A Recognition Method of HANGEUL Pattern Using a State Space Search
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 267~277
In this paper, a method of separation and recognition of phonemes from a composite Korean character pattern through a state space search strategy which is a problem solving method in artificial intelligence is proposed. To correlate the separating of phonemes with their recognizing, the problem is represented into the state space, on which a search strategy is performed. For the minimization of search area, the structural information based on the composition rules of Korean characters and the positional information of phonemes in the basic forms are used. And the effectiveness of the approach is shown by a computer simulation.
A Study on the WDM Optical Coupler Using Polished Single-Mode Optical Fiber
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 278~285
It is well know that optical oupler that is composed of the polished single-mode optical fiber can separate two arbitrary wave lengths. Wavelength division ranges of the WDM optical coupler that is made of the bending fiber with radius R vary with the center wavelength of the signal and spacing between two cores. In this paper, when optical fiber is fixed with the radius R, We proposed the spacing between two cores that can provide minimum division range. Also, We proposed the minimum radius R necessary to separate two arbitary wavelengths of the signal.
Real-Time Signal Processing of A/O Correlator
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 286~294
The objective of this paper lies in presenting in theory an interpretation of how signals are detected from the real-time A/O correlator, and scrutinize by experimental processes, thereby to devise a method by which correlation function can be detected in a favorable way in time. An A/O system for real-time correlation function of two signals has been constructed. This optical correlator when at work in intensity modulation mode by acousto- optic device renders higher output signal to noise ration, as compared with the traditional optical signal detection, has simple system as compared with existing optical correlator in amplitude modulation mode.
A Solution to the Inverse Kinematic by Using Neural Network
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 295~300
Inverse kinematic problem is a crucial point for robot manipulator control. In this paper, to implement the Jacobian control technique we used the Hopfield, Tank's neural network. The states of neurons represent joint velocities, and the connection weights are determined from the current value of the Jacobian matirx. The network energy function is constructed so that its minimum corresponds to the minimum least square error. At each sampling time, connection weights and neuron states are updated according to current joint positon. Inverse kinematic solution to the planar redundant manipulator is solved by computer simulation.
A Study on a Method of Rigid Body Movement Analysis -Mainly on Mandible Movement Parameter Determination-
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 301~314
This paper is an attempt to use vision-pattern recognition technique to analyzation on a hidden rigid body motion. Specially shaped rod, rigidly connected to the hidden body is extended to the ouside of hiding object so that a camera may catch the motion data. Every motion can be described with translatio and rotation. But translation can be explanied with ratation with a infinitly far centroid. Motion analysis is to find the instantaneous centroid and ratation angle. With this theory jaw motion is analyzed in this paper.
Stabilzed Control of an Inverted Pendulum Cart System Using the Optimal Regulator
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 315~323
A design technique of dynamic stabilization controller for the intrinsic unstable inverted pendulum system is introduced. Mathematical modelling with the more complex nonlinearity and the stabilized control theory presented by C.D.Johnson are adapted to this system by using the state-space approach. And the Stabilized controller with the designed optimal regulator type which can be fastly tracked and can be accurately counteracted aginst all effects of the constant distrubances and the parameteric variations is simulated and is implemeted successfully on the microcomputer.
A Study on the Modified Hybrid ARQ System
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 324~330
In this paper, the hybrid ARQ system involving the single error correcting and double error detection (127, 119) cyclic Hamming codes and the SR(selective repeat) ARQ schemes with a finite receiver buffer has been designed and constructed. The system performance has been analyzed and simulated. As a result of the simulation, it has been shown that the transmitter retransmitted those data blocks that were detected in errors especially the request signal errors using two retransmission. The system performance was measured by throughput efficiency due to channel error effects.
Synthesizing of Communication Protocol using CFSM
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 331~340
In communication protocol design, it is important that design procedure is simple and result protocol must be correct. This paper presents a communication protocol synth-sizing algorithm, which enhances productivity of protocol design, using CFSM. CFSM is defined as extended FSM for representing protocol information and simplification. In this method protocol designer descripts only one communication machine with out error consideration using FSM, then two communication machine M' and N' are generated. And then transformation rules for error-recovery converts M' and N' to EM' and EN' which are logically correct.
A Study on the Architecture of Narrowband / Wideband Switching Networks Accommodating Multi-slot Connection Traffic
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 15, issue 4, 1990, Pages 341~352
In this paper, we introduce tree types of switching networks, I, e., a fully segregated type, a partially integrated type, and a fully integrated type switch, to accommodate nx 64Kb/s multi-slot connection traffic and analyze their blocking probabilites for the different traffic mixes by utilizing a computational algorithm of blocking probability, and finally determine the traffic handling capacity which satisfies the given grade of service. The fully integrated type switch can accommodate the ISDN traffic with relatively low wideband traffic. However, either the partially integrated type or the fully segregated type switch is needed to accommodate the ISDN traffic as the wideband traffic increases. This result can be usilized in the design of ISDN switching networks accommodating multi-slot connection traffic.
