The Design of Position Controll System by Model Following Servo Controller
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 1~12
In this paper the design and construction of discrete model following servo dontroller on the position control system is proposed. The operational time delay of the plant in the controller which is proposed, is considered and the system which is added by the integral compensation in first order difference equation is constructed. By applying the optimal regulator method to the system, the method which find the optimal state feedback gain is developed theoretically. The output of a model which is correspond to a DC Servo motor follow quickly the speed response of a DC Servo motor and the velocity error in ansteady-state is reduced in zero and the position response is controlled correctly, the performance of the controller is contoller is confirmed by Computer Simulation.
A Design of 2-bit Error Checking and Correction Circuit Using Neural Network
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 13~22
In this paper we designed 2 bit ECC(Error Checking and Correction) circuit using Single Layer Perceptron type neural networks. We used (11, 6) block codes having 6 data bits and 8 check bits with appling cyclic hamming codes. All of the circuits are layouted by CMOs 2um double metal design rules. In the result of circuit simulation, 2 bit ECC circuit operates at 67MHz of input frequency.
Recognition of Occluded Objects by Fuzzy Inference
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 23~34
This paper is studied for the recognition of occluded objects by fuzzy inference. The images are transformed a group of linear line segments, which is formed local features extracted from curvature points, using polygonal approximation. The features extracted from images are representes to the fuzzified data which is mapped into fuzzy concepts to represent the fuzziness, and the recognition of a model from scenes is performed by fuzzy inference using the production rulse which is generated from the model image. It is considered that the recognition results according to the change of degree of fuzziness in the experiments, and the experimental results for 30 scenes contained 120 models is obtained 92.5% of recognition rate.
Aircraft Identification and Orientation Estimention Using Multi-Layer Neural Network
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 35~45
Multi layer neural network using backpropagation learning algorithm is used to achieve identification and orientation estimation of different classes of aircraft in the variety of 3-D orientations. In-plane distortion invarient
feature was extracted from each aircraft image to be used for training neural network aircraft classifier. For aircraft identification the optimum structure of the neural network classifier is studied to obtain high classification performance. Effective reductioin of learning time was achieved by using modified backpropagation learning algorithm and varying, learning parameters.
A Study on the Design of Content Addressable and Reentrant Memory(CARM)
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 46~56
In this paper, 16word X 8bit Content Addressable and Reentrant Memory(CARM) is described. This device has 4 operation modes(read, write, match, reentrant). The read and write operation of CARM is like that of static RAM, CARM has the reentrant mode operation where the on chip garbage collection is accomplished conditionally. Thus function can be used for high speed matching unit of dynamic data flow computer. And CARM also can encode matching address sequentially according to therir priority. CARM consists of 8 blocks(CAM cell, Sequential Address Encoder(S.A.E). Reentrant operation. Read/Write control circuit, Data/Mask Register, Sense Amplifier, Encoder. Decoder). Designed DARM can be used in data flow computer, pattern, inspection, table look-up, image processing. The simulation is performed using the QUICKSIM logic simulator and Pspice circuit simulator. Having hierarchical structure, the layout was done using the
n well CMOS technology of the ETRI design rule.
A Study on the Propagation Characteristics of W-type Single Mode Fiber with Dual Shape Core
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 57~63
In this paper, propagation characteristics of W-type single mode fiber with dual shape core is investigeted theoretically. Design parameters of DSC(dual shape core) W-type single mode fiber with very low dispersion over a wide wavelength range are computed using scalar approximation. The results have larger core radius and stronger confinement for mode field distribution in core than conventional W-type fiber with single shape core.

This paper is to design and implement the Korean authoring tool SMAT which is able to generate a high quality instruction software with simple manipulation without a special programming knowledge insurrounding IBM 16/32 bit pc XT/AT.
Real-Time H/W Implementation of RPE-LTP Speech Coder for Digital Mobile Communications
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 85~100
In the discussion of digital mobile communication systems the speech coder based on the high quality low bit rate is an essential part of topics to overcome the limited availability of radio spectrum, which will enhance the communication services. In this paper we present the implementation and performance evaluation of 13kbps RPE LTP speech coder. An implementation of a real time full duplex coder with 75% of DSP loading rate using a single DSP chip has been shown, and also the fixed point simulations for H/W implementation has been performed. Finally, analysis result for relative bit importance of each transmitting parameter has been shown for channel coding.
A Study on the Construction Methods of Cryptographic Functions
;Tsutomu Matsumoto;Hideki lmai;;
The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, volume 16, issue 1, 1991, Pages 101~114
In a DES-like cryptosystem, the S(ubstitution) boxes determine its cryptographic strength as well as its nonlinearity. When in an S box a part of the output depends on a part of the input. It can be broken by the chosen plaintext attack. To prevent this attack, every output bit should changes with a probability of one half when ever a single input bit is complemented. We call this criterion Strict Avalanche criterion(SAC), which was proposed by Webster and Tavared. In this paper, we propose simple construction method of Boolean functions satisfying the SAC and bijective functions satisfying the maximum order SAC in order to design cryptographically desirable S-boxes. Also, practical construction examples of S-boxes are provided.
