map designed by discretionary edges on the maps per district unit with parcel numbers and tried to apply the coordinates transformation method to connections of maps to make serial cadastral maps.
Development of Bridge Warning System by Using GPS Surveying Method

A recently lot of facilities have been constructed from rapidly development of science and economic growth. Among them, bridges are tending to be large because of geometrical problems of the road. And then the method of satellite surveying is being practical use variously out of present surveying methods. Therefore in this study it takes a measurement of bridge displacement using the RTK GPS Mode instead of the using mechanical measurement system. The observation value was verified by using Total Station to inspect observation value of RTK GPS. And then, by using the Delphi of object intending language, developed bridge warning system and applied it. The result of this study was found verification error of 0.2~8.3mm, therefore the measurement of bridge displacement of grand bridge can be applied by using An GPS.
