The Analysis of the GPS Data Processing of the NGII CORS by Bernese and TGO

This study verified the limitations of commercial GPS data processing software and the applicability on precise positioning through comparing the processing results between Bernese and TGO under various conditions. To achieve the goal, we selected three nationwide station data and two smaller local data to constitute networks. By using Bernese and TGO, those networks are processed through the baseline analysis and the network adjustment. The comparative analysis was carried out, in terms of software, baseline length and network scale, observation duration, and number of fixed points. In the comparison between softwares, the scientific software was excellent in accuracy. It was confirmed that, as GPS-related technology is developed, the performance of the receiver was enhanced. And, in parallel with this, even the functionalities of the commercial software were tremendously enhanced. The difference, however, in result between the scientific and commercial software are still exist even if it is not big. Therefore, this study confirms that the scientific software should be used when the most precise position is necessary to be computed, especially if baseline vectors are big.
Construction and Application of 3D Image Model for GIS Spatial Analysis

Currently, satellite image, aerial image and airborne laser scanning data are mostly used to build 3D image models. However, we are in need of quality 3D image models as current models cannot express topographic and features most elaborately and realistically. When making 3D image models, the model is first built and textures from terrestrial photos are applied to add realistic features to the model. This study analyzed techniques to use photogrammetry and laser scanning data to create a 3D image models with topography, building and statue that emphasize spatial accuracy, delicate depiction and photo-realistic imaging. 3D image models with spatial accuracy and photographic texture were built to be served via 3D image map services systems on the internet. The 3D image models can be used for various purposes, such as daylight and view right analysis, landscape analysis, facility management system.
Analysis of GIS Function of Integrated Management Platform for the u-City Service

With the advent of u-City(ubiquitous city) concept, the importance of urban management has been increased. GIS is a foundation for the efficient urban management and an essential technology for the development of u-City. u-City, which aims for convenient, safe, healthy, and comfortable life, provides diverse services based on advanced information technologies, and it will offer more services in the future. u-City integrated management platform enables the ease of service development, guarantees the quality of services for the resident, and provides organic information sharing. Moreover, the platform by integrating GIS and other common management functions, makes possible efficient urban management. In this paper, required functions of u-City integrated management platform for u-City service were analyzed. As a result, GIS module for management of street lights and supervision of fire was developed and the application usability of u-City integrated management platform was verified by service simulation.
The Accuracy Analysis of Design Profile Generation using 3D Digital Terrain Model

In construction work's design process, we must carry out a topographical survey for construction reserved land and to the basis of this, production of profile is indispensable factor for the purpose of every construction work such as road, rail way, canal and etc. From this research, the production of profile about construction reserved land, using topographical information of digital topographical map produced by NGIS project, construct precision 3D terrain model and from this, propose plans for utilizing by producing automatic profile. With the aim of this, extract every layers of main facilities and altitude from digital topographical map and while producing 3D terrain model by using this, we product automatic profile from precision 3D terrain model. And we was carried out to check whether the automatic produced profile's accuracy could be accepted at actual estimation by mutual analysis. It is considered that the result of the research could be suggested as a new techniques concept which can reduce the designing period and expenses and increase the efficiency of affair in the design process for the construction.
Design Route Analysis of Dangerous Road for Traffic Accident using GIS

Recently, the government has improvement projects of dangerous road for the site that has very high accident rate due to bad geometric structures of the road. Although, route selecting of the road is a basic and important process, but the process of route selecting must consider the technical, safety and environment factor together. Also, the technology for the 3-dimensional terrain model can be used as an important factor in planning and designing for selecting alternative route projects. In the course of experimenting with the 3-dimensional topography generated by the combination of the digital map and drawing of route, the technology as been developed to offer the multi-dimensional access to the potential construction sites from the nearby main roads. This 3-dimensional digital elevation model has made it possible to make various terrain analysis base on GIS, which provides real-time virtual access to the designated construction sites for development planning and construction projects. Therefore, this study presents a reasonable plan for route selecting from some alternative routes through subjective evaluation and classify the methods linked basic design of road construction.
Geospatial Data Display Technique for Non-Glasses Stereoscopic Monitor

Development of computer and electronic technology leads innovative progress in spatial informatics and successful commercialization. Geospatial information technology plays an important role in decision making in various applications. However, information display media are two-dimensional plane that limits visual perception. Understanding human visual processing mechanism to percept stereo vision makes possible to implement three-dimensional stereo image display. This paper proposes on-the-fly stereo image generation methods that are involved with various exterior and camera parameters including exposure station, viewing direction, image size, overlap and focal length. Collinearity equations and parameters related with stereo viewing conditions were solved to generate realisitc stereo imagery. In addition stereo flying simulation scenery was generated with different viewing locations and directions. The stereo viewing is based on the parallax principle of two veiwing locations. This study implemented anaglyphic stereogram, polarization and lenticular stereo display methods. Existing display technology has limitation to provide visual information of three-dimensional and dynamic nature of the real world because the 3D spatial information is projected into 2D plane. Therefore, stereo display methods developed in this study improves geospatial information and applications of GIS by realistic stereo visualization.
Mathematical Modeling for the Physical Relationship between the Coordinate Systems of IMU/GPS and Camera

When extracting geo-referenced 3D data from cameras mounted on Mobile Mapping Systems, one of important properties for accuracy of extracted data is the alignment of the relative translation(lever-arm) and rotation(bore-sight) between the coordinate systems of Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU)/Ground Positioning System(GPS) and cameras. Since the conventional method calculates absolute camera orientation using ground control points (GCP), the alignment is determined in one Coordinated System (GPS Coordinated System). It basically require GCP. We proposed a mathematical model for the alignment using the initially uncoupled data of cameras and IMU/GPS without GCPs.
Improvement of Relative Positioning Accuracy with GPS Carrier Phase Using Multi-Base Station

In general, RTK-GPS(Real Time Kinematic GPS) based on the single reference station is able to determinate the high accurate position of rover on the spot using error correction information of transmitted carrier phase from the base station via wireless modem. However, single reference station method has some weak points to decrease positioning accuracy because it must be obtained carrier phase from the each satellite continuously, allowed to transmit without obstacle and limited to short base line distance between base and rover station. This paper aims to attempt network based GPS carrier phase differential positioning using three multi reference stations to overcome the method of single reference station and RTK network is realized by real time monitoring program with Visual C++. The optimum error correction value of three multi reference stations by RTK networking is selected automatically to correct the position of rover station. In this paper, this algorithm is applied to determine sea water level using GPS buoy, and the accuracy results of water level change were analyzed and compared with each other using single and multi reference stations.
An Application of VRS-RTK Surveying in Construction Site

Correct evaluation of cut and fill volume of soil is one of the most important factors which controls construction cost in enormous construction sites. To achieve accurate computation of soil volume in construction site precise surveying is required, however most of construction sites adopt existing optical surveying instruments such as Total Station. The problem when using these optical instruments in construction sites is that these instruments take longer time in data acquisition. Due to insufficiency of computation time accurate and precise observation cannot be accomplished with these equipments. As a result roughly calculated earthwork volume may cause arguments between contractors and supervisors in the matter of reduction or increasement of total construction cost. In this study VRS-RTK Surveying is adopted to perform fast and accurate in-situ surveying for rapid computation of soil volume. This VRS-RTK Surveying system is proved to have more accurate three dimensional coordinates with high density and better economical solution with less manpower.
A Study on True Ortho-photo Generation Using Epipolar Geometry and Classification Algorithm

This study introduces the method of detecting and restoring occlusion areas by using epipolar algorithm and K-means classification algorithm for true ortho-photo generation. In the past, the techniques of detecting occlusion areas are using the reference images or information of buildings. But, in this study the occlusion areas can be automatically detected by using DTM data and exterior orientation parameters. The detected occlusion areas can be restored by using anther images or the computed values which are determined in K-means classification algorithm. In addition, this method takes advantages of applying epipolar algorithm in order to find same location in overlapping areas among images.
