An Evaluation of the Compressive Strength of Recycled Aggregate Concrete by the Non-Destructive Testing

The objective of this study is to evaluate the compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete by the non-destructive testing. Main experimental variables were the replacement level of recycled aggregate and blast-furnace slag, which were divided into two series according to recycled aggregate maximum size. Test results showed that a recycled aggregate had a significant influence on the non-destructive testing results, such as rebound number, Ultrasonic pulse velocity, and frequency. A prediction model of compressive strength considering the replacement level of recycled aggregate was suggested by multi-regression analysis and was compared with test results.
A Study on Modelling for Prediction of Concrete Drying Shrinkage according to Aggregate Ratio of Concrete

Drying Shrinkage has much complexity as it has relations with both internal elements of concrete and external factors. Therefore, experiments on Concrete Drying Shrinkage are carried out in this study under simplified circumstances applying temperature & Humidity test chamber which enables constant temperature and humidity. Comparative analyses have been made respectively according to the consequences aiming at modelling for prediction of Concrete Drying Shrinkage and making out measures to reduce it. Strain Rate of Drying Shrinkage of concrete under the condition of dry air appears to rise by about 20%-30% in proportion as the temperature rises 5℃ when the humidity was held below 10% compared under the condition of dry temperature & Humidity test chamber. Strain Rate of Drying Shrinkage in pit sand concrete increased 20% higher than measured when in river sand under the condition of 90-day material age. A Study on Hydration Properties of Recycled Cement Mortar using Admixture Materials

The purpose of this study was the development of a recycling process to recover the hydraulic properties of hydration products which account for a large proportion of cementitious powder from concrete waste. This process was performed to recycle cementitious powder as recycle cement. Therefore, after the theoretical consideration of the properties of recycle process of recycled aggregates and cementitious powder, we investigated the hydraulic properties of cementitious powder under various temperature conditions in hardened mortar which was modeled on concrete waste. And we analyzed properties of chemical reactions of recycled cement with admixture materials such as Fly-Ash, Blast Furnace Slag As a result of the experiment, the most effective method to recover hydraulic properties of the cementitious powder from concrete waste was condition of burning at 700℃ for 120 minute. And it is shown that the fluidity of mortar was decreased rapidly when the burning temperature of recycle cement was increased. However, the compressive strength and fluidity were improved significantly when admixture materials such as Fly-Ash or Blast Furnace Slag was added.
The Study on the Compressive Strength Properties of Mortar using Discarded Bentonite Powder by the Cooling Method after Heat Treatment

As the bentonite is main material to prevent from collapse of drilling hole at underground excavation works, it is increased using quantity on construction industry day by day. But, the discarded bentonite that is over using at underground excavation works is caused various enviromental trouble as soil and water pollution est. Therefore, this study aims to propose a foundamental report for pozzolan reaction of discarded Bentonite powder by heat-treatment and cooling as concrete mineral admixture. To find out pozzolan reaction ability of discarded Bentonite powder by indirect cooling & cooling using of water after heat-treatment, the experiments are excuted flow test & compressive strength on age of mortar using discarded Bentonite powder. As a result of this study, discarded Bentonite powder can be utilized as concrete mineral admixture by heat-treatment and especially, pozzolan reaction ability of discarded Bentonite powder is superior to the situation of 600℃. 60min ＆amp; cooling using of water.
A Study on the Evaluation of the Water-soluble Chloride Content and Free-chloride Content in Blast Furnace Slag Cement Pastes

The purpose of this paper is to compare free-chloride content with water-soluble chloride in blast furnace cement(BSC) paste. The content of free-chloride in cement paste measured by pore solution analysis and water-soluble chloride measured by ASTM. The result of this study are as follows: 1. The concentration of chloride ion in pore solution of BSC-solidified matrix is almost as low as 43-71% compared to that of OPC-solidified matrix containing the same chloride content in cement paste. 2. The binding capacity of specimens, OPC Pl-P5, are 93.5-77%, but the binding capacity of specimens, BSC Pl-P5 are 97.1-86.1%, which is to be as high as 2-9.1% compared to OPC containing the same chloride content. 3. In terms of water-soluble chloride content in BSC paste are 15-31.7 percent of chloride addition but free-chloride content in pore solution are 2.9-13.9 percent of chloride addition. The free-chloride content in pore solution is 19.3-43.8 percent lower for the water-soluble chloride content in cement paste.

In order for concrete as a basic material constituting reinforced concrete structure to meet the required performance, it is necessary to satisfy various requirements in concrete construction. Among them, form work has significant effects not only on the process of molding fresh concrete but also on the quality and performance of hardened concrete. Recently, the decrease and aging of form workers is becoming a great problem in the construction industry and, as a result, it is required to rationalize form works and reduce labor costs for employing form workers. Because form construction methods decide the type of form according to required performance, it is necessary to develop various form construction methods and examine their performance. Thus the present study purposed to expand the scope of application of form construction methods and, for this purpose, investigated the basic characteristics of rib- lath form and presented a system form construction method.
A Study on the Actual Condition and Effect of Dust Scattering in Construction Field

Dust scattering is one of the major problem for the residents living nearby construction field with construction noise and vibration. The dust scattering may inflict a considerable damage to psychological, spiritual discomfort to neighboring peoples. Therefore, the trouble of residents living nearby construction field have been increasing. Nevertheless, in our country, adequate guidelines for the dust scattering are not yet established because of the lack of basic data and insufficient research works. In this point, this study has researched its level of damage by conducting of the interview-survey which utilizing of questionnaire-paper asking for those staffs and workers to answer in the construction field, in order to grasp the damage extent of the actual condition effect and response against scattering dust in construction field. As the result, the occurring rate of dust scattering was appeared high compare with other constructing processes, due to utilization of construction equipment that operating at the fundamental basic construction stage, and it was turned out that presently the proper countermeasure and training against scattering dust in the construction site is insufficient. As for the solution mean against that, it is considered that with the better operation of construction site such as the installation of facilities for occurrence-restraint of dust scattering, frequent sprinkling of water, use of thermostat-covers, as well as those methods to be minimized of the occurrence of dust scattering must be contrived through the education for an attention how to use of construction equipment and training at the site.
A Study on the Change Factors by Activities for Estimating Historical Cost on Apartment Housing Projects

Construction industry is faced with the problems such as the quickly changeable circumstance and increasing construction companies due to regulation mollification of company registration. In order to overcome these problems, new estimation system based on historical estimation cost is ready to introduce by government step by step. But the time of transition for estimation system causes another problems such as chaos addition to simultaneity of a standard of estimation system and new estimation system, lack of related regulation, accumulation of historical extensive cost data, and adjustment methodology when historical estimation data is applied to next projects. The purpose of this study is to suggest the change factors by activities for estimating historical cost for apartment housing projects. New estimation system is based on historical construction data. For application of this system, the standard adjustment methodology system is necessary. and extensive cost data should be accumulated under an unified construction work classification system. Therefore in this study, according to the construction work classification system, every apartment housing project was classified to 16 work classifications, and 7 major composed items which occupy more than 85% of construction costs are analyzed by detailed activities and by average ratio and maximum ratio each of them. In the result of the study, furniture work, foundation work and masonry work are the works which have big gap of costs between average ration and maximum ratio. In addition to suggestion of change factor by work species, 5 qualified construction specialists are interviewed and change factors in 7 major works are analyzed.
The Influence and Construction Strategies of Constructor under the PL Law in Construction Industry

The purpose of this study is to suggest the rational plans of Construction Policies under Product Liability Law. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1) Analytical survey of actual Influence under Product Liability Law in Construction Industry. 2) Review of Business Strategies of Constructor and Building Material Supplier. Although real estate including apartment is excepted from the application of product liability law, constructor are not perfectly free to the product liability law. And the expectancies of this paper are that it can be used as efficient data for improvement of system to systematize contents of Product Liability Law in korea.
The Prediction of Remodelling Timing Based on the Cash Flow of Permanent Rental Housing

The purpose of this study is to predict remodeling timing of Permanent Rental Housing through historic data and cash flow analysis. For this aim, the study has estimated cash flow of Permanent Rental Housing considering initial construction costs, government supporting fund, rental incomes and maintenance expenses. Based on the expected cash flow analysis, reasonable remodeling timing is predicted for Permanent Rental Housing. The results of this study are as follows: (1) it is analyzed that building a8e of about 27 years is the best time for remodeling because cumulative surplus amounts reach maximum level, (2) it is required that remodeling should be made before 34 years of age roughly because cumulative surplus amounts change into minus from this time.
A Case Study on the Economic Analysis for a New Technology-Based Ventilation System Using LCC Technique

The purpose of this study is to assess economic effects for a new technology-based ventilation system. The study has been performed using LCC technique for the economic analysis. Data for LCC analysis are collected from estimation and interview of estimators and maintenance experts of buildings. Based on the LCC analysis, the economic effect of a new technology-based ventilation system has been predicted as follows: for the investment during 15 years of study period, (1) return rate for the investment is 9.3 times. (2) 7.3% of LCC saving is predicted.
