The paradigm shift in housing market has changed consumers' interests to the cost of housing, it is the mos important factor considered in purchasing house recently. In this study, some factors influencing on the cost o: housing and some preference factors considered in purchasing house are analyzed. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is used to analyze preference factors. The results of this study can be used as a decision maker in the initial planning stage of construction industry.

Recently, domestic construction companies have been moving towards overseas markets due to decreasing orders and an increase in competitiveness within the domestic market. However, there is a higher risk involved in the overseas construction Industry than in the domestic construction industry. Especially, because domestic construction companies lack development's experience, such a companies have a weakness of hidden risk factors. For Overseas New Town development project's success of domestic construction companies, preferentially, It Is necessary to deduce and analysis of risk factors in real estate development phases. This study would possibly be able to provide the preliminary data for Overseas New Town development projects in the future.
An Experimental Study on the Noise Control of Unit Bathroom Wall Panel

TProduction's adaptation manufactured construction component is enlarged the result of development in the various construction products and technology. But the pre-fabricated unit bathrooms are not used in spite of many advantages which occupies less than 10% of its market share. This study is for the alternative methods through the on-the-spot experiments to lessen resonance of the wall panel in the Unit bathroom. The results are summarized as follows. Unit bathroom was effective in suitableness part noise control performance when attach sound-absorbing materials. But noises control performance was not better than the general used bathroom. When Urethane (egg container pattern) was applied in the unit bathroom, unit bathroom can be expected for utilization in the construction market field.
Influence of Steel Fiber Volume Ratios on Workability and Strength Characteristics of Steel Fiber Reinforced High-Strength Concrete

In this paper, concrete material tests were carried out to investigate influence of steel fiber volumn ratios on variations of workability and strength characteristics of steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete,
of compressive strength, according to increase of fiber volume. Test specimens were arranged with six levels of concrete compressive strength and fiber volumn ratios, 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%. The test results showed that steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete(
, 1.5% fiber volumn ratio) with good workability of slump 20cm could be used practically and effects of steel fiber reinforcement in improvement of concrete strength and toughness characteristics such as splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, and diagonal tensioned shear strength, were more distinguished in high-strength concrete than general strength concrete. And the test results indicated that splitting tensile strength of fiber reinforced concrete was proportioned to the product of steel fiber volumn ratios,
and sqare root of compressive strength,
, and the increasing rate was in contrast with that of flexural strength, and increase of diagonal tensioned shear strength was remarkable at steel fiber volumn ratio, 0.5%.
Evaluation for High Strength Concrete using Pullout Test

Out of all the nondestructive test (NDT) methods, the pullout test is one of the most reliable techniques for estimating the strength of concrete under construction. However the pullout test inevitably produces significant surface damage because of the inherent test mechanism and costs too much for using measurement devices. In the view of construction engineers and inspectors, the main purpose of NDT methods for concrete is to verify whether the concrete strength of structure members exceeds the target strength or not. In this paper, a new pullout test method, which involves a pre-installed breaking bolt, with pre-determined breaking torques corresponding to the target strength of concrete, is introduced with related test data. The three types of test, the rebound hammer test, the pullout test, and the new pullout test with breaking bolt, were carried out on wall specimen with three types of concrete strengths. Our results show that concrete strength as evaluated by the pullout test with breaking bolt was similar with cylinder test results. Therefore it can be said that the new pullout test with breaking bolt is a useful method for checking the concrete strength without any surface damages in construction site.
Bond Strength and Corrosion Resistance of Coated Reinforcing Bar Using Hybrid-Type Polymer Cement Slurry

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the bond strength and corrosion resistance of coated reinforcing bar using hybrid-type polymer cement slurry(PCS). PCS coated steels, which is made from two types of polymer dispersions such as St/BA and EVA are prepared, and tested for bond strength and various corrosion resistances such as autoclaved cure, carbonation and H2SO4 solution. From the test results, the bond strength of PCS coated reinforcing bar using ordinary portland cement at 1-5, 2-1 and 4-5 of mixes is higher than that of uncoated regular steel. However, bond strength of almost PCS coated reinforcing bars using ultra rapid high strength cement is higher than that of epoxy coated bar, is also in ranges of 102% to 123% compared to that of uncoated regular steel. In autoclaved accelerating test, the ratio of corrosion of uncoated regular steel is increased with the increase in NaCl content, but the corrosion of PCS coated steel was very small. In the acceleration test for carbonation, increasing the amount of NaCl the corrosion of coated steel did not produce. The corrosion of uncoated regular steel is increased with the increase in the amount of NaCl. It can be seen that the NaCl following the acceleration test for carbonation can lower the corrosion resistance of concrete. As a result, the corrosion of steel largely is affected by the acceleration curing, chloride ion penetration and carbonation and shown more severe corrosion by applying complex factors. These corrosions of steel can be suppressed by the coating of PCS.
A Plan of Project Information Management through Analysis of Drafting Process for Transportation Planning

As the number of high-rise building construction projects grows up, the subject of the transportation planning has become one of the grave issue. however important decision making are made by the experience of the a planner without the rational plans for information sharing. therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a plan of prefect information management not only for describing drafting process for transportation planning but also for systematizing information used in the procurement, transportation and construction phase to achieve these objectives, this study 1)analyzes the prior theory about transportation planning, 2)performs a case study of actual project to embody the problems of site management by analyzing the results of interviewing experts. In conclusion, the following factors are systematized : 1)the structure of drafting process for transportation planning, 2)the contents of information used in the procurement, transportation and construction phase, 3)the actual condition of code breakdown structure in transportation Planning phase. It is anticipated that the proposed methodology would be able to improve information management among the related engineers and accumulated data that might be used in similar construction projects in Korea.
Estimation of the Setting Time of the Super Retarding Concrete Combining Mineral Admixtures

This study provides the setting time prediction method of super retarding concrete incorporating mineral admixtures at the same time including fly ash(FA), blast furnace slag(BS) based on maturity method. The setting time was retarded, as super retarding agent contents increase and curing temperature decreases. In addition, apparent activation energy by Arrhenius function was ranged from
with slightly difference along with mixture proportion. This value is smaller than existing value
. It is Indicated that equivalent age using setting time can be a proper method to predict setting time and it also exhibited comparable relativity between prediction value and measurement value. Therefore, this study provided setting time prediction value with super retarding agent contents and mineral admixture combination. Setting time prediction equation provided herein is possibly valid for estimating precise setting time of the super retarding concrete at the job site.
A Study on the Estimation of Proper Numbers of Construction Lifts

The volume of material and number of workers mobilized has been on the rise in line with the domestic projects getting higher, larger and complex currently. Particularly for the project in downtown, delivering the resources in timely manner is very crucial in carrying out the overall project as scheduled. Inappropriate lifting plan often causes inefficiency over the entire project, resulting in increase in schedule and cost. Despite of such importance of lifting plan for architectural work, lifting plans at the most of domestic projects, except a few cases for large scale high-rise buildings, have been heavily dependent on engineer's personal experience and intuition alone. To deal with such problems, the study was intended to develop and suggest a systematic and objective process for determining the lift, categorizing the lifting equipment into the two types, one for workers and another for material.
The Study on Measures for Reducing Safety Accidents of Excavator

Safety accident resulting from construction projects getting larger and complex day by day has occurred more often than ever. Particularly, the accident caused by construction equipment, among others, has been on the rise. To prevent such accidents, it's necessary to come up with the measures for reducing the accident. In this study, the cause of safety accidents was analyzed, reviewing the cases of safety accident maintained by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency, and the measures for reducing the accident was suggested with computerized safety checklist. The scope of study was limited to excavator, and the result is summarized as below. 1) Investigation was conducted to identify the cases of accident by excavator with the primary causes. 2) Reduction measures were suggested by category of cause of excavator-caused accident. 3) Checklist to prevent the safety accident, which was based on primary causes, was suggested. 4) The measures to stir up safety consciousness and monitor the safety were suggested, making use of computerized system. This study is expected to lay the foundation for further study in future as well as make a great commitment to reducing the safety accident.
