Comparison and Analysis of Features between Aerial Photo Image and Satellite Image

Practical use is increasing on the aerial ortho image recently, and much researches for geographic information system build that use high resolution satellite image cause this are progressing. Also many researches that use KOMPSAT-1 satellite image of resolution 6.6m are performing in these days, estimation for between aerial photo and satellite image is needed. In this treatise scanned image of aerial photo, using aerial photo resampling image of resolution equal with KOMPSAT-1 image using aerial photo, and KOMPSAT-1 satellite image use for experimental image making each orthoimage, classified feature for estimate. We evaluated to what level that an separation item could be able to estimate in each orthoimage. As result of estimation analysis, In the classified feature in aerial photo orthoimage with aerial photo resampling image orthoimage is about 61%, KOMPSAT-1 satellite image orthoimage is almost 41% could estimated. Through this investigation estimate, KOMPSAT-1 satellite sue to map updating, geographic information og non-approach area and environment inspect.
GPS PWV Variation Research During the Progress of a Typhoon RUSA

Typhoon RUSA, which caused serious damage was passed over in Korea peninsula during 30 August to 1 September, 2002. We estimated tropospheric wet delay using GPS data and meteorological data during this period. Integrated Water Vapor(IWV) gives the total amount of water vapor from tropospheric wet delay and Precipitable Water Vapor(PWV) is calculated the IWV scaled by the density of water. We obtained GPS PWV at 13th GPS permanent stations(Seoul, Wonju. Seosan, Sangju, Junju, Cheongju, Taegu, Wuljin, Jinju, Daejeon, Mokpo, Sokcho, Jeju). We retrieve GPS data hourly and use Gipsy-Oasis II software and we compare PWV and precipitation. GPS observed PWV time series demonstrate that PWV is, in general, high before and during the occurrence of the typhoon RUSA, and low after the typhoon RUSA. GPS PWV peak time at each station is related to the progress of a typhoon RUSA. We got very near result as we compare GMS Satellite image with tomograph using GPS PWV and we could present practical use possibility by numerical model for weather forecast.
Automatic Extraction of the Building Using IKONOS Ortho-Image

As recently, high-resolution satellite images of 1m spatial resolution are opened to the public and able to be used commercially, the studies that make ortho-images using them and apply to digital mapping and database of geo-spatial information system are having been progressed actively. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to establish the auto-extraction methods and to develope algorithms for automatically extracting buildings out of man-made structures, after making the IKONOS ortho-image. As the result of this study, we can extract buildings automatically at 72% out of the whole buildings. And we have analyzed the error trend by means of the comparison with ortho-image, digital map and drawing result, then we could know that obtain the good result for extraction of the building through the methods and algorithms of this study.
The Acquisition of Geo-spatial Information by Using Aerial Photo Images in Urban Area

Generally, the latest acquisition method of geo-spatial informations in urban area is executed by generation of digital elevation model (DEM) and digital ortho image by digital photogrammetry method which is used large scale photo image. However, the biggest problem of this method is coarse accuracy of DEM which is automatically generated by digital photogrammetry workstation system. The coarse accuracy of DEM caused geo-spatial information in urban area to reduce of accuracy. Therefore, this study is purposed to increase of DEM accuracy which is applied to method terrain classification in urban area. As the results of this study, the proposed method of this study which is increased to accuracy of DEM by classification of terrain is better than accuracy of DEM which is automatically generated by digital photogrammetry workstaion system. And, the edge detection method which is proposed by this study is established to capability of 3D digital mapping in urban area.
The Development of Generalization Processing Using Digital Map Ver 2.0

This study is focused on development of generalization processing for 1/25,000 digital mapping using l/5,000 digital map. The generalization processing for digital map included in spatial and attribute information consists of 3 steps. The first, elimination of layer which is not included in 1/25,000 feature code. The second, classification of 8 feature codes. The third, merging of spatial and attribute information. Therefore using generalization workflow developed in this project, automatic generalization system will develope optimal in the future and also contribute product to small scale digital map and thematic map.
A Study on the Technique Develop for Perspective Image Generation and 3 Dimension Simulation in Jecheon

Stereo bird's-eyes-view was prepared for 3-dimensional view of various forms of Jecheon city, and 3-dimensional simulation was applied to it so as to show it in moving pictures in spatial. In manufacturing stereo bird's-eyes-view, perspective technology was used in image-making technology, and the basic material images are prepared as fellows: used EOC Images from Arirang-1 satellite, created DEM whose error was optionally geometric corrected after drawn from the contour line of the map on a scale of l/5,000 manufactured by national geography institute as a national standard map, and classified road lines which were manufactured as a road layer vector file of a map on a scale of l/l,000 and then overlay it over the three dimensional image of target area. Especially for the connectivity with address system to be used in new address, an arterial road map on a scale of l/l,000 that had been manufactured to grant new address was used in maximum in road network structure data of city area in this study.
Virtual Spatial Database Creation for Application of Three Dimensional GIS

Generally, feature of real world as 2-dimensional information of point, line and polygon achieve a GIS function from 2-dimensional GIS. But at enduring the geography elements which exist when it is composed of 3-dimensional spatial information it is abstracted with 2-dimensional which will reach, the loss of many information and 2-dimensional GIS of existing the basic limit exists md, Accordingly, 3-dimensional geography elements of the real world even at the computer controlling with 3-dimensional geography element original it will be able to minimize the loss of information which it keeps, for 3-dimensional expression and the analysis against the natural facility and the artificial facility of the real world it is the actual condition whose 3-dimensional GIS of ultimate form are necessary. This study was 2-dimensional feature a point the line and polygon and 3-dimensional spatial data information as the method for to use the VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language), 3-dimensional virtual worlds for 3-dimensional GIS applications to create and hereafter various decision making of at connection web more efficient and the possibility of doing in vision in order to be, it drew up a spatial database.
Estimating Accuracy of 3-D Models of SPOT Imagery Based on Changes of Number of GCPs

There is various kinds cause that influence to created DEM and orthoimage using stereo satellite images. Specialty, research about effect that GCP number gives to accuracy of DEM, orthoimage and modeling may have to be gone ahead. Therefore, this research increases GCP number by 5 to 30 and created each modeling, DEM and orthoimage using SPOT panchromatic images that resolution is 10m by digital image processing method. Accuracy assessment did by orthoimage using 20 check point. As a result, GCP number between 10∼30 modeling RMSE is 1 pixel low appear. Horizontal·vertical error that use orthoimage looked tendency that decrease GCP number increases, and confirmed by the most economical in GCP number 10∼15. Also, analyze correlation of GCP number and orthoimage position accuracy and presented improvement plan and research task hereafter.
Construction of Information System for Building and Road Facility Using Photogrammetric Analysis

This study intended to extract the spatial data and attribute data from the images of terrestrial and aerial photographs and to compile the digital map from the images using various kinds of photograrmmetric analysis. Also this study aimed to develope the technique of constructing the Information System for Building and Road Facility (ISBRF) using the compiled digital maps and the extracted data. The spatial or attribute data for the facilities in the area was extracted using the single terrestial photographs and graphical method. And the Three Dimensional Frame Model was produced from multiple images of terrestial photographs. In addition, the spatial data base for the objective area was updated by the vectorizing procedures with small scale areal photos. It is concluded that the efficient techniques for constructing the ISBRF was suggested in this study.
A study on the Development of 3D web-map using VRML and java

It is very difficult assignment that grasp three-dimensional real life in Web base network environment. But, the recent simulation tools embody third dimension elements within 2 dimensions screen that is limited through third dimension implementation technology. Many GIS tools are offering excellent functions for third dimension data creation. But, research about design of third dimension GIS that use virtual reality technique in Web environment is status that is unprepared. So, in this research embodied third dimension topography map using virtual reality modelling language to produce active third dimension VR map that can supply visual information for direction, visual point that want in World Wide Web without support of expensive Map exclusive use program. And these 3D Web-Map is thought that possibility is enough as next generation map medium.
Standardization of the Construction Process and Development of the Process Management Software for Spatial Database Quality Maintenance

This study is aimed at standardizing the process of spatial database construction and developing a software tool for process management. Knowhow of five GIS firms and provisions of NGI(National Geography Institute) was analyzed. In this study, the process of spatial database construction was standardized. The system from this study has the capability to manage the process of construction database using GIS and to deal with the metadata of unit map, generated from the process, systematically and continuously. The process was also shown by using either Gantt chart or PERT chart after developing an interface for "MS Project". A software "Visual Basic for Application" was used for this study.
